Cafe Gabbiano is a 4,000 sqft facility that offers intimate dining as well as larger rooms to host special occasions such as beach weddings and rehearsal dinners. We have an extensive wine list, signature crafted cocktails and a great beer list. We are open daily from 5 PM to 10 PM with Happy Hour 5 PM to 6:30 PM at the bar.
First time there. Good food and service.
Service was good, but waiter was hard to understand. Hollywood caprice turned out to be halibut that was absolutely delicious! Who knew!😂
Thank you Cafe Gabbiano for making our meal one that i will remember for years to come! We were treated like royalty from the time we arrived until the time we left. The food was terrific and our server, Rico, was fabulous. I cant wait to go back!
Had rack of lamb. Very tough.
Wonderful restaurant and great ambiance
Family visiting us from Massachusetts
Service was wonderful and our meals were fantastic.
Loved the excellent food. Nadia our server was great, very friendly and caring!
I'm from CT and we go here 2 or 3 times when we are here. Love the food. My favorite is Vitello Milanese-- amazing! Our waiter, Brian, was terrific. In fact, going back this evening with some friends.
The whole experience was fantastic! Definitely in my top 5 restaurants I've ever been to.
Valentine’s Day evening. Very busy but seated within 5 minutes of our reservation. Food outstanding.
This was my first time there and my last one. Food was not as I expected. I wish it could be different and specially because it was Valentine's day.
Weren’t here today for a Valentines/birthday celebration. Tommy was our waiter and he was excellent. Food was excellent. Wish this place was closer to us but we will try to come back at sometime in the future
Great experience. Excellent food and service. A bit pricey.
Food is very good. It was Valentine's day so we do cut them a little slack but one person ordered a drink and they brought the wrong drink and then charged for 2 drinks. The real debacle was in the waitresses billing. We were Ll given the wrong Bill's. We were charged for the wrong dinners, then when she tried to straighten it out 5 adults were charged for 9 meals, sodas ended up on the wrong bill and incorrect meals were put on the various bills. We really had a good laugh about it but we never really got it straightened out. We just got tired of sending the Bill's back to be corrected so some people paid more for meals they didn't eat. The icing on the cake was those who had leftovers boxed up found when they got home that the meals were switched. We all had someone elses food. I dont know if we had a language problem or the night was so busy, the wait staff was overwhelmed but I would certainly give it another try when it's not in season.
Valentines Day. Reservation ready on time. Again food was very good and service great. Prices in line with upscale venues. Good choice for special occasion.
Cafe Gabbiano's is one of the best restaurants on Siesta Key. The décor is fabulous and the food delicious. It is not a cheap place to eat but worth every penny. The staff are courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. If you need a special place to eat for a special occasion or even if you just want real good food, I highly recommend Cafe Gabbianos.
Great service from Tommy. Our favorite is the wine room.
What wonderful meals we enjoy at Cafe Gabbiano. The service is stupendous, tables placed so each is quiet and the food is amazing.
We were a group of four and I felt it was not up to past standards. I recognize it was a busy night but the prices weren't any lower so expectations shouldn't have to be lowered.
1) Lighting was so high on the walls that the menu couldn't be read. After multiple requests it was adjusted lower so light was reflected on the table without having to shine directly on it.
2) The server pushed a seafood dish with their homemade pasta that was toward the upper end of pricing. While the flavors were good the pasta was rubbery and overcooked.
3) The support serving staff did not speak English. They were unable to fulfill as simple a requests as "could we have a glass of ice".
4) Then the ultimate aggravation after completing our bill and leaving a healthy tip was the primary server rushing back to scoop it up and say just loudly enough for us to hear, "Boy we're swarmed they're really backed up. People are standing everywhere." We were leaving in five to seven minutes of the bill being returned for tip and signature.
I'm a Siesta Key resident and live just around the corner from Gabbiano's. It will be a cold day in you know where before I go there again or take guests.
There are lots of quality restaurants in Sarasota. I suggest you look for one. If you're stuck on Siesta Key try Flavio's. It may not be much better but it certainly won't be as expensive.
