We had a wonderful dinner, The sea bass was outstanding and service was excellent. We will return!
When we arrived (3 of us), the other 2 on our party were not there. We were told we could not be seated but that we could sit in the waiting area. It was crowded with a Christmas tree. I asked what the reason was for not being able to be seated, I was told that she didn't know.
The halibut was excellent but the sal.on was incredibly salty. Very disappointing.
Always an excellent choice!
THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Efficient service. Wonderful gem!!
Very attentive service. Our food was excellent! Guacamole, yum! We had the Sea Bass and steak, awesome!
Having lunch with our sons. Very nice atmosphere and great food. Have dined here for lunch and dinner before. Never disappointed.
Been to Cafe Ena a few times. Always very good. Food is outstanding.
As always, Chef Hector and Erin Ungerman did an awesome job with the food and wine dinner! Will come back for more of the dinner pairing events.
Absolutely great wine dinner. Prefix courses and wine pairings very very well done.
We were there for brunch on Sunday. The food was fantastic as always (mango french toast! Chilaquiles! Tacos al pastor!) and our young waiter (Cyrus? I’m terrible with names) was knowledgeable, funny, and charming.
Food and service as always was fantastic. Admittedly, we have our favorites, but it's just that they are so consistently great. The guac, calamari and battered shrimp...yum....then there's the salmon and arroz con pollo....nice!!!!
One of our favorite restaurants! We love Chef Ruiz's delicious creations. My husband and I shared the ceviche and guacamole appetizers. He had the scallops, which were cooked to perfection. I had the seafood risotto which was also quite good. Our server was gracious and attentive. We live in the East mtero, and when we come out to Minneapolis to go to Cafe Ena we always know we will have a wonderful meal.
We were excited to try Cafe Ena . The service was great. The guacamole was really good, and the Calamari was mediocre. I ordered the pork tenderloin and the dish was so salty I could only eat 1/4 of it. My husband ordered the pan seared salmon and it came out smaller than the waiter described and it was not at all pan seared. It looked and felt a little like it was nuked in the microwave. Really disappointing, especially with how much money we spent.
This is and has been my favorite date restaurant in the Twin Cities
This restaurant was a great find. The latin inspired menu looked good but the food was even better. It's not hard to get to or to park at in uptown which is a plus.
Nice atmosphere and great food! I would definitely go back to this restaurant!
I love Cafe Ena!
It becomes pricey for the amount of food in the ration.
This was my second time at Cafe Ena and it is WONDERFUL! This is a great date night restaurant. It's small enough to feel intimate and the staff are so friendly and helpful when it comes to choosing a great dish (hint: it's all amazing).
The food was very nicely done. Lots of layers of flavor. My only suggestion would be more veggies! When the menu says mushrooms, I expect more than one. Otherwise, definitely would recommend.
Excellent service and food. Definitely worth a return trip.
It was very hot and busy. Typically use to a 5 star experience but food was lacking in flavor a bit this time, things were slow and it was extremely hot. Felt like an off night at a typically flawless restaurant.
Server Cesar was pleasant and completely in tune to our wishes.
Great food. Interesting and tasty. We had not gone before but will again, for sure.
We had the halibut and the sea bass which were delicious! We will be back to try other menu items.
Great atmosphere, great service, great food! This is just the second time at Cafe Ena - we came back because we wondered if it was as good as we remembered. Better the second time!!!
Great food.. nice place can't wait to go again! Service was good too!
The food is outstanding. My second time there. The servers are young and quite busy so there attentiveness was a little lacking. This was a Tuesday night so I surprised by that. That said the food is awesome, but it would be a 5 star if the service was a little better
Great food, great service, as always. Best guacamole you will have ever eaten.
Wonderful wait staff! Our waiter was very attentive. Made my birthday very special. I had the lamb, I wish there would have been a bit more of that on the plate. There wasn't a lot of meat on the 2 pieces they served, one more would have been perfect. Overall a great night!
Great food and service. If you sit outside, which we did, the planes flying overhead are loud and distracting.
Some of their fish plates are outstanding...the conchas, the mero, the lubina. Order several starter plates: The ceviche is excellent. So is the calamari. Get the empanadas.
Cafe Ena is one of our favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. On this night, there was a giant glitch in our experience. Not sure if someone called in sick or what happened but the service was horrible. Our poor waitress was as kind as she could be but it was impossible for her to keep up. They never should have allowed us to be seated. Every group (the restaurant was packed) was compromised. Should have offered free wine or some type of compensation.
Great service. Sat outdoors and very noisy from traffic
I am a vegetarian which Ena is not the restaurant that you think I would pick. They have one vegetarian dish and it is fabulous. It is prepared with such care.
the dish is attractive, the risotto is flavorful unlike so many other risottos that are bland, the vegetables that are on top are plentiful, and cooked perfectly. What more can I say.
Our guests enjoyed their choice of scallops, and pork.
Would absolutely recommend. Food was delicious and different. Very flavorful! Service was professional and friendly. Portions were generous. Priced right. Dessert? Awesome! Only issue was the amount of planes landing at dinnertime on a Sunday evening We sat outside on their wonderful patio--but it still was okay even with plane noise. More charming! We're definitely returning to try other entrees!
I love Cafe Ena. They have the best guacamole in town and all the food they create is imaginative and exceptional.
I dont think you could go wrong with anything. I love the mofongo and the guacamole is fantastic. I have never had a thing I didn't like in the entrees and appetizers.
we sat on the patio and closed the place down. Our waitress was super helpful with our vegan and dairy restrictions, and the food was excellent. at closing time, our waitress informed us they were locking up and we could stay on the patio all night if we wanted...ha! Great drink list too, all was amazing.
The server was knowledgeable and fun. A delicious rack of lamb and sea bass were the choices of my table mates. I had the poblano pepper appetizer which I loved. All in all a very nice evening.
