Cafe Centro - West Palm Beach Ratings and Reviews
If your not into dancing, moving party atmosphere this place isnt for you. If your energetic, life of the party, This place is for you. We have a blast everytime we go. Make sure Chang is the entertainment because he makes it fun. Thursday,Fri, Sat We always go on Saturday night. Love this place !!!
Place empty except for one table w/ 1 patron when we arrived. We were given table right next to her. That patron was chatting continuously on her cellphone until she finally left about 1hr later. Waiters forgot to bring several things. Waiter offer coffee refill and then forgot to bring. We waited a long time just to put in our orders while other people were getting attention right away for their orders as the night progressed. Some waiters/busboys? did not understand nor speak English, put bottled water on table instead of serving it, reaching in front of you to get something off table or place something on. Food was delicious, but not amazing. Wait staff didn't seem to care. The regular coffee was delicious when I received it. Interior was cutely decorated and piano bar area seemed like fun.
The owner is an absolute jerk. We made reservations 2 weeks prior, confirmed it the day before and when we arrived they over booked and did nothing to fix the problem. They gave our table away (we arrived 5 mintues early) and instead of the owner being a man and admitting he screwed up or to even try to fix the problem, he ran and hid like a child. We sat at an open table that was reserved for a later reservation. The owner sent over the CUSTOMER to say we we're sitting at her table. Never seen anything like it. We traveled far to be there and had to leave since no one could find a solution to there problem. The owner was so rude and unprofessional. I was waitibg for the hidden cameras to come out but they didn't. The owner is just that unbelievable. So don't bother making a reservation. You won't get a table anyway.
Reserved a table for 12 in back room a month in advance - every one in our group agreed it was such an awesome night of singing and dancing (in the tight spaces between tables).
I don't know the entertainers name, but he was FABULOUS....the place was packed and I don't think there was one table that didn't get up and dance or sing along. Probably best to go with a group of friends or family...be prepared to party. It gets loud and crazy in a fun way. The food was so-so at best, but the entertainment made it all worthwhile, which it why I gave it 5 stars.
First time diners and will return again and again. The entertainer was terrific and loved his audience interaction as did the rest of the patrons. Not for someone who's looking for a quiet, romantic dinner. But if you want a fun evening with great food, go go go.
In the three years we have been living in West Palm Beach, Cafe Centro has been our "go to" place to take friends from around the world. We like supporting the restaurants of the Northwood area. We had always enjoyed the experience.
Something has changed. This was our first chance of the "season" and we took friends from Europe. It was a disappointment. In the past, bread was brought to the table early. This time none was served. I had the bruschetta for my starter and what was served was five very small pieces of round toast on the edge of a plate full of chopped tomatoes with some herbs. It was more a tomato salad. We asked for water as well as a bottle of wine. No one ever checked to see if we needed more water. No cheese was offered with our main course or ground pepper. These are small things but we had to keep trying to get a server to accommodate us which never used to be the case in past years.
I hope that this was just an off night or I fear the patrons of the area will move on.
Each Sunday, the piano bar room features the mastery of Michael Masci. A virtuoso on the keys, he is as comfortable with the Great American Songbook classics, as he is with good ol rock n roll from the 50s and 60s, all the way to present day hits. This night, he was joined by a beautiful song stylist named Raquel Williams. The duo held the room tightly in their musical embrace....her snappy club banter and his skill at the piano drew us all in. After 9 pm, a few tables were withdrawn, and we danced with all our " new friends" at the Cafe.
The food was well prepared and the menu broad enough to suit any taste.
Best night out in a very long time!!!
you must work closer with the restauramt owner. i received from opentable an email confirming my presence but even that restaurant call me to confirm my reservation. They can't reach me on my cell and they cancel my reservation. On our arrival it was not so great the type of discussion we had with the hostess. When open table confirm reservation and i am not changing my reservation, the restautant should not wait to speak with me to reserve again !!!
Music started out to be very pleasant. The pianist/vocalist kept raising the volume so much that we had to move to another room. The waiter told us the pianist would not lower the volume! It should be backup music, not interfering in dinner conversation.
Our waiter was very accommodating ... was told by friends food was not great, but music was. Hmmmmm. Not thrilled with either, unfortunately, was looking forward to finding a music venue closer than The Colony...
We were a party of four dining on a Saturday night. The salmon carpaccio was mush salmon on top of lettuce. The tomato and mozzarella was horrible as there was no oil or vinegar or spices on it. The three veal dishes were horrible. The veal was tough and the sauces had no taste. The mixed vegetables were a frozen bag of vegetables served with boxed mashed potatoes. The pasta dish was just as terrible with no taste. None of us ate the dinner however, we paid for it. The biggest waste of money! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!!!!
