About Cafe il Nido
Here's a city gem as hidden as a Mafioso in the witness-protection program. This courtyard patio tucked away between the Manhattan Apartments has that" La Dolce Vita" atmosphere.

Cafe il Nido Ratings and Reviews
Usually I come to Il Nido for dinner but this time I had a business lunch and I was in shock that it was nit busy at all and I do not understand why, I have been to Il Nido countless times and is always a pleasure, the food is delicious and well portioned, the service is great, so european and unpretentious, nice background music that makes a lovely atmosphere to carry a business or personal conversation.
I had a casual lunch at the restaurant with colleagues on November 9, 2017. The food was good. However, the server was the rudest I have ever encountered. Besides the hostile attitude, when she learnt that we were not going to order wine or dessert/coffee, she scoffed at us. That was absurd. Not recommended.
This was a friend get together we love good food and always want to try a new restaurant that we have not been before. We highly recommend it portions are not huge and sides not much with your entree but sooooo good and filling.
We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary here. On the tecommendation of a friend. The food was very good - especially the fried mushroom appetiser and my large pork chop. The waiter suggested a wine that we enjoyed with the meal, a Chianti. They also gave us a lovely surprise, a Tiramisu, beautifully presented with a candle for celebration. Real candles in the candle holders at all the tables too.
I was a little disappointed by the food, to be honest. We paid $6 for olive oil and bread, but the bread was nothing special and the sea salt added to the olive oil meant we couldn't choose to not go salty. My swordfish was interesting but I wouldn't order it again; my partner's pasta sauce was not quite to her taste either. The panama cotta dessert was lovely, however.
I've been dining at Cafe Il Nido for over 25 years. Franco is an amazing host and the cuisine is fabulous. The atmoshere inside is cozy and outside on the patio in the summer is wonderful. I'd recommend Cafe Il Nido for business lunches, birthday celebrations and get together with freinds. You won't be disappointed....great ambience, great food and great suervice.
The food was good, the service was fine and the ambiance was very nice. However, I find it very insulting when a restaurant like this feels it necessary to add an 18% tip automatically to the bill on a table for 2. What are they afraid of - that we won't leave a tip at all?
Café il Nido has a cozy outdoor patio that was perfect for a Friday night dinner in summer. The service was very attentive. They will leave you alone for as long as you like, which is good if you are trying to have a leisurely dinner. The food was excellent too. I had the swordfish ceviche for an appetizer, and it was outstanding. I definitely would go back there again.
We had a very good experience on Valentine's Day. Completely non-rushed, told to take our time, unlike some places on that day in the past. Very attentive service and very good food. Nice wine list. Quiet table for 2. I have no complaints, and quite enjoyed the entire experience.
we went for Dine Out but we would go there regardless if it wasn't dine out as the food was outstanding. It is one of the best deals in town when it's on the Dine Out menu. Highly recommend this place. I was wanting to try it for awhile and I'm so glad that I did, will definately go there again!
Our first time here we had a lovely meal. Came back a week later and it was just the opposite. The bolognese sauce had no meat in it at all, and this time the portion was very skimpy. They added on an extra $5 for gluten free pasta with no previous warning, and it was odd that they did not charge extra for this the week before. My husband's gnocchi was very plain and lacked sauce. We paid $82 with the tip for 2 salads and 2 pastas, no drinks or dessert, and it was not at all worth it. Service was quite lackadaisical and will not go back.
The restaurant was quiet and not overly busy. The food was great. We were a table of 4. We shared 2 appetizers which were great and each tried
Something different off the menu. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. I didn't find the service great. It wasn't busy but we seemed to wait along time for our order to be taken and then they asked it we wanted dessert and we hadn't decided yet and never came back. Overall was good but not sure I would go back.
Four of us had attended the 4:30 Chor Leoni concert at St. Andrews Wesley Church on Burrard Street and were looking for a good restaurant in the area. We decided on Il Nido and are glad we did. Our servers were both excellent and the food was great. We had four different entrees and everyone enjoyed theirs.
Our waiter almost expected us to place our order as soon as we sat down. He did not seem too pleased when we did not order any beverage to start and immediately took the wine glasses away. The food came very quickly and our waiter wasted no time to bring the pepper and Parmesan cheese and started to sprinkle both on our food almost without asking if we wanted them. As soon as we f inished our lunch our waiter asked if we wanted any coffee or tea. We ordered 2 coffees and 1 tea. He did bring us cream and sugar. We were half way finished with our coffee and he came over and swooped the cream and sugar off our table without asking us and never offered a refill. This is supposed to be a nice restaurant to enjoy a relaxing meal with friends and we expected the service to be much bettter than what we received. It was our Christmas get together with 2 birthdays to celebrate so we did not make an issue of the service. The food was good but the service was simply terrible. Don't recommend this place and we won't be back either.
