Cafe Fleuri Ratings and Reviews
As I was leaving there was a wedding in progress — a glowing indication that the surroundings and ambiance were beautiful. The actual brunch experience, however, I found lacking.
We attended the 1:30 sitting of City Brunch this past Sunday. I wish they treated the 1:30 sitting with more care, as the food was picked over and mostly cold. I was left without flatware on more than one occasion and my water glass was never refilled. I was also surprised how small the selection was — I suppose I am used to the Four Seasons. What I did try was very good (when it wasn’t cold). The omelette station was superb! My guests also enjoyed the chocolate fountain.
I am giving Cafe Fleuri the benefit of doubt that it was a timing issue with the Holiday and it isn’t indicative of their offerings.
A very light and airy place for a business lunch with excellent service and good food. I had a burger which was slightly over cooked but tasty. Fries were disappointing. My lunch companion had chicken pot pie which was deconstructed and looked good but very rich. Prices are high. Most men were wearing suits or jacket and tie.
We were very disappointed with breakfast Cafe Fleuri. The room looks a bit worn and the server first rushed us with trying to take our orders and then disappeared, so after about 15 minutes, another server finally came by.
The bacon was not good quality and the sausage was mushy. No one ever came by to refill water glasses. The staff seemed much more intent on rushing breakfast parties along so they could prepare for brunch.
I wouldn't go back.
Wonderful experience at the Saturday Chocolate Bar. Everything was of high quality, wonderfully presented and delicious! Our server, Juan, was superb as well. Never did we have an empty coffee cup or water glass. He was always present however we never felt smothered. We cannot wait to return!
Cafe Fleuri was unable to seat us at our reservation time because they had an electrical issue. Even though there were guests already dining in the restaurant, the host said they were unable to seat additional guests at that time. So unfortunately I cannot provide a review regarding the food (this was going to be my first visit). Since the ratings above were required, I had to put in 1 star.
We went for the chocolate buffet. It was amazing. I knew I couldn’t eat as much as I paid but, I wanted just once to eat all I wanted and not have to pick 1 thing out of 50 to try. Although, I kind of did have to pick because I couldn’t eat 1 of everything there. It was all delicious.
I have been in search of a spectacular brunch for some time now and found it right here in downtown Boston. The wide and deep variety of choices went beyond my expectations especially with the breakfast offerings and seafood. The only issue I had was with the chicken selection and that was a bit dry and tasteless...but if chicken is what turns your nose up at trying this establishment you are missing out on a great opportunity. The only downside is that the mimosa could have been included in the price.
We went to the Chocolate Bar to celebrate our daughter's 21 birthday. It was fantastic! The selection was outstanding and everything was delicious. Staff were accommodating and friendly. It's not an every week type of occasion - it definitely calls for a special occasion.
New Year's Day Brunch 2018.
Exceeded all expectations. Amazing selection of high quality food: raw seafood, omelet bar, carving bar, pastries, desserts, salads, fresh fruits and berries. It was totally fantastic, plus a lovely jazz trio. Will definitely go again.
The restaurant was really cold. Very few hot food options, which was disappointing especially in this freezing weather. For this price , $110/person, you would expect much more good food options and a nice experience, not like feeling freezing while having the brunch.
We went for the Chocolate Bar. It was amazing! So many different chocolate desserts. They had a donut wall, a giant chocolate fountain with multiple items to dip - marshmallows, pretzels, and rice krispie treats to name a few.
They had a live band that was playing Christmas music but it wasn't intrusive - it was just right. Santa Claus was there and went around to the different tables offering to have pictures taken.
The service was excellent. This was the second time we have gone and it was just as good as the first time.
I would definitely recommend it for anyone with children or who has a chocoholic in the family! So much chocolate! It makes for a fun experience that you will talk about for years.
Very nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted on arrival, and had our seasonal photo taken with Santa! Then we were shown to our table and brought a mimosa. The rest was up to us as it was a buffet set up. There was a huge choice of different types of food all of which were well presented and tasty. The waiters were personable and attentive, topping up our water glasses and taking away our plates promptly. The atmosphere was good with a band playing with a some couples dancing.
Delicious and impressively vast offerings at this Sun after Thanksgiving brunch. All the usual suspects but an appreciated and well executed focus on local and seasonal ingredients (seafood, award winning local donuts, fresh autumn veggies, even house pickled veggies)
Loved the jazz trio playing. We had lovely table by window, and would have had a less pleasant experience if seated at an interior table without any view, which seemed a bit claustrophobic. Only major complaint was that website linked from OpenTable’s website listed price as $75 pp. We were handed a bill for $95 pp. Not sure if this was a special holiday brunch (Santa was there after all, which was also not indicated on website) or the price has increased and the website is outdated. Minor complaint was service could have been more attentive, clearing dishes and replacing silverware. But, as Hotel brunches go, the food was fresh, there were multiple somethings for everyone, and the offerings were more creative and tasty than others. Would definitely go again if occasion presented itself.
The fact that they increased the price after thanksgiving, this chocolate brunch that we had was not as good as it would have been. I was underwhelmed with the chocolate buffet to be honest. I expected so much from this chocolate buffet and didn't really feel satisfied with the price I paid and the chocolates I eat. I would say their afternoon tea is so much better and worth your time and money. Service and ambiance is always great at this hotel though!
Thanksgiving buffet with everything you can imagine! The standouts for me were the clam chowder, lobster Mac & Cheese, and baked haddock. The turkey and beef were a touch over cooked as well as the salmon en pastry. I would have liked a green vegetable- green beans or spinach or broccoli. But the chocolate fountain and chocolate croissant pudding with ice cream was the perfect ending!
Visiting Boston for my first Thanksgiving. An excellent choice with delicious seafood, roast turkey and beef, duck, venison, seasonal vegetables and salads and an amazing array of desserts including delicious creme brûlée, chocolate fountain and so much more! Mimosas, soft drink and coffee all included in the one price with excellent service!
This is definitely a place for a special occasion. Given the price for a holiday brunch, it is not something most people could afford to do often, but it is worth it if you want a memorable meal in a truly elegant setting. And if you enjoy fancy food, and appreciate an artful presentation, you won't be disappointed. I would say it is on a par with what you would find at a luxury hotel in NYC.
