Cafe Gabbiano Ratings and Reviews
A really nice experience. We were seated in a small wine room which reduced the noise significantly. Good food, great wine list, terrific service-YO JORDAN!- ample parking. Gave 4 stars on value because I didn’t pay and didn’t know how to rate it. (So for me it was a 10 star!)
This our go to place for Italian made with love. From mouth watering burata to homemade pasta it never disappoints. They have a great selection of wines at every price point. The staff provides great service and is knowledgeable about the menu. The ultimate treat is their Tiramisu which is just delectable!
A nice menu with classic Italian standards and some interesting other options. I had a house specialty of veal and eggplant with cheese, accompanied by rice and veggies and my husband had a veal stuffed ravioli with meat sauce. We split a house salad which was just the right size. The food was very good and well prepared. Service was very professional. They are only open for dinner and have seating in a couple of indoor dining rooms and outside patio seating. There is ample parking in a lot in front of them. We liked it enough that we are going back tomorrow (ate there Monday). This is peak season in Siesta Key so going to a good restaurant that takes reservations and has parking is top of my list.
Good food. We had to wait awhile, but was good once it arrived. Waiter did a nice job. Noisy in the room we were in. Bar close by. We are coming back and have asked for a different location. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Great wine list but the fine print makes it difficult to read.
While our food and drinks were very good, I was disappointed in the level of service. We were in no hurry but after the adjoining table was seated after us, offered and received drinks and had their food orders taken, we still had not seen our waitress. We had to ask someone to send her to our email table. Once she arrived she was very friendly and helpful with our entree selections, but once again we had to ask for her for our dessert selection and to get the check.
Great ambiance and food...just disappointed a bit with service
Wonderful Italian food right on Siesta Key! So glad we tried it, we will be back. Next time, I will request a table in the wine cellar, didn't realize that part of the restaurant existed until I used the restroom. Our table was nice, but that area was very cool. We will be back!
This was my second time at Cafe Gabbiano. The first time was a Tuesday night around the same time last year. That experience was 5 stars throughout. As a result, when arriving at Siesta Key for a quick weekend and having my daughter drop in last week, was looking forward to a great Saturday night dinner. Big mistake. Had 7 o’clock reservation for three. After 45 minutes we finally received our appetizers. After another hour we finally received our meals. The place was packed, our waiter no where to be found and all we heard was all the tables around us grumbling and complaining. A shame because once the food came out, it was delicious at a reasonable price. I chalk it up to a overbook Saturday and insufficient number of wait staff. I will probably give the place one more try, but not on a weekend.
Unfortunately, we had a very long wait for our entrees. I don't think this was the server's fault.Other diners came and went and we still had no dinner. When it did arrive it was hot and everyone said their's was delicious. I will commend the management for comping the bottle of wine when we expressed our frustration.
We had a lovely dining experience at this restaurant in the center of Siesta Village. We'd asked for a quiet table when we made our reservation and they gave us a nice spot. The restaurant was hopping on a Saturday night
I ordered the linguini with seafood and it was generous and really flavorful. My husband had a fabulous, creamy tortellini dish and our friends said the chicken special was delicious.
The service was friendly and efficient, though not rushed.
Cafe Gabbiano was the perfect choice for dinner with friends. Our server, Robbie, was knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive to us without being obtrusive. The food was outstanding and the chef was more than willing to make a change to my husband’s meal to accommodate his particular taste. We loved the atmosphere: friendly and inviting yet quiet enough that we could easily engage in conversation. Everything was very high quality from the cocktails to the desserts. The prices were very fair for food of such high quality. We would all highly recommend Cafe Gabbiano to visitors to Siesta Key.
We are repeat visitors to Cafe Gabbiano because the food is fresh and delicious, the service is wonderful (ask for Ross as your server, you will be happy you did -- he is attentive, knowledgable, and helpful), the wine list is extensive and interesting -- Ross helped us choose one that tasted and smelled wonderful without breaking the bank, and the desserts are to die for! Our favorite of all the offerings is the select-your-own cheese and meat appetizers. It comes beautifully presented on a thick wood plank. Their burrata is fresh and creamy, the best I've ever had, the smoked procuitto was dry and flavorful, as were the seasoned olives and the warm brie with truffle honey. The entrees are good, too. We like to try different things and haven't had anything we didn't rave about. The one standard is that we make sure someone orders the truffle sachatini in sage butter because they are unique and so delicious. The one off-note on our last visit was overcooked brussel sprouts, but they were tasty and I ate every last one of them. We recommend Cafe Gabbiano with confidence!
Great food . We were first timers . The quality and quantity of food was the best on Siesta . After we left , found out the owner is apparently from the same part of Italy as my family : Ischia . The cooking reflects that region . Hope to say hello on our next trip. You wont be disappointed .
The food and service were excellent and the wine list was fantastic. Having made a reservation weeks in advance I was disappointed, however, to be seated near the bathroom instead of at one of the available tables in the very nice back room lined with wine. Those tables did not fill up during our stay so they weren't being saved for another party.
