Chef/Owner Hector Ruiz welcomes you to Café Ena: A cozy intimate restaurant located in the Tangletown neighborhood in south Minneapolis. Chef Ruiz pares his classic French technique and South American palate to present an exciting menu of Latin-Fusion cuisine. Begin your meal with a south american style ceviche; shrimp, fish, scallops and shrimp in a aji sauce. The many entrées include, scallops, sea bass, pork tenderloin, Argentinean style steaks finished in a savory chimichurri. The wine list focuses on a wide range of varietals from Central and South America. If wine is not your thing, perhaps you would enjoy one of the many local and global beers.

Have dined here multiple times with friends and for special occasions. Have never been disappointed. Food is always delicious. Will definitely be back.

Our first time at Cafe Ena and it was amazing. The food was fantastic and the service perfectly attentive and very helpful with the menu. The guacamole is the best we've ever had. Beautiful presentation and all fresh ingredients, with no mushy avocados or additives to stretch. I had the salmon and it was prepared to perfection. Moist without being under or over cooked. My husband ordered the wild mushroom quesadillas and said they were excellent and no he would not share....We are planning to return and will bring family and friends. B

The South American food was excellent. We had very good guacamole with big chunks of fresh avocado, as an appetizer. For mains, we (party of three) had steak, salmon, and grouper. All imaginatively prepared. Service was excellent, as well.

We had a 7pm reservation on Valentine's day. Not thrilled to arrive to find 20 or more others waiting for their reserved tables to open up. We were told it would be a 30-minute wait which was inconvenient and uncomfortable in the very overcrowded small waiting area but we were okay with that. After 45 minutes we asked about our table and were told they hadn't checked us in when we arrived so people who had come in after us were seated well before us. Got a table almost an hour after arriving. All of this would have been okay but the food was far below what we have come to expect from Cafe Ena. Dry fish, unappealing and bland risotto. Overall a very disappointing evening. As we left there were as many people waiting as there had been when we arrived. Obviously they booked at least twice the capacity they could manage! We will return one day I'm sure but never on a special occasion.

Came for Valentine's Day celebration. The house was full which prompted a wait for a table even with a reservation but staff was friendly and helpful and we were seated after about 30 minutes. We enjoyed the rack of lamb and sea bass with a good Tempranillo. Service was personable and prompt given the busy room and the meals were great. We have always enjoyed our visits here.

We were prepared to wait since we’d heard that was expected. Even with a 7:15 rez we weren’t seated till 7:50. Left standing coats on, at least we had a glass of wine.
Our seafood entrees were disappointing. Scallops simple and very little to support them. My sea bass was dry and I wasn’t able to finish. Flavors were good, maybe it was an off night.

Food was fantastic. Had to wait 35 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, then 8 more minutes for our server to greet us. Yes, it was Valentines Day, but seriously, get your sh*+ together and run a restaurant properly. To be fair, they were offering free glasses of wine to the people who were waiting past their reservation time. Good food though, but that is about it.

We had Valentine’s dinner reservations at 5:45. We arrived late at 6:10. They were running 30 minutes behind. The waiting space was very crammed but people were being patient and they served everyone free wine while they waited. Our dinner was excellent. Ceviche is to die for.

Very good food as usual. We frequent this restaurant on special occasions. It is well worth our drive from Rochester.
