Very nice server but failed to inform of specials, features, sushi, etc. Tuna appetizer good but the chips not good. Sea Bass had a slight fishy smell.
We shared three items, an app, a salad, and an entree, we were charged a “sharing fee “. In a bar restaurant that serves small plates, should not charge a sharing fee. We never asked to split plates.
It was amazing ! , the food and drink menu 🤤.
Ambiance was good. Service was slow Food was good. The menu is different, definitely check it out before deciding if it’s for you.
The food was delicious as always, but the waitress was short and abrupt and also messed up on the bill for an individual in the party. She also didn't seem to know the drink menu well. I would still recommend this restaurant as this is the first time I've had an issue with the wait staff.
Our group of friends had a great Friday night meal--special food and great wine. The appetizer selection was the best part!
Amazing food & service! I loved this place, and we will definitely come back soon
Excellent cocktails and creative menu. Service was very prompt and courteous. Will definitely be back.
We are regulars at cafe fresco. We were excited to have a family brunch before the parade. We had plenty of room at our table. Our food was well prepared and our drinks were ideally made. Our service was the worst it has ever been at this location . I don’t know if our server was recovering from a saint Patrick’s day hangover or was just a complete space cadet. She messed up serving the wrong person the wrong beverages. She also kept putting the wrong plates in front of the wrong person. It was almost like she was guessing. She also brought out food we did not order and left it on our bill. Fortunately the management was able to correct everything and make things alright. I understand that everyone has their days and everyone makes mistakes, but, when you are dropping close to $25/person, you’d hope to have a better than average, slightly nicer experience than dining at shoneys.
Always a solid choice. The food is consistently excellent. The decor, once very avant-garde for Harrisburg, feels like it’s getting a little long in the tooth. It’s still ok but you have a lot of new restaurants who have opened over the past few yea
The cafe fresco is in a good location in center city of Harrisburg. The ambiance is excellent, the food superb and the servuce is the best. Zineb was the best server.
This was the first time my wife and I dined here. They sat us right inside the door in a little private/secluded table. The table location was awesome for our date night and allowed for great conversation! We really couldn't tell that we were in a restaurant. The only people that we could see was our waitress when she stopped by and the occasional passer by out on the street. My wife had the Mongolian Short Ribs and I had the Tuna Steak. For Dessert we shared the Bread Pudding. All the food was excellent! We will be back!
Great place
Great food from appetizers to main meals and deserts. Unique choices for a exciting dining experience. Great wait staff.
Great meal!
It was an excellent meal. All 4 of us were very satisfied with our appetizers, main course and dessert.
Two couples for a nice dinner before the Harrisburg Symphony concert. First time at Café Fresco for all of us. Had wonderful cocktails, followed by dinner specialty of the day (Chilean Sea Bass), and it was terrific. John was our service person, and he did a great job of informing us of food and drink choices, made sure that we were well tended to. It was a very nice experience. We will go again!
Excellent food and service. John our waiter was very good. Highly recommend Cafe Fresco. Great place for dinner and drinks.
If you want a good dining experience, go to Fresco and ask for Jon. He’s the best in the city!
The service was amazing, the drinks strong, the food tasty and the atmosphere inviting. What more do you need?
The chef is very creative and mixes Asian and American flavors! We had edamame ravioli, crab stuffed avacado paired with a salad with crispy wonton, beet risotto and Chilean sea bass over noodles. The Chilean Sea Bass melted in our mouth! We also had banana spring rolls with ice cream for dessert! Everything was delicious! Our waitress Zineb was personable and provided excellent service 🙂 We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back!
Arrived at the restaurant. Immediately made to feel welcomed, and appreciative of our business. Server was excellent, and the food was even better. Appetizer we had the seafood pizza. Delicious. For Entrees had the Ribeye, and Pad Tai add Shrimp. Both were excellent. Got a BBQ Chicken pizza to go for my son. He enjoyed as well.
The food was amazing, the decor inside was relaxing and beautiful, and John, our waiter, was fantastic! Will come back next time we are in town!
We had a great evening at Cafe Fresco! Everything was excellent!
The drinks and the calamari was amazing. The wagyu steak of the day was a bit pricey at over $50 but it was also very good and perfectly prepared. The only thing that could have been improved in the food we ordered was my daughter's duck. The skin was not crispy enough and the fat had not been rendered enough. It was a bit fatty and rubbery, but the duck meat itself had great flavor.
