Our favorite restaurant in Downtown Harrisburg. Food is always fantastic regardless of what we order, wait staff was excellent! And atmosphere is cool jazz cozy and conversations can easily be had.
Excellent choice, I can always count on great service and delicious food! Definitely a must try if you are in town for the first time!
Had to wait even though we had a reservation. Service took forever tho server was very nice. Food was average. Drinks were great.
Everything is lacking here
Birthday dinner! Cocktails, food, and service are top notch! Tyler created some new cocktails that are delicious! It might be nice to see the food menu change a bit. It’s been a few years. Love this place! My favorite in Harrisburg!
Great experience, very good dishes with the ability to try many different styles of food. With four of us there we shared 11 dishes. All of them were excellent.
Always a great dinner here! I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. The food and service is excellent. The specialty martinis are also incredible. If you need a sure thing for dinner or happy hour. Get to Cafe Fresco downtown - and ask for Trevor as your server. He’s awesome!
Great just server didn’t seem like she wanted to be there.
I ordered the cashew chicken with broccoli and really enjoyed it. I recommend this place to anyone staying in downtown HBG.
I can always count on terrific food and a great atmosphere. Our server was excellent!
Our server was so accommodating and on point! I’m sorry that I don’t remember his name! Totally recommend this place for any occasion or regular dining! My mother in law who can be a fussy eater practically licked her plate!
Food and service were excellent . Cory was a fabulous waiter
Food is fantastic. Super
Noisy. Can not hear yourself think
This was my wife and I’s second time here. Food was very good. I got the short ribs. The portion was kind of small. My wife got the filet lo mein. She couldn’t finish hers. I had 2 IPAs from a national brewery. My wife had 2 apricot cosmos. She said they were good.
It would be nice that a local restaurant would offer more of a local beer variety rather than Troegs. There are a lot of good local craft breweries in central PA.
Great electic menu! Nice Vibe! Good Service! Very interesting menu selections.
Great casual place with a great atmosphere for any occasion. The small plate approach is a terrific option for trying a variety of items. The mushroom potstickers are above 5 stars with layers of flavors and a subtle spicy kick at the finish. Scallops were perfectly seasoned & excellent . The bread budding was phenomenal and so was the key lime pie martini!
We had a superb meal. Hostess and sever were very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Would definitely return!
Second time in, second success. The food is great, as is the service. They could use more craft beer on the menu, and the music is sort of baffling. Like electronica written for Miami Beach elevators. Outdoor seating available if you want to watch trucks cough their way down 2nd Street all night.
As always, we were not disappointed with our dining experience. Greeted by a smiling hostess who took the time to ask “ how are you all tonight”, than took us directly to a wonderful table. Our server was equally friendly and very knowledgeable about that evenings specials and drink menu. Dinner was delicious. The owner stopped by to see how everything was. Ended the meal with a few delicious desserts! Looking forward to our next dining experience there!
The food is really good, especially the small plates (/appetizers), but the what really stands out is the quality of the cocktails - excellent!
Found Cafe Fresco for brunch the night before, conveniently down the street from our hotel. The food was amazing. The sugared donuts starter couldn’t have been better. The menu had the perfect amount of diversity without being overwhelming. Only complaint was that the service was a tad bit slow considering the restaurant was not full.
Best happy hour around and perfect place to bring friends together. The korege is my absolute favorite followed by the roasted Brussels sprouts but everything on the menu is outstanding.
Picked it because of the high rating on OpenTable... and I’m not sure what other reviewers see in this place. Food was ok, but expensive for what you got. The Mongolian short rib all though tasty was tiny in size. The restaurant was nearly empty, and took a long time to get drinks. Bartender poured a glass of red wine and pored all the sediments into the glass and my friend drank some of it not realizing it. Won’t be going back. Don’t take your European guests here for dinner.
This place is almost always fantastic and has eclectic excellent "fusion" of different food styles. Bar mixes great cocktails. People watching on street seating is fun.
On this trip I was disappointed with how slow food came out for Mother's day brunch.
For a last minute reservation and quick find through Map Quest this restaurant was perfect. Apparently it was also prom night (Friday) so service was not as quick but the drinks and food were pretty good. Definitely will eat here again as a pit stop to Hershey Park with the kids. Happy Hour drinks are an awesome deal and drinks are quite good. The pizza was surprisingly good as was the pork belly, sea bass and scallops.
Went to Cafe Fresco to celebrate wife and son's birthday. Food and service were excellent! Started off with cocktails and and delicious appetizers. Wide variety of menu choices and whole family loved what they ordered. Brought a birthday cake which they were happy to serve. Will definitely come back and recommend to all friends
Trevor was our server and he is excellent! He is very friendly and knowledgable of the menu. We enjoyed our Szecheuan shrimp appetizer followed by the delicious Kobe burger and I had the crabcake. Unfortunately, we did not have room for dessert but I highly recommend the doughnuts or peanut butter tarte. (we have eaten here many times and still love it) Cafe Fresco always has great food and service and Trevor is one of the best - so ask for him!
The food was exceptional!
It was fantastic, as it always is. So wonderfully consistent!
Great experience! Boyfriend and I wanted to try somewhere new for date night and we’re happy with our choice. Service was a little slow but our waiter easily made up for it with his kind personality. Food and drinks were delicious!
We had an early evening business meal at Café Fresco, because we knew their great food, drinks and atmosphere would generate a good conversational setting. For drinks, we started with a basic Lemondrop Martini and a Black and Smokey (a mix of spiced rum, dark cacao, cinnamon bitters and some other stuff) delicious. Appetizers included the edamame, tuna tartare and karaage, a Japanese chicken dish.) All were as usual, perfectly done and delicious. Dinners includes scallops on black risotto; filet mignon with smashed redskins and crispy Brussel sprouts; and red curry peanut chicken. They were thoroughly enjoyed by each of us, cooked as requested, and served in a reasonable time.
Fresco is a go to place on Second Street in Harrisburg. The owners and staff take pride in their cocktails, their menu, and their service.
Very nice server but failed to inform of specials, features, sushi, etc. Tuna appetizer good but the chips not good. Sea Bass had a slight fishy smell.
We shared three items, an app, a salad, and an entree, we were charged a “sharing fee “. In a bar restaurant that serves small plates, should not charge a sharing fee. We never asked to split plates.
It was amazing ! , the food and drink menu 🤤.
Ambiance was good. Service was slow Food was good. The menu is different, definitely check it out before deciding if it’s for you.
The food was delicious as always, but the waitress was short and abrupt and also messed up on the bill for an individual in the party. She also didn't seem to know the drink menu well. I would still recommend this restaurant as this is the first time I've had an issue with the wait staff.
Our group of friends had a great Friday night meal--special food and great wine. The appetizer selection was the best part!
Amazing food & service! I loved this place, and we will definitely come back soon
Excellent cocktails and creative menu. Service was very prompt and courteous. Will definitely be back.
We are regulars at cafe fresco. We were excited to have a family brunch before the parade. We had plenty of room at our table. Our food was well prepared and our drinks were ideally made. Our service was the worst it has ever been at this location . I don’t know if our server was recovering from a saint Patrick’s day hangover or was just a complete space cadet. She messed up serving the wrong person the wrong beverages. She also kept putting the wrong plates in front of the wrong person. It was almost like she was guessing. She also brought out food we did not order and left it on our bill. Fortunately the management was able to correct everything and make things alright. I understand that everyone has their days and everyone makes mistakes, but, when you are dropping close to $25/person, you’d hope to have a better than average, slightly nicer experience than dining at shoneys.
