Cafe Ginger Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant has once again demonstrated that it serves the best Asian food in Houston. A traditional Chinese menu is supplemented by a large sushi menu. Everything we have ever had has been delicious. Service is impeccable without being overbearing. Ambiance is very nice. This restaurant is a staple in our regular rotation.
This is our favorite Chinese in Houston and for us has the added advantage of being nearby, We'd recommend it for anyone inside the loop and for those making a trip in. Very friendly. Their fried dumplings are second only to the Dumpling King, and they have terrific home pickled ginger to go with them and other things.
I have not found better Asian food in Houston. This restaurant just seems to be getting better and better. A light down marking for the service this visit only because a new waiter was learning the job. The happy hour menu features some real bargains. Most of the featured dishes are Chinese but there is sushi and some Japanese items as well. All items containing chicken are unprocessed white mea and all food shows quality. This is one of our "go-to" places that we never get tired of visiting.
We had a full Mother's Day plan and needed a nice place for three generations to enjoy a quick, tasty luncheon. Cafe Ginger delivered on all scores with outstanding wait staff, a delicious meal and great atmosphere. The whole family had a great time and we made it to our next event with time to spare.
Attractive setting and good service, but rather ordinary Chinese food. We had dumplings that were a bit tough and sesame chicken and Maggie shrimp, both of which were in an unctuous, sweetish sauce without much flavor. Both the chicken and the shrimp were overcooked and consequently tough.
Best Asian cuisine in Houston, in my opinion. Food is always delicious, quality is very high and service is invariably superb. The decorations are quite beautiful. Food is not inexpensive but it is worth what you pay for it. For sushi lovers, they have a large menu; if you would rather stick to (mostly) Chinese style, nothing you can order will not be wonderful.
Ambiance is nice, however it is not authentic Chinese food.
The fillings in the wonton and spring roll are not good quality.
The hunan shrimp dish with black bean sauce is way too salty.
The fry rice is not what we call fry rice.
Overall, pretty disappointed and will not go back for food as Chinese.
