Cafe Centro - West Palm Beach Ratings and Reviews
When making the reservation I asked to be near the piano. Upon arriving we were shown a table next to a couple with a dog. we asked to move somewhere else and they gave us another table (neither were near the piano). I asked about the piano and was told there was not music that night. when we left and walked up the side I noticed the piano area had alot of people. Although the food and service were good, I felt deceived. I wanted the piano bar experience and ended up with an ok Italian restaurant.
I have been to this restaurant many times and have always had a positive reaction until this meal. The piano player was detrimental to the enjoyment of the meal. He played very loudly and the music selection was bizarre. From classical pieces to sing along ditties. Unobtrusive music would add to the dining experience. This detracted. If I were to go again I would sit in the front part of the restaurant far from the music.
Met friends for early Christmas dinner and had a GREAT experience, all the way around! Our waiter, the food and ambiance were beyond expectation! We all had a great experience. Two of us had been there with Chef Michelle Bernstein's Restaurant Tour after Check Please, South Florida. We will be returning again!
Came here with my wife for the first time. Had a Mediterranean salad which was good. But the main course (Veal masala) had no flavor what so ever and only served 3 small veal cutlets. The worst part about this meal was there was no marsala wine in this dish. Also, be on the look out for the hidden "service fee" of 20% that is buried in the check. Be on the look out for this. There was no prior notification of this service fee, which I presume is the tip since it came out to be 20%...... No cool if you ask me.
My husband and I visited Cafe Centro on a slow week day. The service was good. The waitress was attentive.
We chose wine by the glass. The Cabernet was non distinctive. My husbands salad was fresh and well prepared. The entrees were sub par for a restaurant of this caliber.
Found this hidden gem on the Check Please South Florida restaurant tour last month and decided to go back when I had to schedule a dinner meeting last Tuesday night. Food didn't disappoint. My Veal Piccata was excellent and hubby's beet salad and lasagna were yummy. My only complaint came when we asked for separate checks and our server told us that they didn't do that...really? Aside from our table of 4, there was only one other table of 2 in the entire place. It's not as if she was overwhelmed with customers. Normally I would have said let's just split the check, but our portion was considerably higher than the other couple's and I didn't have cash. When I offered just to pay the whole bill, the other couple balked and said let's just be stubborn and wait them out. The server begrudgingly conceded but not before chiding us that we shouldn't let it happen again as she handed us our separate checks (after having to correct them on her first try.)
In an area where couples frequently dine out together I find it incomprehensible that a separate check option is not available. I hope they'll reconsider their "policy".
Would not go back on Sat. night ...unless you reserve a table in the back/piano room and don't want a quiet romantic dinner. Table was in the front room for dinner with clients and was quiet though the waiters were so busy with the back dinning room, our service had much to be desired. For us, best to go for lunch. Back room turned into a disco era scene after dinner.
Located in West Palm Beach Cafe Centro is a place for fine dining without the fuss. Wide variety and exciting menu choices prepared by chefs who i believe really strive to please. Attentive and trained wait staff. The noise level in the front but charming dining room was high considering the room was only half occupied. Regardless, our party of 4 enjoyed a culinary experience. Have dined there before and will return.
We love Cafe Centro and anytime Ray Chang is playing you can be sure it's a big celebration from the beginning to the end of his tremendous one man show. It's like combining a Vegas Revue with New Years Eve every time Ray performs - so much fun for everyone attending. The food was awesome as always. Each time we bring friends who haven't been there before, they love everything about Cafe Centro! Can't wait to go back!
The over all experience was nothing Togo back for Food was bland need seasoning and very small positions service was lacking and we were one of the only two tables on a Friday night at eight o'clock Ten dollars for a single house drink is above the average price. The worst part of the experience was a serving charge of $14.50 was added to the bill for a party of two people
One of our favorite spots while in Florida. Ray Chang is the best of the best all around entertainers and musicians. I've been playing in bands for 38 years and no one is like Ray. He's a gem and you're lucky to have him. Oh - and the food was FANTADTIC too! Haha. See you in September when we return!
This was a half-way point to meet friends for dinner. It was a great choice. The food was very good, and service was also good. The noise level was better than expected. Maybe that was because there were several large parties seated outside on the sidewalk. Three of us had fish and one dish was better than the other! Wish the restaurant was closer to home so we could dine there more frequently.
The food here was so good. We got the chicken parm and the chicken allora. The bread is amazing, kind of like a sweet bread which was really nice. Service was wonderful. My only suggestion is to do something about the noise from the kitchen. Maybe turn up the music a bit. Also the phone rang throughout the place (like you're in someones house) that was a little strange. Overall though, I would visit again.
Food was great but took too long to serve. I was there during work week so I didn't have the time for delays. However I will definitely try again for dinner when I do not have time constraints. I had salmon with Greek salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly and very fresh.
Fish prepared perfectly. Share the delicious Mediterranesn salad to start. A short drive from here to the Kravis Performing Arts Center and better than anything in that vicinity. Front room for dining only; back room has live music and a bar or sit outside under the trees in this fun neighborhood of Northwoid.
My wife and I were probably at least 30 years younger on average than the rest of the patrons, but the energy at this place is one of a younger generation. On weekend nights the piano bar is happening. We sat outside and enjoyed the music, service, and food on a perfect March night in South Florida. We will be back again and again.
We went for Valentine's Day dinner for our first time at this restaurant. It was quite crowded and I believe the staff was overwhelmed. It is a cute artsy place. Food was good, not great, but again, I think it would have been better if it wasn't a holiday. Service was not great as they were understaffed. However, it is a very fun place! There is a piano bar and live music/singer. The dancing is a lot of fun! I would give it another try and would recommend it for a first date experience, as it offers more than just dinner.
