Cafe D'Antonio - Celebration Ratings and Reviews
Our visit to Cafe D'Antonio was the final evening of a business trip/couples weekend for my husband and me. We visited this restaurant with our daughter in 2016, and remembered how much we enjoyed it. While it would have been easy to eat at one of the airport restaurants, as we were staying at the Hyatt on that property, we chose to make the trip down to Celebration, to try this place again.
We were NOT disappointed. We ate on the patio, which was, unfortunately, partially closed due to the cold snap. That made it a little bit loud, but we did not mind...We were still outside. I ordered the braised short rib with cheddar polenta, and it was amazing. My husband had the salmon, which he also greatly enjoyed. (He tries to have seafood whenever we go out, and this time he also sampled the short ribs...He actually liked those even better than the salmon.)
We wish we had dessert, but the portions were large and we started with the fabulous warm bread and dipping oil, and we both had a Caesar salad and wine.
All in all....We highly recommend Cafe D'Antonio....Where ever you may be in the Orlando area, it is worth the trip!
Dined on Saturday evening to celebrate Marathon Weekend. Amazing meal, some of the best italian we’ve had. The problem was service. As is often customary, the server didnt write down the table order. However, he ended up bringing water instead of club soda, forgot a caesar salad, realized he forgot one entree and had to return to check, and then forgot to ring in our daughter’s pizza. We waited 10 minutes before summoning management, who returned with a pizza almost immediately. Disappointing, but alleviated by incredible food and an accountable management.
Service was slow, which can happen on busy times, but our waitress handled it wrong. For example we asked what the specials were and she shrugged and said “I dunno I walked in and they told me to come over to you.” We had a reservation and walked in before the crowd so that was odd. We seemed to be sat outside of her section because she was never near us and we would have to stand up to find her or ask another waitress to have her check on us. Later when the food came out the kitchen seemed to have mishandled the timing of all 6 of our dishes because two people had cold food, two people had hot food, and two people had lukewarm food. Now granted this is NOT the servers fault, she simply grabs the food when it is staged and she is buzzed, however when the two individuals with cold food asked for it to be rewarmed she got defensive and even asked one of us “well yeah the plates not hot but did you even try the food before you said that?” Which yes obviously she did. After both plates being warmed by kitchen, which again not the waitresses fault, the came back still cold in the center. My pasta was lukewarm but I didn’t want to upset the waitress further so I just dealt with it. She was pleasant enough outside of being defensive about this issue even though we didn’t blame her for it, most of us have been servers ourselves and know the drill. It was disappointing to be questioned about having even tried it before asking it to be rewarmed.
We enjoyed the food but we did not really feel welcome in this place and would also express some reservations about the cleanliness of the dining space. It was very cold outside but we were proposed a table in the covered area. Then when we asked to change, we were given a table in front of a door. It was really freezing, there was food on the floor and we did not feel that we were valued as customer there.
I went for dinner during the Christmas in Celebration event. I sat outside with a party of 7 for a birthday dinner and it was fun and festive. The food was pretty good (not the best I ever had, but good); we ordered a pizza for an appetizer that was really good. The service was super. Overall, I'd recommend.
This is a place that is never disappointing. It provides all the standard Italian favorites, the food is delicious, and the portions are reasonably large. The porch over looking the lake provides outdoor dining. There are several interior rooms and a bar. The restaurant is always bustling with locals and visiting families. Our favorite place in Celebration.
Attentive staff. Kept glasses full and cleared each course swiftly and quietly. Never had to say a word to staff as all needs were anticipated and attended to. Food was excellent. From pastas to steaks no complaints and we are 'in the business' and are kinda picky. A bit of a drive from Polk county but when in Orlando, you need to try it. You will not be disappointed.
I love this restaurant. I've been going for over 10 years each time I am in the area. Food is authentic Italian with delicate and also strong dishes. Most personnel speaks Italian and plac eis always classy. May be a bit full at times but if you book outside usual dining times it's a real gem. Mussels, calamari, pasta and most all entrees are delicious.
My fault - had 5PM reservation, had to go early, that is children time! Sat outside and very very noisy. Children at most tables and a child's birthday party at the one end of the porch. They are certainly entitled to fun and they had fun. Should have moved inside, but didn't. As far as food goes, it is the best and from my experience always consistent. It is a beautiful time to be in Celebration with the fake snow on main street and horse drawn sleighs moving around town. Try not to miss it at Christmas time, wonderful experience for children and D'Antonio's has perfect view!
I chose chicken piccata one of my favorite dishes. Very disappointing. Chicken dry, tasteless sauce runny not at all any taste of lemon. Skimpy chicken breast only one piece for $18.00 . Vegetables undercooked or at least frozen not fresh at all. Side of pasta dry had to ask for more sauce red. Sangria tasted like cheap red wine lacked any flavor. I was embarrassed I brought my brother n his family there their first time. They did enjoy their chicken n veal cutlets. Seems the kitchen does a good job of deep fryer later cooking. But, fails when asked to prepare a sautéed dish. I was very disappointed as was anxious to be asked for my opinion.
Service was very sluggish on a night where the dining room was empty and the wait staff was standing around. If we did not have to wait until our dinner was served to get our bottle of wine as well as the empty water glasses the rating would have been higher as the food is good and reasonably priced in a great setting. Having to complain to get the business to remember your drinks is simply unacceptable.
My family & I dined at Café D'Antonio for my husband's birthday on Sunday, December 10, 2017. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The food was not hot or even warm, service was awful and we waited well over an hour before being served our dinner. Since we waited so long we didn't dare return our meals for fear of waiting another hour. Our waitress never even offered us dessert when she dropped off the check! We heard from friends how good it was here and wanted to try it but will not return nor recommend. For the over-priced meal we paid for I truly expected more.
Asked for romantict table for my husband”s birthday was givens table on the porch in the
Middle of the doorway. The table was shaking the service was terrible and the hostess was not at all friendly. Mashed potatoes were ice cold had to be sent back to be reheated after waiting over s hour and s half. Not s romantic birthday
When i come to Orlando for vacation with the family, we always stop here one nite for dinner. The food is great at a reasonable price and the chef is great in making something that’s not on the menu or if you want to modify it. Waitress was great in taking care of my wife’s allergy needs. Great hidden place.
We are from Indiana but travel to Florida 2 or 3 times a year....and always a week in early December for Christmas. We have dear friends that we visit with and it is tradition, on our last night in FL we have dinner with them at d’Antonio’s. It is a wonderful place. My favorite entrees are the chicken Marsala and the sausage risotto. I try to alternate. But everything is delicious. We have never been disappointed. We seldom get an appetizer because their bread and dipping oil are to-die-for!! One of my all time favorite places anywhere.
Dined on a Saturday evening. Veal Marsala was superb, both the meat and the sauce. Started with a buffalo mozzarella capreses that could easily have been shared and it was an excellent pairing. The wine list is a little pricey but we found a nice Rosso di Montalcino that went well with our entrees.. We will definitely return often to explore more of the extensive menu.
