Awesome place run by awesome people who care about freshness, quality and service
Loved this place from start to finish. We came for our wedding anniversary, and were seated at a table with a hand written card for the occasion. Staff was friendly and fun. The ambiance is romantic, and interesting. All of the food was beyond delicious! The lasagna and cannoli were standouts. Highly recommend!
We were disappointed that we were seated directly next to the ONE other table in the restaurant that was occupied. The occupants were talking and I couldn't even hear our waiter when we was trying to tell us the specials.
The food was good but the quality and quantity did not match the menu prices.
Service was good and the staff tried hard to create a welcoming environment.
Great food with attractive environment , staff is attentive and freindly , food was fabulous we had great antipasto -the mussels were great , we had party of 6 with large verity of dishes , were in sarasota 15 years and can’t belive we didn’t find this gem until now. Only down play is make sure you know what you order they so accommodating but we weren’t clear on the orders so a few things were a bit different than we expected. But there wasn’t a dish I wouldn’t call magnificent
This was the first time we have been to this restaurant and we will definitely be back! Food was amazing, our waiter Tommy was wonderful and the ambiance was a nice change from the beach themed restaurants we always go to. Overall a great dining experience!!!
Amazing service and food! They do a great job at making you feel very special on your birthday! One of my new favorite restaurants in sarasota!
Always love our dining at Gabbianos. Delicious tonight and Robby our water took great care of my food allergies.
Upon entering Cafe Gabbiano we were thrilled to see such an amazing display of wine!! Being avid wine lovers, we were anxious to see the wine menu and the bottle we chose was wonderful. A lovely Chianti which went very well with our meals.
We started with the Buffalo mozzarella and tomato/basil appetizer which was amazing!!
I had the linguine with clams which was awesome! Perfectly Al dente pasta and lots of fresh clams. My sister had the lobster ravioli which she said was just ok; too much tomato and red sauce.
The service was good, but there seemed to be too few servers on staff at the time we were there.
Overall, an excellent dinner and we will definitely go back.
Robbie was fantastic!! Gave recommendations and explained each dish in detail, we will be back and ask for him!
The experience was outstanding. I made the reservation a few months in advance for an Anniversary meal. There was a nice Anniversary card on our table. The server acknowledged it was our Anniversary and took great care of us. After the appetizers and main course, we had desserts on the house. This place is worth every penny!
For anyone who loves filet mignon, I highly recommend it!
I took my husband there to celebrate his birthday and we were very impressed with the service and the food was excellent. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to all our friends. A big "Thank you" to Cafe' Gabbiano's for the wonderful dinner.
Love Love Love this place! Can't wait to come back. The food is amazing! Great wait staff. We had a perfect evening. Group of 6 women. Outstanding!
Went here to celebrate a Birthday while in Siesta Key, and couldn't have been better. The meal was paced very comfortably from Charcuterie, to entree, to dessert. Definitely not a rushed experience so time your dinner accordingly and enjoy some wine.
Great all-around experience, we'll be back.
Best bread I had while in Florida!
Excellent calamari w homemade marinara sauce!
Nice ambiance. Great food. Great Service. The enclosed patio and bar is a nice quiet room with music playing in the background but not too loud. Will make it a regular stop when in Siesta Key.
always a great meal - standard menu + specials + great service...
always worth a trip
Fantastic food! Great ambience . You won’t be disappointed.
The food was fabulous and the service saved the entire experience from being a bust. We were seated at a corner table that has direct exposure to a hurricane force AC vent. After we mentioned our displeasure with our seating, Tiffany, our server, who was awesome, and the manager, immediately changed the airflow without compromising the comfort of the dining room. It’s a must try when you’re in the Sarasota or Siesta Key area.
I chose this place based on reviews. We were celebrating a birthday. The restaurant did not disappoint. From the time they greeted us outside, the entire staff was so nice and helpful. There was so much wine to choose from so we asked for suggestions. The waitress gave us two to taste that she was recommending. We chose and ended up getting 2 bottles. It was perfect! We each ordered something different from homemade ravioli to filet mignon. Everything was so delicious and perfectly cooked. Even the bolognese sauce wasn't just ground beef, it had ground veal and sirloin tips. OMG it was delicious. Then they brought out a huge piece of tiramasu with a candle and sang to the birthday boy (who was turning 69). If you are in the area and want a wonderful dinner, this is the place to go. You will enjoy the entire experience. It's worth it! We will be back!
First time trying this Italian restaurant and it did not disappoint!
Wine was really excellent, food was very delicious.. and great server..
We will most definitely be back here to get our fill for great authentic Italian food
Absolutely terrible service and below average meals.
