   This restaurant is extremely cool with awesome food and an extremely affordable wine list. The daily specials are always very good but so is the regular menu. one of the specials yesterday for the first time was gravlax and it was amazing. My husband is an enormous fan of the liver and grits. A truly great place.

    Excellent meal from appetizer to dessert! The fish with spaghetti squash was delicious , the filet cooked perfectly with delicious vegetables, the cheese board was lovely, and the desserts were scrumptious . I think it may have been the best Crème Brûlée I’ve ever had! Our server Maggie was awesome , friendly & attentive, it was busy.

    Food was delicious and our server was very nice. However, there was a glitch that significantly detracted from the experience. My friend ordered her tuna rare. It was not rare. The server took it back to have the kitchen cook another piece of tuna. Then she came back out with the original tuna and said, “This is rare” and cut it open to show the inside was pink. Apparently the chef has no idea what customer service is and we were appalled that a restaurant would say they were cooking a new serving and then plop the first one down again. Rude and disgusting.

    Cafe Degas is one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans. The food and cocktails are delicious and atmosphere is cozy. It has a wonderful local feel tucked into a beautiful tree-filled neighborhood.

    We enjoyed the resturant plus met new friends!! The waitress was very calual and we had to keep caslling her back for its (tatoo lady) do not care attitude. My wife did not enjoy the beet salad and he wanted to let the waitriss know but never showed up - had to get other to assist. Bread was hard a rock and ask for replacement - it was good but waitress said she saw it look hard - ??? I am confused on this - why did we get it in the first place?? Lamb great and wine good plus escardos !! Parking tough Gotta please wife and need good waitress (really hard bread and she knows???)

    Simply one of the most charming bistros you will ever find. The neighborhood is beautifully restored. The restaurant fits perfectly on the quaint corner. The ser ice was superb with the waiter making very good suggestions. The dishes were cooked exactly as ordered (I had duck, my guest had the rack of lamb). All in all a fantastic meal and experience.

    Always a wonderful meal and experience even in the midst of jazz fest crowds. The mussels are some of the best in the city and the fries are always perfectly crispy. The crab ravioli is out of this world delicious. The fish special was just slightly drier than I like otherwise it was a perfect meal.

    Food was sub par and probably secondary to 9:30 dinner after JazzFest. Every other meal I’ve had here in past 20 years very good so hopefully this was a one off. Ambience and service great and very quiet siting outside:-)

    My husband and I have a tradition of dining at Cafe’ Degas on the first Friday of Jazz Fest. The food is always delicious, the service spectacular, and the ambiance never disappoints. I did discover I prefer to be inside - something about that pecan tree in the middle! But the outside seating was also lovely. It’s a magical little spot. We’ll be back next year!

    Food was adequate, but the service was pretty poor. We get that people have to start at new jobs at some point, but there didn't seem to be any training. With a lot of seafood options on the menu, our waiter declared "I don't eat fish", so ordering recommendations wouldn't be forthcoming. Another waiter dropped plates on two separate occasions, and when putting a plate at the table, just put it down quickly without a word and walked away. We did not receive one item we ordered, and had to have it removed from the bill, and then were billed for a dessert we didn't order. We so wanted to like Degas, but it really has a staffing issue.

    This is an authentic French restaurant ( I am French so I can tell). Food was excellent. We had the escargots, the mussels, the quail and everything was outstanding! My cocktail ( even if not French : Pimm's cup) was excellent! One of the best I ever had and I loved 6 years in London ! Desserts were as the rest ! Just perfect ! What a treat when you miss good food so much ! Thank you Café Degas !

    As always, the food and ambience were perfect. Four of us had brunch there on Sunday. We started with the crawfish ravioli, which none of us had ever had there, and it was absolutely delicious. Then we all had the soup of the day, a melon vichyssoise with goat cheese, and it was fantastic. We each got different entrees and all were very much enjoyed. Then we finished with the floating island dessert, which is heavenly. Our server recommended a particular bottle of rose, which we all loved and went on to have a second bottle (it was a birthday lunch over a few hours). I look forward to returning some time soon.

    We love the vibe at Cafe Degas, and brunch was delicious! The flavor of the grillades and grits was so rich and deep. Cozy restaurant without feeling too cramped!
