My friend and I ate lunch at an outdoor table of Café de France. We both had absolutely wonderful Cosmopolitans. Refreshingly delicious. I ordered the onion soup as a starter and it was quite good...the cheese was bubbly with a very slight crust and the soup had a good consistency. My friend ordered the scallops with risotto and she said they were delicious, tender and moist. (I would have preferred a darker or more robust sear.) I ordered the mussels and frites and thoroughly enjoyed the dish. We split a tarte tatin that was yummy. Really enjoyed the food and I'd definitely return and recommend the restaurant. Bon appetit!

Excellent French cuisine. Lunch and Dinner were remarkably tasty with perfect portions.
The service was great. I highly recommend this dining venue for flavorful, authentic French food.

Mixed bag. 2 guests had the same seafood dish and one was very good and one was gritty. The other 2 gusests had lamb and again, the lamb special was very good while the lamb from the menu had little seasoning/taste which required a good dose of salt and pepper. Service was excellent. The restaurant was very quiet but it may have been due to the fact there were only 2 other tables occupied by 2 people. This was our first time back in many years and we probably will give it another try.

Loved it. We wanted to get together with our daughter in Orlando and she suggested CdF. I had been wanting to try it for a while, so we made reservations. Between the three of us we had the duck pate (great), mushroom soup (really great mushroom soup!), french onion soup (also great), filet mignon ("most tender steak I've ever had"), rack of lamb (great), and coq au vin (also great). For dessert we had creme brulee ("best ever"), vanilla pastry (good, not great), and house made vanilla ice cream (so creamy!). Will definitely go back. Looking very much to going back.

I love the food and service at this restaurant. I've visited before and will visit again; however, one warning: I asked for a bottle of pinot noir and told the server I'ld trust her. When the bill came, I discovered I was given an over $80 bottle of wine ($35 at the grocery store). That was a lesson learned.

Cafe de France is the best french restaurant in the Winter Park area. A very well managed family owned and operated restaurant. Nice food, good service and nice and quiet ambiance. If you are looking for good food, good service in a quiet and nice ambiance, Cafe de France.
Is the place. You know a restaurant is good when you see a lot of local people that are known by the owners and definitely are repeat customers.

We have enjoyed every meal at this Winter Park gem. Don't be fooled by the relatively plain ambiance. The attention to service, quality wine list and excellent food make this always an exceptional dining experience.

Great location on Park Avenue but slightly boring. Very traditional menu and cooking. It's greatest asset is the fact that a smaller party of friends can have a conversation in a reasonably quiet environment.

This was our second visit to Cafe de France. We enjoyed our second visit as much as the first. We started out with the French Onion soup, which was quite good. Great flavor and tangy cheese. I had the beef bourguignon and my husband had the tenderloin bordelaise. Both were very good. The tenderloin was a nice size cut of meat with a wonderful sauce. The bourguignon was very rich tasting and complimented by the potato mash. We sat by the window and enjoyed the Christmas lights on Park Ave. We will be back again!

This was one of the best meals of my vacation! I'm surprised that it was not crowded as the food was superb and the service was competent and well-paced. The wine selection was very good. The dessert was one of my favorites, profiteroles, and the perfect ending for the perfect meal. I will return on my next visit to the Orlando area.

This was a great place for "Date Night" with my other half. Food was amazing and they had a great list of wines. It was a bit pricey but it was well worth it. A place like this i would not expect the food to be all that cheap anyways. Great for an anniversary, date night, or a first date to impress. The wait staff was on top of it and had a lot of knowledge of their wines and entrees.

It's always good to dine at CDF. Understand you will be presented with a limited, authentic, French menu, but the food is delicious. Always try the daily tourine or fish special.

Cafe de France had many characteristics of European restaurants but unfortunately this helped keep the review to only three stars. The decor is nice, but the service, while pleasant, was painfully slow even by European standards. Thank goodness my wife and I did not have after dinner plans. I started with the lobster bisque which was excellent but my wife's beet salad was very ordinary. My wife had the shrimp entree that was good but not even very good. I had the steak fillet that was very much like I had in Europe- with little taste but with a tasty sauce that saved the day. I had the matchstick fries and they were the only outstanding part of the meal!. The green beans were at best fair. We passed on desert as given the pace of service this would have been another hour. This was our first visit to Cafe de France and we did not experience anything that would cause us to return anytime soon.

Excellent French, intimate restaurant that tends to details and provides excellent French quality food. A noisy large party at the next table was a serious distraction from a lovely dining experience. Server communicated concern but the group was quite noisy and rude with such inconsiderate behavior in a small French restaurant. No wonder children have no manners if parents do not conduct themselves with respectful demeanor.
