Cafe Gia Ristorante
It was the desire to share our Sicilian heritage and Sicilian cuisine that prompted the family to buy an older neighborhood diner and create a new, warm, comfortable family ristoranté in Little Italy, “Café Gia Ristoranté.” We have strived very hard to recreate a Sicilian bistro, a place where one feels like they are in Sicily while dining. Buon appetito!

Tender octopus serverd with a chick pea, caper, and red onion salad with lemon olive oil
Thin layers of eggplant, marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese baked til golden brown
Veal scaloppini layered with prosciutto, mozzarella cheese and sage, finished in a demiglaze and served with Italian potatoes and the vegetable of the day
Very accommodating, great service, and exceptional food.
If you like Osso Buco the house special you are in for a treat. The veal falls off the bone. The rice balls are also something not to miss. We made the trip to Baltimore from Altoona, PA ( 175 mikes ) and was worth every mile of it. Looking forward to returning.
The food was excellent, the service exceptional!
A wonderful neighborhood/family restaurant with very good food at very reasonable prices. Service was good as well.
What a delicious meal! We visited on a Monday night - it was quiet (we were only one of three tables). Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Food was incredible!! We shared the polenta appetizer, and then I had lasagne which was creamy and delicious. My dining partner had gnocchi and she said they were the best she ever had. Highly recommend this little gem of a place. (and don't forget to try some lemon or chocolate cello afterwards!)
Good aranchini. Chicken was undercooked and inedible. Meals were overpriced. Waiter did not know what “pasta made in house “ meant.
Owner greeted us at the door, sat us quickly and told us a lovely story about New Years Eves of her past. Staff was very attentive and polite. Food was served quickly and everything we had was wonderful Best green beans I've ever eaten. Waitress made excellent recommendations.
Loved the atmosphere so much. Unfortunately, the food was just ok. The bruschetta was toasted bread with under ripe tomatoes and a few other vegetables. No taste really. Our entrees were just ok. I wanted to love this place..
Simply average experience! The menu was limited and the service just ok. The food was good but not great. The wine list looked like it hadn’t been updated in quite some time.
The venue was very cute, a little snug. The food didn't wow me but it was tasty. We were set in a corner sort of up against the bar near the front door so I felt like we were a little "in the way". The server was kind, though never asked us if we wanted to order drink or apps. Seemed eager to turn the table.
The Casoncelli pasta is out of this world!
Been meaning to get to Baltimore's Little Italy and found Cafe Gia Ristorante for our night before Thanksgiving dinner. Love the family-owned vibe. While the Fritto Misto appetizer was OK, the Casoncelli, Cauliflower Carbonara, Gnocchi Gorgonzola, Nonna Rosa's Fettucini and Polpette), Veal Francese, and wine (Antinori Super Tuscan) were all really really good. We WILL be back!
Cafe Gia is our go-to restaurant when we want a really good meal or a peaceful date night. The owner is a delightful woman who is always roaming the restaurant and is a pleasure to talk to. We’ve also never had a meal we didn’t like. We regularly start with Burrata and Arancini, but change up our main course selections because they are all good! If still hungry, we go for one of the cannolis or piece of tiramisu, both made by the owner herself! Do yourself a favor and check out this charming spot in Little Italy.
The food is always delicious and the service is always wonderful! We visit every time we are in Baltimore.
Continues to be my go to Place for great Italian food in Little Italy.
(Food, service and ambiance)
Started with drinks in the bar, tender was terrific.
Food was all delicious. Egg Plant Parm, Meatballs, Calamari, wine, even the salads.
Server was excellent but the "busser" was very slow and sloppy in having the table ready with plates and silverware. Restaurant was busy but NOT crazy on a Friday night.
Will definitely return
food was great but service was really weird?? food took maybe 45 min and they brought me the wrong dish, but at that point it's not worth waiting. felt a bit misled by their website as well.
We had the most delightful time. Excellent waitress and the food was out of this world! Thank you Cafe Gia!
VERY slow. Waited half hour for host to greet us. Food not good, but service is worse.
Loved Cafe Gia. Great ambiance and decoration. The costumer services was spot on and the food delicious, definitely come to experience little Italy
Absolutely wonderful. We celebrated and were treated as the whole restaurant was ours to enjoy! The food was outstanding!
Will definitely come back
Lasagna was outstanding!!
The owner was not very warm or nice. She had us wait outside for 10 minutes when there were several open tables inside and outside. She came from the back of the restaurant eating a piece of bread. We were the only people waiting, couldn't she seat us and then got her bread??? It got worse, our waiter spilled a bit of the mussel sauce on the stone bricks outside. Since it had butter I poured water to wash it off the sidewalk so people didn't slip. When the owner walked out she was livid and began ranting about the mess (honestly is was a bit of water on stone bricks outside!!!). The food was only ok, the only saving grace was our lovely waiter that tried to keep a smile on his face having to work for this disgruntled owner.
Excellent authentic Italian food, great ambiance and decoration, but the best is the personal touch which makes you feel you are with family.
Thank you Indira and Gia!!
Family centered, low key, casual dining experience
Great food! Meeting guests from out of town and took them to our favorite restaurant. Quick and expert service. Delectable food (no leftovers...sigh). Only noise was usual Baltimore sirens in the streets nearby, so they got the full Bmore experience. This is our favorite restaurant for out of town guests - always good, great ambience (except for the sirens, could imagine being in Rome) and always a great value.
Absolutely excellent with service and hospitality to match
The only restaurant in Little Italy that we frequent
Great food from start to finish. Service was excellent. The prices are good.
Second time visiting Baltimore we ate there a few years back & returned because it was so good & it didn’t disappoint.
Delicious food and great service! Super cute atmosphere. It was my friend and I’s first time in Baltimore, and I was super happy to find this gem!
Everything was great. Will definitely return
Got a last minute reservation for my daughter and I while we visited Baltimore. Very nice ambiance and the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant even though we were the last customers. Food was excellent - veal, Caesar salad (grilled), and pasta Bologna’s were all tasty and authentic
Gia and her Team made our night beyond special! Thank you!!
We celebrated my husband’s birthday, meeting my daughter and son-in-law for drinks and dinner here. We enjoyed several appetizers and delicious entrees - finishing with limoncello and cappuccinos. The atmosphere is very comfortable and enjoyed a memorable evening!
Great service and good food
From the minute we walked up and saw the glow of this restaurant, we knew we were in for a treat. The interior is even more charming & we were lucky enough to meet Mamma Gia! Come & enjoy the great food & hospitality
Booked this restaurant because it claimed to have outside tables with a view. Despite being nearly empty when we arrived (clearly a red flag), we were seated in a corner by a door. Food was barely passable. Service was horrible. We were there to celebrate a birthday. NEVER AGAIN!
The food and the service was excellent. We will definitely be looking to return
Food is great
Will return again
The food and service is amazing! We had calamari and the spicy marinara, perfectly cooked and tender. Gia’s sangria was the best I have ever had!