We have dined there a number of times and always have a good experience. A very good selection of appetizers.
We don't live in Harrisburg, but visit often. We first went to Cafe Fresco three years ago and have fallen in love with it. Staff is the perfect combination of friendly and helpful, without getting in the way of the meal. Food is creative, delicious and appropriately portioned (i.e., its not tiny food). Also perfectly prepared every time we have been. They also have great specials which more often than not hook me in.
The staff takes the place from very good to excellent. We went this past weekend and our server, John (who you should ask for), really made the meal for us. He paced it perfectly and seemed to know exactly when to clear and ask if we wanted another round.
Great for a date or for going out with friends, we genuinely enjoy going.
The food was delicious as always and our waiter was great too! He was very personable and observant!
Fantastic!!
Fantastic meal, fantastic service from John. Highly recommend.
The service was excellent, but that is the end of the positive part of the review. The food was mediocre at best and the bar recipe cocktails poorly conceived. To be specific, the risotto with the pork chop was gummy, the tea smoked duck short on flavor, the crispy pork rolls crispy but lacking flavor, and the tuna tartare appetizer unseasoned. Of our two desserts, the dip sum was yummy, but the chocolate cake creme brullee sorely in need of vanilla bean. The menu was exciting, but food poorly made.
This was my first visit here, but it won't be my last. Excellent menu with lots of options. Everything was well prepared in both flavor profile and presentation. Portions were appropriate for pricing, and service was superb. The coconut-mango sea scallops over red beet risotto was simply amazing! A great pre-symphony location for dinner with friends.
Disappointing dinner. Menu pricing has increased substantially. Most martinis were $12.00 or more. Salads were pricy. Main courses were pushing $28.00 and up, rather high For Harrisburg. Food was average plus we had to ask for bread. Restaurant was empty for a Saturday night. Maybe people knew something we didn’t. Our tab was over $60.00 for two salads with shrimp and a beer plus martini. Would not rush back.
Our waiter John was amazing! Honestly the absolute best service we have had in Harrisburg yet!
Was visiting Harrisburg with the family. This spot was reccomended. Simply Great food and great service. Authentic and unique.
Superb! The hostess greeted us with warmth & welcome, our server was bright,
friendly and attentive, and the food was truly extraordinary!
My cocktail was great & completely unique, appetizer was excellent, and the
special was great! Truly unique tastes, very creative & inventive!
Conveniently located near the Pride of the Susquehanna (where we had a Groupon boat tour scheduled) - and across the street from a parking garage - Cafe Fresco is a gem. Their brunch menu had traditional and Asian fusion choices - something for everyone. We started with fresh donuts served with both a Nutella and Lemon dipping sauce - served in a Chinese take out box - very pretty and incredibly delicious. Two of our group had the fried PB&J (hey - we were walking nearly a mile to the boat launch :)) which was deliciously decadent. One of us had the French toast - which had a marscapone topping that was wonderful. One of us had the Egg BLT which featured perfectly prepared bacon and was served on toasted bread. The side of Fresco home fries is an interesting and tasty (non-greasy) mix of crispy potato cubes, edamame, corn and red pepper. With soft drinks/coffee - we spent under $70 including tip (for four). Very good value and exceptionally adept service.
Food was overpriced and mediocre. Service was good.
We were greater & seated immediately. The drinks from the bar took some time, our server was "in the weeds" so she did come to the table quickly, her return took some time. When dinner was served not all of our food was delivered & what didn't make it to the table was not made. So they made it on the fly. Don't know if it was her mistake or the kitchen's, we had to remind her it was missing so my guess is it was her mistake. She was very knowledgeable & friendly. I did not say anything at the restaurant & would not have said anything if I hadn't received this survey. My husband is in food service & I had been for years, our waitress was very good & handled the situation like a pro!
Started the evening with a few seasonal drinks which were great! I recommend the cucumber martini. Our table server was excellent. We had the tuna tartare, scallop and Pom frites appetizers. All of which were very good. Meals did not disappoint! Overall, excellent experience
I was at Café Fresco for Brunch with friends. The food, service and drinks were all amazing. I was with two friends who had never gone to this restaurant and they enjoyed is greatly. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion as it never disappoints. Also, kudos to the amazing bartender Tyler! :)
