Cafe Du Parc Ratings and Reviews
Lovely place to eat outside. While it is near many touristy places, it has a sense of calm. You have a choice of eating inside or outside under the umbrellas. Great for people watching of those who are heading into the Willard.
Their mussels are great! Huge serving and come with fries.
Elegant yet reasonable cost. Very good service.
While visiting the District, enjoyed a delicious cinnamon French toast with blackberries and raspberries at a Sunday breakfast with a longtime friend and mentor here, who enjoyed his stack of big, plump pancakes. Ambience is pleasant, just like the al fresco cafes in Paris. Would recommend this place.
The service was excellent. The food was not. Terribly over salted veal. Normally a cutlet is served very thin too, these were served in chunks. The risotto was also mush.
Wife's mussels were terribly inconsistent. Some cooked well, others were clearly not cooked at all.
The dessert, an espresso Creme Brûlée, though was amazing.
The atmosphere was charming and in a great location. The food was reasonably good and the portions very generous. However, the service was very slow. I had a seafood dish and asked for a seafood fork. The server did not know if she could find one, but said she would try. She did find one, however, this should have come with the dish when served. My friend ordered an omelette and it was so delayed that they did not charge for it. That was a nice gesture, but should not have been necessary. The menu was also quite limited and somewhat pricy.
Food is above average, and service as well, and so have been many times to this outdoor restaurant.
Unfortunately, the restaurant has also become popular with the avian community, and despite the many umbrellas deployed to deal with the problem, it was far from solved, and made the dining experience uncomfortable, and probably unhealthy. I noticed many other guests trying to cope with this issue as well!
I've not had this experience on previous occasions, and hope they can come up with a solution.
I had no idea how good the restaurant was going to be. I looked up french cafe's in the area and went simply on that. I was blown away - I had an amazing salad. The food was so fresh and the menu was unique. There were combinations I didn't expect but wanted to try. Beautiful setting and right in the heart of the city.
