Went to CduP for restaurant week, menu advertised as a prix fixe 3 course for $22, “w/ wine pairing $29”. We we awed. As a loss leader, these folks were taking one for the team. Cheers all round. When the bill comes, come to find out those three little half glasses were$29, and the meal another $22 on TOP of that. I and my colleagues were appalled, but the waiter was adamant. So, like $10 a half glass for middling wine...yeah, no. Neither I nor my colleagues nor any of our friends and relations are getting anywhere near this place again. In the trade, IMHO this seems to fit the textbook def of ‘false and deceptive marketing practices’. The very last word in tacky. I feel kind of like I visited a gastronomic low rent used car dealer. Pity, I though the onion soup was ambrosial, but I’ll be hornswoggled if I find out next time that the crouton has its own pricing scheme.
Nice location and food was decent.
Restaurant Week specials were great !!!
Our servers was amazing. He was very welcoming and attentive. The food was good and we’re surprised by how full we were. Highly recommended the creme brulee.
We went for a birthday dinner and they were happy to sing for us. The meal was lovely, however I would not reccomend the wine pairings. They didn't not go well with the selected meals.
My server Edwin was very pleasant and took great care of me. The restaurant week menu was delicious and I will recommend this to friends!
The food at this restaurant is amazing. The lunch that we had was excellent and they surprised my wife with a wonderful gluten free crème brûlée.
Nice breakfast spot. A little pricey for a buffet imo. $36/ person. I can't eat that much food, so I ordered off the menu which was fine. The croque madame was delicious, as was the eggs benedict. Berries were fresh. I'd definitely go back!
Always a favorite. The food was good as was my chai latte.
Service was excellent. Food was mediocre. My fish dish was poorly prepared. My mint julep was disappointing. I expected upscale food preparation for the price but it was only fair. Ambience was not inviting. Very few diners on a Saturday night. Diners were dressed just casually. It was supposed to be a special anniversary celebration but it was not. Pear dessert was not tasty. Overall would not recommend.
The food was excellent. The Chef certainly has talent and carefully crafts the dishes. The service seemed to not match the quality of the food. I would also recommend table cloths, the crumbs on the table from the bread were very obvious and we kept having to wipe them off. Would highly recommend for food, not necessarily experience.
Outstanding service and food on the patio. It’s my new favourite!
Another very pleasant visit with a friend over lunch, outdoors. With that section's multiple umbrellas, a great option for outdoor lunches, as in avoiding the sun. Service continues to be slower when outdoors, however. Inside or out, I go for its healthy and light food options and the quiet.
I would only recommend this restaurant to elite friends.
Everything was average. Nothing special or great. Restaurant is in a nice location.
Perfect dinner in a great location. Recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. The staff always aim to make dinner at Cafe Du Parc extra special. Lovely area to take a stroll after dinner, too.
Breakfast was good! Had the French toast and it was fabulous!
We were looking for a place to go after the 4th of July program at the Lincoln Memorial. I made a reservation here. It took us a bit to get seated and service was a bit slow, but the place was busy and we weren't in a hurry. The food was great and the ambience--on the sidewalk near the White House--was top notch.
The inside was a bit humid but overall the environment, staff, and food were all wonderful.
Cafe Du Parc was a real surprise. Our party of seven included 3 children ages 1, 3 and 5. The waitress was attentive to the children and the kids menu items were well prepared and excellent. The mussels are highly recommended as are any of the steak choices. We will return.
The food was great and the ambiance was even better. Blue umbrellas and wrought iron tables and chairs make the experience feel like you are in Europe. Will definitely eat here again.
So disappointed. Decor reminds me of a cafeteria, lighting far too harsh, no music/white nouce, just banging dishes and silverware, open kitchen with very loud noisy staff. Would never go back. Outside in the "park" area had lunch there the day prior, and it was absolutely lovely . Stick to that. Inside for 3 people, 1 cocktail each, 2 soups and entrees without any sides , no desserts or coffee, bill was $260.
We were fortunate to have weather to dine outside, and as usual, that meant a quiet, yummy lunch of salads with very good service.
