Cafe Gabbiano Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant is amazing....second time we’ve eaten there in three months....
Service was great an my veal stuffed raviolis topped with bolognaise sauce was to
die for.... dined with four friends an we all loved every bit of our meal!!
Would recommend this restaurant to everyone! 👍
Wait staff was exceptional. Wonderful experience and the food was delicious. Your wine list is fabulous. Lived here almost 50 years and first time eating at your restaurant. We traveled to Italy over the summer and wanted to pretend we were there again. It worked !
Our visit and we will be definitely be back. Our server, David, was outstanding. Wish they used snail bowls instead of bread plates for the sides. Not enough room for the food and it gets cold more quickly. We were not aware that there were different areas for dining. We sat in the patio room, would try a different area next time. Food was great, expansive wine list; even by the glass..
All I can say is WOW! Excellent in every way. Ross took such great care of us. Attentive without being annoying. Food was delivered hot and delicious. Worth the drive! The Truffle Sacchettini was off the chart. My wife and frequently visit Italy and we often set low expectations when eating Italian food stateside. This food was every bit as good with no detail left uncovered.
We were visiting family in the Venice Fla area who have been there before. We had an early reservation and they seated us in the back wine room which was extremely comfortable and romantic. We started with the bruschetta which was very fresh, then had the dover sole which was deboned tableside. The fish was excellent. According to the server, it just arrived that day. So fresh and prepared perfectly. We also had the risotto which was cooked to perfection. The wine list was extensive and had a large range of prices. We will definitely go back every time we visit.
Everything was great! I was annoyed at first because I had told them it was for a special occasion (our anniversary) but then they didn't do anything for it. I don't understand why they even asked if they don't offer anything! Otherwise the food was great and so was the service.
Our group was very disappointed in the menu selection. Entrees did not include soup or salad and outrageously expensive for an Italian type dining. Drinks were also very high in price and mixed drinks skimpy for the price. Definitely not worth the drive especially since we have access to much better dining in the Sarasota, Manatee and Bradenton area.
Dining experience was great. However, very disappointed that Gabbiano's did not honor the
advertised special, 3 courses for $29.95. They were part of Restaurant Week, Oct 2 to Oct 15, 2017.
The SRQ Originals email indicated the offer at approx 50 restaurants included week-ends.
However, Gabbiano's informed us that they did not honor their special on week-ends.
Probably would not have booked with them had I known they "changed the rules of the game"!!!
Entrees were nice size portions and excellent. Yum! Entree pricing was typical. However the wines are very pricey. Eg, $65 for bottle of Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio! Costco sells it for $17.99 a bottle. It’s ok to make a profit but that is way too excessive!
We absolutely loved it !! In a strip-mallish location on the main street with many Daiquiri\beach bars but this did not disappoint. Owner was on the premises working the tables. Tommy was our waiter, attentive and personable without being overbearing. Started with marinated olives and the mesclun salad. Then moved to the Veal special and the Osso Bucco ravioli. Wrapped it up with cappuccino and Key Lime Pie. Awesome from start to finish.
Cafe Gabbiano consistently has the best Italian dishes and freshest seafood on the island of siesta key… I highly recommend the truffle Sachin teeny they make the pasta right there I often order it for a table of three or four people as an appetizer even though it’s on the entrée menu it is worth giving everybody a taste. I have been going to this restaurant for three years now and I’ve taken many people along no matter what they’ve ordered from the menu everyone has always been pleased I would certainly put this on your list of restaurants to try if you’re visiting our area. It is worth mentioning That during the busy season reservations are required word has gotten out and the place fills up quick on the weekends
We went here in March and couldn’t wait to go back. They didn’t disappoint. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. My husband was in heaven through his whole meal and wished we had gone back again. The dessert didn’t disappoint either. The tiramisu was to die for. Norah was our waitress and she was a gem. Thanks for such a wonderful experience. We will be back.
Our dinner was wonderful and the service was very good. The wait staff was very friendly. We are from Pittsburgh and this is our third visit to Siesta Key. We dined at your restaurant last year and this year and will definitely be back next year. Also we think it is very reasonably priced.
