Wonderful lunch on the most secluded patio in the city. Food and service was awesome as usual.
Such a fantastic dinner. The food was lovely, the wait staff was very attentive and the restaurant was beautiful. Will definitely be coming here again.
We go to this restaurant regularly. This time it was very good, the service was prompt and pleasant, an enjoyable evening. Specials change every week; you can call to find out what they are.
Very good evening with excellent food. We went early so there was no one else there. Loved it!
I had such a great experience here! The food was amazing, the service was great and we really enjoyed everything about the experience. We will definitely be back.
Excellent Italian food in a quaint downtown location.
The Osobuco was superb: tender and cooked to perfection. The Rigatoni dish was also excellent: wonderful sausage, mushrooms, and a very light sauce.
The passion fruit Panama cotta finished a great meal.
Always consistent, new menu with lots of gluten free options, new wine and cocktail list, reasonable prices and non intrusive service.
Awkward....! And super expensive...! .
I had a business friend in town and I recommended that we go to Café Il Nido. It was a very good choice since he thoroughly enjoyed it and we had a terrific evening
Usually I come to Il Nido for dinner but this time I had a business lunch and I was in shock that it was nit busy at all and I do not understand why, I have been to Il Nido countless times and is always a pleasure, the food is delicious and well portioned, the service is great, so european and unpretentious, nice background music that makes a lovely atmosphere to carry a business or personal conversation.
Not many food options
I had a casual lunch at the restaurant with colleagues on November 9, 2017. The food was good. However, the server was the rudest I have ever encountered. Besides the hostile attitude, when she learnt that we were not going to order wine or dessert/coffee, she scoffed at us. That was absurd. Not recommended.
Foods and service are always excellent here. A quiet place for a nice dinner!
This was a friend get together we love good food and always want to try a new restaurant that we have not been before. We highly recommend it portions are not huge and sides not much with your entree but sooooo good and filling.
Server feels unapproachable and unfriendly. I ordered the pan seared swordfish and some parts are pink, still not fully cooked. The alfredo was good, nice and creamy though.
Impeccable service and incredible food.
We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary here. On the tecommendation of a friend. The food was very good - especially the fried mushroom appetiser and my large pork chop. The waiter suggested a wine that we enjoyed with the meal, a Chianti. They also gave us a lovely surprise, a Tiramisu, beautifully presented with a candle for celebration. Real candles in the candle holders at all the tables too.
It had been awhile since had been here but really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and service. Enjoyed a nice meal and some good wine for a good price. Enjoyed the evening. Thanks!
I was a little disappointed by the food, to be honest. We paid $6 for olive oil and bread, but the bread was nothing special and the sea salt added to the olive oil meant we couldn't choose to not go salty. My swordfish was interesting but I wouldn't order it again; my partner's pasta sauce was not quite to her taste either. The panama cotta dessert was lovely, however.
I've been dining at Cafe Il Nido for over 25 years. Franco is an amazing host and the cuisine is fabulous. The atmoshere inside is cozy and outside on the patio in the summer is wonderful. I'd recommend Cafe Il Nido for business lunches, birthday celebrations and get together with freinds. You won't be disappointed....great ambience, great food and great suervice.
The food was good, the service was fine and the ambiance was very nice. However, I find it very insulting when a restaurant like this feels it necessary to add an 18% tip automatically to the bill on a table for 2. What are they afraid of - that we won't leave a tip at all?
Café il Nido has a cozy outdoor patio that was perfect for a Friday night dinner in summer. The service was very attentive. They will leave you alone for as long as you like, which is good if you are trying to have a leisurely dinner. The food was excellent too. I had the swordfish ceviche for an appetizer, and it was outstanding. I definitely would go back there again.
We really enjoyed this restaurant and recommend it without reservation. Food was very good.
I I had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Il Nido, they always deliver simple and delicious flavours with a no pretentious service, and overall a good value.
Food quality was average, waiter tried to upsell at every course, very annoying and we could not wait to get away from the waiter. Pushy ! And we had to pay for bread which was absurd. Overpriced for food quality and experience.
Very nice place to have a meal where you can chat and not have to yell to be heard. THe new waiter is a bit over the top. He tries too hard and then it appears somewhat insulting. I do appreciate that they will customize my meal. It is very consistent.
Amazing personalized service and great food. Thanks to Franco for a memorable experience!
The Team at Il Nido are attentive, the atmosphere is quiet and intimate, the menu is thoughtful and diverse, and food is very good value.
Dinner food was excellent. Friendly and accommodating staff.
We had a very good experience on Valentine's Day. Completely non-rushed, told to take our time, unlike some places on that day in the past. Very attentive service and very good food. Nice wine list. Quiet table for 2. I have no complaints, and quite enjoyed the entire experience.
we went for Dine Out but we would go there regardless if it wasn't dine out as the food was outstanding. It is one of the best deals in town when it's on the Dine Out menu. Highly recommend this place. I was wanting to try it for awhile and I'm so glad that I did, will definately go there again!
Fabulous service and excellent food. Quiet, intimate setting. If only the flourless chocolate cake was a little bigger :)
Visited twice, for a lunch and for a dinner. Good food, nice choice of wines, pleasant decor and the place is quiet. The manager (owner?) made us feel special and welcome. We recommend this restaurant.
The food and welcome at Cafe il Nido never disappoint. Thrilled to have shared some delicious Italian favourites with dear friends.
We had a party of 4 reserved for the Dine Out Vancouver promotion. I don't think the set menu allows for a fair assessment of the restaurant's capability. We had a nice time overall.
food was great, luv ❤️ the bread. staff are very attentive.
So many gluten free items on the menu to choose from and that is one of the reasons among others that I keep coming to Il Nido, never disappoints with the food and the service always perfect.
Our first time here we had a lovely meal. Came back a week later and it was just the opposite. The bolognese sauce had no meat in it at all, and this time the portion was very skimpy. They added on an extra $5 for gluten free pasta with no previous warning, and it was odd that they did not charge extra for this the week before. My husband's gnocchi was very plain and lacked sauce. We paid $82 with the tip for 2 salads and 2 pastas, no drinks or dessert, and it was not at all worth it. Service was quite lackadaisical and will not go back.
The restaurant was quiet and not overly busy. The food was great. We were a table of 4. We shared 2 appetizers which were great and each tried
Something different off the menu. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. I didn't find the service great. It wasn't busy but we seemed to wait along time for our order to be taken and then they asked it we wanted dessert and we hadn't decided yet and never came back. Overall was good but not sure I would go back.