Patio dining was lovely
Bad overall experience. The food was just ok, but the service was simply below par.
We had a difficult time communicating with our server as his English was very limited. When we asked him for the check he said “right away” and it took 20 minutes and asking two other people to finally bring us the check.
Don’t waste your time here, there are a lot better options around this area.
Lovely menu, enjoyed my meal very much! Most people sat outside, however, tables were not clothed and buses idled curbside, so we opted to go inside. We ate a bit early but not overly. There was only one other couple in the dining room with us. Very odd environment for a meal out on a Friday evening; no buzz or vibe to speak of. The food was delicious and the service was very good; of course, since there wasn't a full house indoors. Bummed...was looking for a different experience as we were celebrating an anniversary. All food was definitely worth the solitude, however!
best burger ever
The entire meal was tremendously disappointing. We were at the first evening of our weekend celebrating our 50th anniversary and took 10 of our family to this restaurant for dinner. The food was OK (not much better and certainly not for the price) but the service was beyond abysmal. And the manager watched the entire debacle and did not intervene until enough people complained that they took a couple of dishes off the bill. The server was a trainee (he said so himself) but no one was supervising him. first, he got the orders messed up. Then food came in a very staggered way. But then two main dishes didn't arrive at all, until we mentioned it for the fourth or so time. About 15 minutes after everyone else got their food, those two dishes arrived. And we discovered that one of the people who had already finished eating hand't gotten the full dish. The sauce and bread included in the other similar dishes wasn't included. The restaurant was not very crowded so the terrible service could not be attributed to an overworked kitchen or anything else. It really was a terrible disappointment, particularly for the start of an important anniversary weekend. If this is how they worry about service, they should be ashamed.
Just as others have said the service is quite mediocre. it's a good thing that we were not in a rush. If we were in a rush and wanted desert and wanted our check quickly we would have missed our next event. As nice as they were there was no sense of urgency inattending to your table for any other needs or to see how your meal was going. It seemed like there were two waiters for about 20 tables.
Great lunch! Went for Mother's Day with a large group and had a wonderful time. The French Onion Soup is a MUST! And a great kids menu.
The staff was so friendly. A must stop in DC!
Perfect ambiance for a business meeting. Service was wonderful.
Our group of 8 dined while waiting for the big bus night tour. The staff managed to keep us on schedule while providing excellent food, service and ambiance. I wish I could remember our servers name because she was outstanding. Our group said this experience was one of the highlights of our trip to DC.
Too touristy for my taste. Upscale McDonald's atmosphere with out of this world pricing. You can get a much finer meal, with great service in a beautiful atmosphere at many other places.
Very friendly staff, still haven’t received bill from hotel?
Celebrated a birthday brunch here, service was excellent as was the menu selections. Food and drinks were good, and the wait staff was outstanding. Had previously noted it was a birthday and they brought out a nicely decorated complimentary dessert for us to share. Was a beautiful day in downtown DC and Cherry Blossom time so it was busy on the street and sidewalks, but not so bad or distracting. Valet parking was very good and the Parc validated the parking so just a tip to the Valet was needed. Overall a very pleasant experience and would recommend.
I felt the food was just OK...was there for breakfast only. I tried the buffet the first day...very expensive ($32) and my eggs and potatoes were on the cold side. I can't eat enough to justify the price. So, the next day I decided to forgo the buffet and just order off the menu. The omelet was bland and again the potatoes were cold and dry. For $16 I didn't even get a piece of toast with the omelet.
Disappointing. Service was s-l-o-w. They we're Severely understaffed for a Sat night on Cherry Blossom weekend. One server for 8 tables. Food was ok but salty. They were clearly rushed. The open kitchen had 2 cooks, to serve a 2-floor establishment, including a large outdoor dining area. I won't come back because it was not an inexpensive place, even by DC standards.
Our waiter was very helpful friendly and knowledgeable- outstanding
Seemed a different spoon was necessary for the marrow dish
Ambiance was a little cold with no tablecloths and The lighting should have been a bit more intimate
