Chef/Owner Hector Ruiz welcomes you to Café Ena: A cozy intimate restaurant located in the Tangletown neighborhood in south Minneapolis. Chef Ruiz pares his classic French technique and South American palate to present an exciting menu of Latin-Fusion cuisine. Begin your meal with a south american style ceviche; shrimp, fish, scallops and shrimp in a aji sauce. The many entrées include, scallops, sea bass, pork tenderloin, Argentinean style steaks finished in a savory chimichurri. The wine list focuses on a wide range of varietals from Central and South America. If wine is not your thing, perhaps you would enjoy one of the many local and global beers.

This was my second visit. The first visit was fair at best. My date and I both ordered Mero (Halibut). She was satisfied with hers while I felt mine was over cooked and dry. The second time we both ordered Lubina (Sea Bass) and it was off the chart out of this world outstanding. We both were tempted to lick our plates!

Service in both cases was outstanding.

I thought the food was very good. The table were way too small, but that is really my only complaint.

We were going to celebrate a masters degree but when we arrived we were not greeted. The people ahead of us had already been waiting 10 minutes or more. There were empty tables that were not cleaned off and only one person working the floor. We waited as long as we could and then left. They were obviously not well staffed.

I love this restaurant.
Been going for years, not sure what happened but there was only one server for the entire restaurant from the time we arrived, noon until just before we left 1:30.
Waited more than 10 minutes just to get water and menus, then was very scattered, drinks never delivered and those that were were wrong. A mixup on the food order for a couple of our group. What food was correct was very good as always.
Maybe just a weird mixup in schedules...

Cafe Ena pleased my elderly parents and teen boy. There is something delicious here for everyone. Elegant desserts too.

Food was excellent when it came, but there was some snafu in the kitchen and our order was lost and it took them a while to figure it out. They discounted our meal as compensation for their error.

My wife and I like this restaurant for both lunch and dinner, as they offer different menus that fit our taste. We like the location, not busy area and easy to find parking spots. Tables outside when weather is good.
They serve food from Latin America but not the typical ones. We like to start with the stuffed bell peppers or the very tasty guacamole prepared with chunks of avocado and nachos home made. All the main dishes are great.
Service is professional, friendly and fast, prices are fair.
We recommend this place.

The food was okay, but not quite warm (borderline cold). Service was average. A little disappointed 😞

Excellent service, wonderful meal. Although, it is somewhat loud so difficult to hear my guests. But, everyone in the restaurant were having fun.

Wonderful modest priced dining. A little noisy but manageable. Our waiter was outstanding. Friendly, helpful and attentive. We stayed with appetizers and it was a good choice. Don’t neglect the guacamole. Also enjoyed Cameron Caribe, Camamares and Campoesino salad. With a glass of wine and a tap beer we were well satisfied at $75.

We had mixed feelings on our experience at Cafe Ena. First thing we noticed it was very noisy.
The service was very good. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable! There were 4 of us and we all thought the amount of wine in the glass was skimpy . As far as the food, we had mixed reviews. Two of us had the Sea Bass special. It was delicious! The other two had the pork chop special and both thought it was overcooked and rather bland. The presentation was very nice! We thought the meal was overpriced. I'm not sure that we will come back.

We've eaten at Café Ena 3 other times, but this time we were disappointed in the way the seating was handled.
We had a reservation, and arrived on time, but when we got there the hostess had no tables - she said that she was told to seat walk-ins and wouldn't have a table for 25 minutes. It truned out to be 40 minutes.

I think they should make a decision to be walk-in (FCFS) based OR to honor reservations, but don't lead people on that they actually handle reservations if NO preference is given to them.
When we did got seated we then waited over 10 minutes before being greeted by he waiter, and normally that would not be an issue at all for me, but I was already irritated.

We enjoyed our food - they do have a delightful, unique menu! We all had seafood. And I think the guacamole is the best I've ever had!
