Great casual place with a great atmosphere for any occasion. The small plate approach is a terrific option for trying a variety of items. The mushroom potstickers are above 5 stars with layers of flavors and a subtle spicy kick at the finish. Scallops were perfectly seasoned & excellent . The bread budding was phenomenal and so was the key lime pie martini!
We had a superb meal. Hostess and sever were very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Would definitely return!
Second time in, second success. The food is great, as is the service. They could use more craft beer on the menu, and the music is sort of baffling. Like electronica written for Miami Beach elevators. Outdoor seating available if you want to watch trucks cough their way down 2nd Street all night.
As always, we were not disappointed with our dining experience. Greeted by a smiling hostess who took the time to ask “ how are you all tonight”, than took us directly to a wonderful table. Our server was equally friendly and very knowledgeable about that evenings specials and drink menu. Dinner was delicious. The owner stopped by to see how everything was. Ended the meal with a few delicious desserts! Looking forward to our next dining experience there!
The food is really good, especially the small plates (/appetizers), but the what really stands out is the quality of the cocktails - excellent!
Found Cafe Fresco for brunch the night before, conveniently down the street from our hotel. The food was amazing. The sugared donuts starter couldn’t have been better. The menu had the perfect amount of diversity without being overwhelming. Only complaint was that the service was a tad bit slow considering the restaurant was not full.
Picked it because of the high rating on OpenTable... and I’m not sure what other reviewers see in this place. Food was ok, but expensive for what you got. The Mongolian short rib all though tasty was tiny in size. The restaurant was nearly empty, and took a long time to get drinks. Bartender poured a glass of red wine and pored all the sediments into the glass and my friend drank some of it not realizing it. Won’t be going back. Don’t take your European guests here for dinner.
This place is almost always fantastic and has eclectic excellent "fusion" of different food styles. Bar mixes great cocktails. People watching on street seating is fun.
On this trip I was disappointed with how slow food came out for Mother's day brunch.
For a last minute reservation and quick find through Map Quest this restaurant was perfect. Apparently it was also prom night (Friday) so service was not as quick but the drinks and food were pretty good. Definitely will eat here again as a pit stop to Hershey Park with the kids. Happy Hour drinks are an awesome deal and drinks are quite good. The pizza was surprisingly good as was the pork belly, sea bass and scallops.
Went to Cafe Fresco to celebrate wife and son's birthday. Food and service were excellent! Started off with cocktails and and delicious appetizers. Wide variety of menu choices and whole family loved what they ordered. Brought a birthday cake which they were happy to serve. Will definitely come back and recommend to all friends
Trevor was our server and he is excellent! He is very friendly and knowledgable of the menu. We enjoyed our Szecheuan shrimp appetizer followed by the delicious Kobe burger and I had the crabcake. Unfortunately, we did not have room for dessert but I highly recommend the doughnuts or peanut butter tarte. (we have eaten here many times and still love it) Cafe Fresco always has great food and service and Trevor is one of the best - so ask for him!
The food was exceptional!
It was fantastic, as it always is. So wonderfully consistent!
Great experience! Boyfriend and I wanted to try somewhere new for date night and we’re happy with our choice. Service was a little slow but our waiter easily made up for it with his kind personality. Food and drinks were delicious!
We had an early evening business meal at Café Fresco, because we knew their great food, drinks and atmosphere would generate a good conversational setting. For drinks, we started with a basic Lemondrop Martini and a Black and Smokey (a mix of spiced rum, dark cacao, cinnamon bitters and some other stuff) delicious. Appetizers included the edamame, tuna tartare and karaage, a Japanese chicken dish.) All were as usual, perfectly done and delicious. Dinners includes scallops on black risotto; filet mignon with smashed redskins and crispy Brussel sprouts; and red curry peanut chicken. They were thoroughly enjoyed by each of us, cooked as requested, and served in a reasonable time.
Fresco is a go to place on Second Street in Harrisburg. The owners and staff take pride in their cocktails, their menu, and their service.
Very nice server but failed to inform of specials, features, sushi, etc. Tuna appetizer good but the chips not good. Sea Bass had a slight fishy smell.
We shared three items, an app, a salad, and an entree, we were charged a “sharing fee “. In a bar restaurant that serves small plates, should not charge a sharing fee. We never asked to split plates.
It was amazing ! , the food and drink menu 🤤.
