Contemporary French
Located in the heart of Washington, D.C., steps from the National Mall, and across from Pershing Park, a national park home to the new World War 1 Memorial, Café du Parc is reminiscent of a Parisian-inspired sidewalk café.

Nestled between The White House and the U.S. Capitol, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the nation’s capital, Café du Parc’s seasonal outside terrace remains an incredibly popular locale for al fresco dining by both visitors and locals alike.

Paying homage to traditional French cooking, the restaurant offers diners a variety of culinary offerings from coffee and pastries at its coffee shop, Le Café, to breakfast, lunch, and dinner on its outside terrace or inside the main dining room.

I took the following (~$50 including gratitude):
— Onion soup — good
— Turkey salad — below average. Fries were with some bad taste, and overcooked. Bread and salad were fine
— Coffee — good

View from the restaurant, if you sit in the right place, is great

Overall, considering value for money — I wouldn’t go again

Simple breakfast spot, with great breakfast options. Service was a little slow, but besides that, it was great.

The outdoor seating has a beautiful view and the food was very good, but the service staff overall was very sub-par. If it were not for Elizabeth, this review would have been much worse, but she saved the overall service from being poor or lower, because she was exceptional and corrected the numerous mistakes of the other staff. One staff member told us that the sangria was no longer available, though Elizabeth was able to get us an order; also another staff member brought an entire order from another party to our table and left it with us even when I told him it was not ours, so again Elizabeth was required to retrieve and deliver it to the correct party; and finally, the other staff member put the wrong plates in front of us at our table and we had to sort it for ourselves. The initial staff also completely failed to provide us flatware even after our bread plate had arrived. Given the prices on the menu and the many alternatives in the area, this level of service is unacceptable. Again, I cannot say enough for the exceptional efforts of Elizabeth to save the overall reputation of your establishment. Very well done to her, and thank you Elizabeth!
PS - I am giving the "yes" to recommend to a friend due to the lovely scenery around the outdoor seating and the hopes that the staff performance was a fluke and will be corrected.

The food was great, but I asked for water and never got it. When my food came it burnt my mouth and I was waving at my waiter to again ask for water. He looked directly at me and we made eye contact, and then turned away and acted like he didn’t see me. Very poor service on his part. The other waiters were very nice. But my mouth is still burnt thanks to my waiter’s poor service.

Such a pleasant experience to sit outside on a lovely evening after our year long lockdown. The first course and dessert were very good indeed, the main courses not so much. The rock fish was over cooked to the point of dryness and there was too much "vegetable" mixture (I don't know what else to call it) taking up a third of the plate. It was also inedible. The filet was not of the best quality. The prices are high so we were expecting better. However, we are willing to give it another try since the wait staff are polite and efficient another are other interesting items on the menu.

Absolutely excellent service, as always, but the food is the main draw. Superb preparation, and the chef lets the food speak for itself without drowning everything in sauces. It is easily our favorite restaurant in DC.

We enjoyed a 3-course afternoon lunch on the terrace. The appetizers and desserts were top notch, the main courses (rockfish and Beef Bourguignon) were OK. The waiter was slow and a little unresponsive, but otherwise friendly. The street was quiet and it was it was a memorable spring afternoon.

Order of food took a long time. Had to ask for beverages multiple times. Order was for eggs benedict with salmon and received it with spinach instead.

The staff is either under staffed or does not pay attention to details. It's a great location and has a lot of potential. Certainly not the Williard Hotel of old...

Had a reservation for 11. Seated at 11:40. No one came to our table until 15 minutes later when we had to flag someone down. Had pitchers of sangria on the menu but when we ordered it was told that they didn’t have them. Somehow they still had individual orders of sangria available. Bloody mary was bland, food was meh.

They are not following COVID protocols at all. Every table was packed. After ordering, and waiting for 25 minutes, we still had not gotten our food. Then, they sat a table of five right next to us and we got up and walked out.

Sadly, the service was terrible, at least from our waiter. Our hotel was comping our meal, therefore I believe that was why we received poor service. Even though we were going to generously tip. After we received our beverages and ordered, an entire HOUR passed before we were asked how we were doing, by another waiter. We politely asked where our food was and 10 minutes after we asked, we finally got it. We were never rude, so I do not understand why we were treated that way. Very uncomfortable breakfast, but loved the food. When we finally got up to leave after waiting over an hour for someone to give us help, our “missing” waiter finally chased us down to give us a bill. We still topped, but it was an awful experience due to the lack of service.

We've enjoyed breakfast and brunch here. The omelets are deliciously stacked. The traditional eggs benedict or the salmon benedict is always freshly made. All are served with greaseless potatoes, asparagus and the tastiest parmesan crusted tomato. Espresso and fresh squeezed juices round out our meal that is served by a very kind and attentive staff who demonstrate covid protocols in limited contact payments. Formally located in the Willard Hotel and now part of the Intercontinental brand, Cafe Du Parc is a must stop for travelers to the nation's capital and just another wonderful dinning experience for DMV residents.

Picture it... A beautiful sunlit day, surrounded by great company, eating delicious food - with HORRIBLE service; that's Café du Parc.

We all started out ordering drinks and appetizers, only to have to literally beg for water. I had the caesar salad and the Moscow mule. The salad was quite tasty, and even though I hate when the restaurant brings a salad with uncapped anchovies - I enjoyed it, work and all. The others in my party enjoyed the French onion soup - which was quite rich; and the crab cake, that was surprisingly full of crab and not too much filler.

The entree’s were quite tasty as well. I got the burger and fries. This is definitely one of the best burgers I’ve had in DC. I added the peppered bacon to really make it pop. There was another burger and a turkey club at the table. The club was probably the most impressive dish there - the bread was perfectly toasted and the smoked turkey was moist and tasty.

The food being well prepared is where all things positive about my visit to Café du Parc - END. The staff is inattentive, and borderline incompetent. Having to ask for water, straws, or our waiter multiple times is really beneath what a restaurant at the Willard Hotel should be offering.

I also count not help but notice the way that the waitstaff literally ran around and coordinated to keep the tables for the white patrons clean and clear of empty cups and plates, and how my friends and I ate an entire meal without anyone ever even asking if we were done or needed anything else.

In short the food here was great, but as a Black man - I can’t in good conscience go back here.

Our waiter was ok...he could have been better and much more attentive...the table next to us had a champagne bottle so I'm assuming this might be one reason why he wasn't as attentive with us. It was obvious that he paid way more attention to that table.