Cafe Gabianno was recommended by a friend. Good deal for happy hour though the service during this time was okay. Food was excellent and portion size is decent.
Got there in time for happy hour. Sat at the bar. They did not have the wine I wanted so the bartender recommended a different wine which was good. However, when the 4 of us received our bill, he did not charge us happy hour prices. When questioned, he just topped off 2 of the 4 wines (1 was almost still full) and said there, that should cover it. Of course it did not, but in the haste of getting to our table, we just paid the tab. BEWARE - check your bar tab at this place. Everything else was great.
We love this restaurant it has the same quality as any large city restaurant. My wife and I drive 70 miles from Tampa just to eat there. I would recommend this to anyone who has family and friends in town as well as after business meeting dinner. Noah is our go-to waiter he as always taken care of us I am sure the other wait staff is as just as nice. This time we met Pete one of the partners in the restaurant he explained how the chef is from an island off the coast of Naples Italy. ( Not Florida Naples) Spo if you want really good food this is the place. Tampa Mike Formerly jersey mike( not the sub guy.)
We had a group dinner outing to celebrate one of our party's birthdays. We were seated promptly and at a very comfortable table for 6. The ambience was very good and the food was outstanding as usual, yet the entire dinner experience was marred by slow service. We aren't sure if one of our entrees had to be done over forcing them to hold all of our dinners - or if there was another issue in the kitchen, but it took over and hour and a half for our entrees to be served. And since it was after season, the restaurant wasn't extremely busy. We still had an OK time overall, and were comped with a drink for all the delay, but... It really was a shame, since the service in recent past had been as outstanding as the food.
Good service. Knowledgeable server. Husband loved his pasta. My fish was over cooked and overpowered with herbs. Nice wine list with some interesting selections. And there was parking which is always a plus.
Our second time here. Both visits were exceptional. Outstanding food and service. I had the linguine with seafood. The veal chops looked magnificent. That will be my choice next time. Reservations a must in season.
Although the veal and eggplant dishes were good, the seafood dishes were not very good. Sitting on the porch was very crowded and noisy, you felt as if you were sitting at family style tables and it was difficult for the wait staff to serve the table. The light weight curtains were pretty but not helpful as divisions. The inside restaurant was less noisy and the tables were well placed. Perhaps that is a better place to have a table. I have been here before and was not impressed, but tried it again. I probably would not return.
Delicious and relaxing kickoff dinner experience for our special friend’s weekend!
Food was very delicious and the hospitality was great.
We went for my boyfriend birthday and was very satisfied with everything.
Complaint: As a result of our very good experience, courtesy of a friend, I made a reservation for my wife's 75th birthday. When we checked-in on the outside deck, they were aware from Open Table that this was a birthday dinner. The table was good, the waiter was good and the food was good too. However, there was never a courtesy recognition of my wife's birthday (after all 75 years is pretty special). We left with an unnecessary feeling that somehow this wasn't a special dinner...and it should have been.
When I returned home, I had missed a call from Reagan who apologized for the oversight and that the restaurant would be happy to make amends by offering the courtesy birthday dessert at our next reservation. Perhaps I am not grateful enough for the call and offer, but that was very hollow after missing the opportunity to make a great impression during a once-in-a-lifetime birthday event.
Our food was excellent and they were very accommodating to our two grandsons, ages 2 and 3. Would definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed our meal and service. Will visit again next time we are vacationing in Siesta Key. Wish the patio was really outdoors.
Food and service was fantastic, waitress knew how to wait on customer s and accomodate food was delicious and atmosphere is awesome
I had the veal medallions special...outstanding! My husband had the homade gnocchi with Bolognese sauce. Sauce was great but the gnocchi were undercooked. We would have returned the gnocchi but there was a wine dinner going on and they seemed overly busy. Service fluctuated from very attentive to missing. House labelled Montepulciano wine was excellent. We would try again on a non wine dinner night.
Best Restaurant in Siesta Key! Every time we come to Siesta this is my favorite place to dine. Spring Break this year we brought 7 couples and every single person said it was an amazing meal! The staff is always friendly! I am sad I won't be back to Siesta until next year. Anytime you want to start a restaurant in Michigan-I'll be there weekly!
Service was slow but friendly. Food was just okay. We were a little underwhelmed by the truffle pasta and meat and cheese plate and they got the veg part of the salad wrong and forgot one of the cheeses. The friendly gal who brought the appetizer out did bring out the veg we wanted and let us keep the veg they mistakenly brought which was nice. My husband was disappointed we got seated in the louder, very packed secondary room. It was so packed we had to brush past and apologize to another table. Atmosphere was quaint and cozy Italian. Not quite the level of Italian we expected from other reviews, but not bad. Parking was also difficult.