Only disappointment was the quanity of my ravioli. I believe it should have been more.
We had an excellent meal and drinks. Everything was wonderful. F
The food was quite good. However, This is the only restaurant on our entire vacation that charged us for a refill of iced tea. Mars the whole experience. It seems so petty, when you're spending this much money, to charge us for another iced tea, when everyone else does it with a smile and for free.
Lovely seafood, good specials of the day. Staff were very attentive with making the room warmer (it was surprisingly cool outside).
Excellent food and service. A quiet find just off the noisy part of town.
Gabbiano's was a favorite place to dine when we lived on Siesta Key years ago. When it was sold eight years ago, we were apprehensive. But the new owner actually improved the venerable restaurant, and it is one of the area's best dining experiences ... especially if you enjoy Italian cuisine.
Great meal at Cafe Gabbiano! The bread was excellent and the portions we're ample. Will definitely come back on our next visit to Siesta Key.
Very nice Italian restaurant that provides very good food. Highly recommend.
Everything was excellent!
We had a very delicious meal, and the wait staff was very attentive! Very nice experience!
There was a time when we would have put Gabbiano's at the top of our list for dining out. Not anymore. The quality has declined greatly over the last couple years. It seems like a chain that rushes you thru just to get another customer seated. The portions are smaller and the prices are still the same. Also the quality of the food itself is not the same. We made reservations 3 days ahead and when we got there we were seated right by the door. I asked to be seated elsewhere and was told that was not possible. It was our anniversary and we wanted it to be bit more quiet than people coming and going constantly. If we wanted that type of atmosphere we would have gone to Appleby's. It will be a long time before we go back, if ever. It is a shame because it was always our go to for Italian cuisine. This was our second experience for this service and quality. We always give a second chance but this time we decided there will not be a third.
Dawn, thank you for taking the time to write this review! We are sorry that your most recent meal with us was not like recent dining experiences. We will be sure to pass these comments along to our staff to try and prevent these types of problems from happening again. We hope you change your mind about joining us again.
Wow. What a great evening. Our food was amazing!
Chix cacciatore ( special), veal rollitini (Special) and chix Marsala were beautifully presented and delicious. The chicken was so tender and the flavors were yumm.
Chocolate lava cake sealed the deal. So good. Great ambience.
Even better than past experiences. Can’t wait to return!
Food, service and waiter were all great. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience
My grouper was dry. Small room was noisy. People were packed .
Awesome cuisine, as always. And service by Nadia - outstanding. This is the total package. Nothing is missing or misses the mark in this wonderful dining experience.
Food was exceptional. Service was spot on. Excellent server and pace of bringing out the meal was perfect.
We were seated promptly and had our favorite bottle Cabernet, Napa silver oak, at a great value . The mussels were the most amazing mussels ever! We had them make them fra diavlo. You can’t find mussels better than those . The shrimp in my squid ink pasta were gigantic. We even had dessert trying to make the night last . The chocolate lava cake had Heath bar candy on it . Overall, we are in town for a week and are heading back tonight for another delicious authentic Italian meal before heading back to Boston .
Arrived on time for a pre-theatre reservation. The server was aware of our time requirement as I had noted it when making the reservation on Open Table. Great start! The starter we ordered was served lickety split. The bruschetta was tasty, but the bread was fresh and not toasted as much as expected so that the toast bent when picked up and the topping fell back to the plate. At least it didn’t land in my lap. I had Langostinos over fettuccine with Fra Diavola sauce. It had just the right amount of kick. The Langostinos were cooked perfectly. My spouse had chicken parmigiana which was also very good. I was surprised that rigatoni was used as the side. I would expect something more delicate with the chicken. The flavors were great. I would skip the cannoli. There were so few chocolate chips that I don’t remember them. The shell was tasteless. Not up to par with the rest of the food. $9 for 1 four inch piece was way over priced!
Awesome food and wine right in the middle of Siesta Key Village. One of our favorite places to eat!
A wonderful dining experience. Food was so good! Will be back.
