Cafe Fleuri Ratings and Reviews
We still continue to like this place, but they are slipping. The service at the table is minimal to none-as having to catch the servers eye for any help or for more orange juice. The shrimp yesterday was not as fresh as before, several other items were not even warm--bacon, sausage and chocolate bread pudding to name a few. The final insult of the morning was when we were given a survey card which was dirty.Attention to detail is very important
My wife and I were celebrating my Birthday! We went to the afternoon Chocolate Buffet. There were so many delicious selections to choose from. I loved all the decadent Chocolate choices-it was fun to go back to eat all the desserts that I can only dream about during the rest of the year-the best part is I can eat them all for the Birthday Feast!
One of the finest Sunday brunches you will find. From raw bar to carving stations, the brunch had almost unlimited options. The wonderful dessert bar with made to order treats as well as a "donut wall" was a big hit with the children and parents alike. This is the place to have brunch when it Boston.
My husband and I first had Sunday brunch here the day after our wedding in 2014. We returned this week to celebrate our third anniversary. The brunch offers such a wide variety of foods and the service is impeccable. There's never enough room in my stomach to try all the delicious foods and desserts available.
A very nice experience. It was my daughter's birthday (I only mentioned it during the reservation process because I was asked) and she was presented with a delightful little treat. Everyone involved was wonderful, but the gentleman operating the crepe station was truly exceptional.
Chocolate lovers paradise! Went here for a bridal shower chocolate fix. The Chocolate Bar on Saturdays is wonderful. Wide variety of chocolate desserts-donuts wall, crepe station and ice cream bar. Lovely quiet live music playing added to the atmosphere. Service was fine -even brought out a special plate of desserts to recognize the occasion. Thanks for the extra touch.
Definitely put this on your to-do list in Boston. Go hungry.
On the plus side, the food was fantastic, as was the live jazz band. There was a raw/sushi bar, hand carved serrano ham, and the best pastries I've ever had at brunch. On the negative side, the decor is cheesy, outdated and stayed, given the pretensions. And worse of all was the bill. $75 without alcohol per person. We are not very big eaters so it is super expensive per plate. I don't think I'll come back again, there are too many other outstanding options for better value. Too bad though, this could have become a regular spot.
Can't beat the food quality and variety anywhere in Boston. Absolutely the best brunch locally. Service on my last visit was sub-par, however. Had to enlist help of someone else's waiter to get my check as our guy was MIA for 20 min when we could have used drink/coffee refills. Frustrating to have to swivel-head for 20 min to find your own service staff at any restaurant, let alone a high-end spot like this. However, that frustration did not affect my party's perspective that the brunch itself was just phenomenal.
I have to say that this was the best Sunday brunch I have had. My son and I were celebrating my birthday and we plan to return for his birthday next month. The ambience along with the low key music from the jazz group made for a very enjoyable
Brunch. There were so many choices and found everything I tried was delicious. Our waitress, Sandra, was very attentive, personable and brought a Happy Birthday tray of goodies that I was able to take home. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
We had a fabulous experience at the Café Fleuri chocolate bar. They offer an excellent selection with a variety of flavors to keep you interested and satisfied. I like to keep it a special occasion, but it's definitely in my twice per year rotation at this point. Don't change a thing; I love it!
Great selection--too many to try--We tried 10 things and that was more than enough.Deserts are more than fabulous--the pastry and chocolate maker is outstanding. It is more than easy to over indulge. The only thing that I would change is the music.. a mixture of jazz or something is too noisy for the setting--Great place
I've been going to the Cafe Fleuri chocolate bar for years now, and honestly I was just a bit disappointed on this visit. It's just not as chocolate-y as it's been in previous years-- there's more focus now on white chocolate and combinations that may incorporate a little chocolate but with more other flavors to offset it. That's not necessarily a bad thing for desserts in general, but for me (an admitted lover of dark chocolate), it makes the menu less a "chocolate bar" and more a "dessert bar."
That being said, it's still a great place to go for a special occasion, because it has the "wow factor" when you first walk in and see the display, and the service is excellent. Maybe not the best value food-wise, but the ambience can't be beat. Kudos to the restaurant for making sure to have their live music (also fun) quieter in volume than in previous years, as it used to be kind of distracting and now is at the perfect level.
Not very many options for vegans, but impressive that there were any at all. The table we were seated in had some pretty ugly chairs, but the service was excellent and the ambiance was great. Despite there being a lot of chocolate faced children, it wasn't loud or crowded. Definitely a special occasion indulgence. You really have to take your time and be choosy about what you eat or you'll fill up very quickly. I think there could be maybe a little more variety in their offerings, say offer some dishes with cocoa or chocolate in them that weren't exactly desserts. But overall it was wonderful and I didn't at all feel misled about what sort of experience I was going to have. There was live classical music throughout the chocolate bar brunch, which contributed to the ambiance.
Took family for Sunday Brunch for Father's Day. Great variety of food from seafood, BBQ, comfort foods, salads, desserts, traditional brunch items, etc. Unfortunately, seafood cakes were dried out, would have been scrumptious otherwise. Prime Rib didn't have much flavor. Servers, and everyone we came into contact with, were genuinely kind and attentive but there were so many people it was hard for them to keep up (i.e. water glass refills, remove used dishes, etc.). Price is high. Used to LV buffets where even greater variety and quality for half the price. Enjoyed the jazz music. Would have preferred to have window view instead of seated in back by service area. Concierge, John Stevens, was exceptionally helpful, professional and considerate in arranging plans.
