Always amazing food and service, anything pork is remarkable. Worth the almost three hour drive.

The food here was absolutely amazing! The fried chicken was out of this world! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Such a modern twist on comfort food. I will definitely be back!

This cafe has the meatiest, best Reuben I have ever consumed. The sound attenuation is not good and the tables are close together, but after all it is a Cafe!

This restaurant came highly recommended to us. The menu selection was not a lot, the prices were high for what we got. My husbands hamburger was almost bleeding. He had ordered medium well. I got what the waiter described as steak soup. It had two small pieces of undercooked steak on top along with a few vegetables and a very runny broth. It didn't taste bad, just not at all what we expected. We had such wonderful food in Jackson up to that point so it was disappointing. We will cross that off our list for. Ext time.

The food was wonderful, especially the squash soup and the cheese plate. The pastry chef should be treasured for the fried apple dessert alone.

Disappointing breakfast. Food was cold and not very good. Service as always was efficient and friendly. I've had better meals there and will try again. Maybe just a bad morning in the kitchen.

The food was good, no doubt it was comfort food on a high scale. The "pig candy" was unique and worth a try. The meals were very good. Our complaint was in service. Our attendant was quite frankly not good at all. He did not tell us about any of the specials even after we asked about a special dish we saw on a Diners, Drive Ins and Dives segment. He was unresponsive on many levels. That made a great experience turn lousy and left a very bad feeling about the restaurant and its attention to customer service. Sad.

Adorable cabin, so cozy! Great concept. We loved the pan fried brussel sprouts! My only comment is everything we ordered (potato soup, brussel sprouts, salad) was sweet. I LOVE dessert and wasn't even up for it at the end of the meal. Would try it again and maybe just order differently.

We loved our dinner at Cafe Genevieve. The place has a very local, casual ambience. We had the trout, which was excellent. So fresh. It was served on a bed on white beans, kale, bacon, and red pepper coulis. I could have made a meal of just that. For dessert, we shared blackberry pie that was as good as the best home-made.

Nice cafe with friendly staff and great "comfort food". Portions are large so you will be taking some home. Cozy bar with a "happy hour".

Overall a good experience. Excellent bar drink. Shrimp hush puppy a little lean on the shrimp mix. Pork loin dish perfectly cooked and tasty. Fried chicken batter could have used a little more spice. Server was attentive.

We thought the food was pretty good, but not awesome considering the price. Our server was competent, but not friendly. We were disappointed when we realized that we paid the tip twice. An 18 percent gratuity was already added onto the check, but the check still had another line to add a tip. We ended up tipping 38 percent on our meal! The ticket was misleading.

2/3 lunches were great. Cuban sandwich not as good as the pig candy salad and hash. Best authentic Cuban sandwich is at Columbo Cuban restaurants in Florida.
Service is always good! We'll be back!

The trout dish was twice the size of another restaurant we ate at in town and prepared well. I had the burger which was plentiful along with more fries than any one person should eat. Service was attentive. There is a nice deck for outside dining in decent weather.

We were in Jackson for our last night before heading home from our road trip.
Cafe Genevieve was a close walk to our hotel. The food was fine, not the best meal you're ever going to have, but fine. The problem was our server. He never introduced himself when he came to the table. He seemed exceptionally tired and had no energy or enthusiasm for his job.
He answered some questions about the menu and took our drink orders. I also gave him our order for our starter. He brought the drinks back, then took our order for our main course.
After waiting a bit, we were never offered bread and our main courses were delivered. Our "starter" was never delivered! He found out the starter never came before our main courses and I think he apologized and mentioned something about dessert.
We ordered blackberry pie that turned out to be bland. Needed a bit of sugar.
And to end the evening, he charged us for the pie! Most servers would've comped it since part of our order was messed up.

A perfectly nice place for a reasonably priced, tasty meal. Nothing too special (except the house salad, of all things, which was super-fresh and terrifically flavored, and the cheesecake recommended by our server, which was outstanding), but tasty and not over-priced. A good choice for a casual evening.

Having eaten here 3-4 times a year over the past 5 years this was a disappointing experience. Over the last two visits I've given them the benefit of the doubt on the food but it has become average at best. Moreover, the service was disorganized, one example being our server asking us if we'd like a dessert menu before we received our entree. There are many others in town with better food and service at a similar price point.

Inside dining area was nice, but a bit dark. Service was good. Food was mediocre. $42 steak was only ok. My husband who never leaves steak on his plate left half of it. My ratatoullie was more like whole baby squash and very seedy eggplant with some grape tomatoes. We were a bit disappointed.

Three of us went there for the fresh trout. The menu said crispy trout with bacon, kale and white beans. All three of us ordered the trout without bacon, one not a meat eater, the other two thinking it might overpower the fish. The fish was dry, the skin was not crispy. The kale too was dry. Wouldn't suggest it if you're expecting a good old fashioned pan fried in butter dish.

Sitting outside is far better than dining inside; however, beware of the birds perched above! They are healthy and have eaten very well. The waiter was not concerned, nor apologetic...I guess it is a common occurrence. After our "initiation," we moved inside. There is no atmosphere; the service and food preparation are also on the same level. McDonald's might be a better choice.

Cafe Genevieve has a lovely online profile. Enough so that you wouldn't think of wanting to eat anywhere else. We had a lovely appetizer to share, a beet salad with goat cheese in a simple vinaigrette. My husband ordered the salmon medium rare, it was overcooked. I ordered the ratatouille with polenta. Lovely presentation. Vegetables were raw and inedible. Polenta was very chewy with little to no flavor. The server was attentive at first and asked if he could redo the entree. It came back 15 minutes later with the vegetables still undercooked (if cooked at all), eggplant that was like rubber, and a sauce to warm up the underdone, and under seasoned polenta. The server was annoyed and took the dish away. Not even a manager came by to check on us. Needless to say, I would never go back. Additionally, the restaurant failed to report the Open Table reservation, and I had to justify to Open Table that we honored our reservation. So...a salad, one entree, and 2 beverages came to $60+.

My wife and I had a light supper here. We were seated outside at our request. We asked to sit near the sidewalk so we could people watch and they went out of their way to clean a table for us. The salads were great, tomato soup was excellent, fried chicken was little greasy. We ordered a Boston cream pie on the recommendation of the waitress, it was okay but not as special as I expected.

Overall a good experience. Friendly staff with a nice atmosphere, good food, and a great location.

This place was near where we were staying and we walked by it several times, always looked busy. We made reservations for an early dinner on Eclipse Day. Cute place, sat outside. The Watermelon Margarita was great and I'm from Texas. The fried Brussels sprouts were excellent as was the bread. Michael, our waiter, was friendly and humorous. My crispy skin trout was tasty, but not crispy skin. Very disappointed. Husbands Jumbilaya was large and very spicy. Enjoyed the place.
