This was my second time at Cafe Ena and it is WONDERFUL! This is a great date night restaurant. It's small enough to feel intimate and the staff are so friendly and helpful when it comes to choosing a great dish (hint: it's all amazing).
The food was very nicely done. Lots of layers of flavor. My only suggestion would be more veggies! When the menu says mushrooms, I expect more than one. Otherwise, definitely would recommend.
Excellent service and food. Definitely worth a return trip.
It was very hot and busy. Typically use to a 5 star experience but food was lacking in flavor a bit this time, things were slow and it was extremely hot. Felt like an off night at a typically flawless restaurant.
Server Cesar was pleasant and completely in tune to our wishes.
Great food. Interesting and tasty. We had not gone before but will again, for sure.
We had the halibut and the sea bass which were delicious! We will be back to try other menu items.
Great atmosphere, great service, great food! This is just the second time at Cafe Ena - we came back because we wondered if it was as good as we remembered. Better the second time!!!
Great food.. nice place can't wait to go again! Service was good too!
The food is outstanding. My second time there. The servers are young and quite busy so there attentiveness was a little lacking. This was a Tuesday night so I surprised by that. That said the food is awesome, but it would be a 5 star if the service was a little better
Great food, great service, as always. Best guacamole you will have ever eaten.
Wonderful wait staff! Our waiter was very attentive. Made my birthday very special. I had the lamb, I wish there would have been a bit more of that on the plate. There wasn't a lot of meat on the 2 pieces they served, one more would have been perfect. Overall a great night!
Great food and service. If you sit outside, which we did, the planes flying overhead are loud and distracting.
Some of their fish plates are outstanding...the conchas, the mero, the lubina. Order several starter plates: The ceviche is excellent. So is the calamari. Get the empanadas.
Cafe Ena is one of our favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. On this night, there was a giant glitch in our experience. Not sure if someone called in sick or what happened but the service was horrible. Our poor waitress was as kind as she could be but it was impossible for her to keep up. They never should have allowed us to be seated. Every group (the restaurant was packed) was compromised. Should have offered free wine or some type of compensation.
Great service. Sat outdoors and very noisy from traffic
I am a vegetarian which Ena is not the restaurant that you think I would pick. They have one vegetarian dish and it is fabulous. It is prepared with such care.
the dish is attractive, the risotto is flavorful unlike so many other risottos that are bland, the vegetables that are on top are plentiful, and cooked perfectly. What more can I say.
Our guests enjoyed their choice of scallops, and pork.
Would absolutely recommend. Food was delicious and different. Very flavorful! Service was professional and friendly. Portions were generous. Priced right. Dessert? Awesome! Only issue was the amount of planes landing at dinnertime on a Sunday evening We sat outside on their wonderful patio--but it still was okay even with plane noise. More charming! We're definitely returning to try other entrees!
I love Cafe Ena. They have the best guacamole in town and all the food they create is imaginative and exceptional.
I dont think you could go wrong with anything. I love the mofongo and the guacamole is fantastic. I have never had a thing I didn't like in the entrees and appetizers.
we sat on the patio and closed the place down. Our waitress was super helpful with our vegan and dairy restrictions, and the food was excellent. at closing time, our waitress informed us they were locking up and we could stay on the patio all night if we wanted...ha! Great drink list too, all was amazing.
The server was knowledgeable and fun. A delicious rack of lamb and sea bass were the choices of my table mates. I had the poblano pepper appetizer which I loved. All in all a very nice evening.
The food and service was outstanding. Enjoyed the outdoor patio experience.
After starting to wonder if we had been forgotten once seated, an excellent waiter made us feel well attended to. For example, he noticed an issue with the wine I ordered so brought me an upgrade instead (though had to be asked for more water), and he kept an eye on the status of our orders to facilitate a positive experience.
The guacamole appetizer was very good -fresh, not over complicated. The sea bass was delicious with depth of flavor and well cooked fish. The chicken was a bit lackluster in comparison but the accompanying gnocchi was special. The creme brûlée was just beginning on its way from creme to scrambled eggs but was still tasty.
Always a great time here. Great food!!
The food and service were great. I particularly appreciated our waiter who was very familiar with the various entrées and gave us wonderful, specific and accurate descriptions.
The salmon and yucca mofongo were cooked to perfection. Nothing was overdone or dry.
Tasty dishes nicely presented. I had the stuffed poblano on the appetizer menu. Ample portion for lunch and all the flavors worked very well together.
The sea bass and halibut were terrific as usual. The service however was not as good as usual. We had an inattentive waiter.
Great food, as always!
Fabulous, wonderful and better than I ever expected.
I can't wait to go back.
I have always enjoyed Cafe Ena, but when I last ate there, I thought the food was way too salty
Cafe Ena never disappoints! Their seafood selections are always creative and well balanced with sublimely paired ingredients cooked to perfection. Their guacamole is exceptional - a must for the first course. (I know, it’s just guac....but it really is good enough to write a review about.). Great wine list, and knowledgeable, skilled staff.
It can be noisy on the patio, and can also get a bit loud in the dining room on occasion. I also find it helpful to bring a sweater. It always seems a touch too cool inside.
The food is always outstanding! Great service!
We have dined here before and had a great experience.
Sat outside this evening on a beautiful night!
Had the calamari, ceviche and plantains for appetizers. All were very well prepared.
The sea bass was outstanding and, possibly, the best I have ever had. Exquisitely prepared.
My wife had the Argentine grass fed beef which was also fantastic.
Quite noisy outside due to street traffic. Nice ambiance inside.
Highly recommend this neighborhood gem 💎
We appreciated the attention to detail in each menu item we ordered, whether an entree or an appetizer. Everything was clearly crafted with great care. I especially liked the Camaron Caribe. We'll be back!
This is one of the fam's favorite restaurants. We usually go for lunch, so this was a bit of a change-up. I ordered the scallops and they were awesome, but I do think the entrees are a wee pricey. That being said, the service is top-drawer and the guac appetizer can't be beat. Still, I think I'll go back for lunch and get my favorite, Tacos al Pastor, which is not on the dinner menu. :-)
Great as always. It is our go to restaurant to take out of town guests, celebrate birthdays, etc.
Excellent food. Very nice patio. I would definitely recommend.
Great anniversary dinner!