Ambiance was good. Service was slow Food was good. The menu is different, definitely check it out before deciding if it’s for you.
The food was delicious as always, but the waitress was short and abrupt and also messed up on the bill for an individual in the party. She also didn't seem to know the drink menu well. I would still recommend this restaurant as this is the first time I've had an issue with the wait staff.
Our group of friends had a great Friday night meal--special food and great wine. The appetizer selection was the best part!
Amazing food & service! I loved this place, and we will definitely come back soon
Excellent cocktails and creative menu. Service was very prompt and courteous. Will definitely be back.
We are regulars at cafe fresco. We were excited to have a family brunch before the parade. We had plenty of room at our table. Our food was well prepared and our drinks were ideally made. Our service was the worst it has ever been at this location . I don’t know if our server was recovering from a saint Patrick’s day hangover or was just a complete space cadet. She messed up serving the wrong person the wrong beverages. She also kept putting the wrong plates in front of the wrong person. It was almost like she was guessing. She also brought out food we did not order and left it on our bill. Fortunately the management was able to correct everything and make things alright. I understand that everyone has their days and everyone makes mistakes, but, when you are dropping close to $25/person, you’d hope to have a better than average, slightly nicer experience than dining at shoneys.
This has been our “go to” romantic dinner spot since we’ve been dating 6 months! Try to reserve the wrap around table near the front door for near total privacy. Perfect service, original delicious dishes that are artfully presented. The scallops appetizer is one of our favorites! Very good wine list and interesting original cocktails.
Planned my birthday dinner here on the trip home from vacation. We loved the Feng-shui inspired setting and our private little dining shell. Our server Trevor was delightful and made sure everything was just perfect! If you like brussel sprouts, you MUST try the crispy brussel sprouts appetizer prepared with wasabi honey mustard, bacon, and gorgonzola. It was delicious. I chose the coconut-mango scallops with roasted red beet risotto for my main and it was as good as it sounds! Very enjoyable evening in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.
Always a solid choice. The food is consistently excellent. The decor, once very avant-garde for Harrisburg, feels like it’s getting a little long in the tooth. It’s still ok but you have a lot of new restaurants who have opened over the past few yea
The cafe fresco is in a good location in center city of Harrisburg. The ambiance is excellent, the food superb and the servuce is the best. Zineb was the best server.
This was the first time my wife and I dined here. They sat us right inside the door in a little private/secluded table. The table location was awesome for our date night and allowed for great conversation! We really couldn't tell that we were in a restaurant. The only people that we could see was our waitress when she stopped by and the occasional passer by out on the street. My wife had the Mongolian Short Ribs and I had the Tuna Steak. For Dessert we shared the Bread Pudding. All the food was excellent! We will be back!
Great food from appetizers to main meals and deserts. Unique choices for a exciting dining experience. Great wait staff.
It was an excellent meal. All 4 of us were very satisfied with our appetizers, main course and dessert.
Two couples for a nice dinner before the Harrisburg Symphony concert. First time at Café Fresco for all of us. Had wonderful cocktails, followed by dinner specialty of the day (Chilean Sea Bass), and it was terrific. John was our service person, and he did a great job of informing us of food and drink choices, made sure that we were well tended to. It was a very nice experience. We will go again!
Excellent food and service. John our waiter was very good. Highly recommend Cafe Fresco. Great place for dinner and drinks.
If you want a good dining experience, go to Fresco and ask for Jon. He’s the best in the city!
The service was amazing, the drinks strong, the food tasty and the atmosphere inviting. What more do you need?
The chef is very creative and mixes Asian and American flavors! We had edamame ravioli, crab stuffed avacado paired with a salad with crispy wonton, beet risotto and Chilean sea bass over noodles. The Chilean Sea Bass melted in our mouth! We also had banana spring rolls with ice cream for dessert! Everything was delicious! Our waitress Zineb was personable and provided excellent service 🙂 We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back!
Arrived at the restaurant. Immediately made to feel welcomed, and appreciative of our business. Server was excellent, and the food was even better. Appetizer we had the seafood pizza. Delicious. For Entrees had the Ribeye, and Pad Tai add Shrimp. Both were excellent. Got a BBQ Chicken pizza to go for my son. He enjoyed as well.
The food was amazing, the decor inside was relaxing and beautiful, and John, our waiter, was fantastic! Will come back next time we are in town!
