About Cafe Carlo
Cafe Carlo is a friendly, unpretentious Canadian bistro located in Winnipeg’s Little Italy neighborhood. Cafe Carlo’s warm, comfortable atmosphere has been a staple in Winnipeg’s dining scene and continues to be considered among the city’s best restaurants since it was established in 1989. The atmosphere and the décor have evolved from the restaurant’s humble “rummage sale” chic beginnings. The owners and employees believed that a great restaurant simply was meant to be “about the food”. The passion of the very first employees and their love of food & drink remain intact to this day. We want to share the foods and beverages we love, that the world loves, with each of our guests.

Cafe Carlo Ratings and Reviews
It was my first time eating at this restaurant, i was hoping they had good coffee......and they did, it was actually really good that i had more than usual. i ordered the fish tacos which i have had on several occasions at different restaurants, but i enjoyed theirs the most, from taste to presentation, it was excellent!
Cafe Carlo is one of my go to restaurants where I know I will never be disappointed. The food and service are great and it has a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Their signature Fett Chile dish is so good that it’s hard to order anything else. But I ventured out and had the home made gnocchi with beef ragu and it was heavenly. All in all, definitely worth the trip!
We are lucky to have this cafe in our neighbourhood. They are always welcoming and kind and accommodating; just delightful. This is a sophisticated place but also a wonderful choice for families who want a special meal. Our six year old twins were on their best behavior and had a blast.
Celebrated our 35th anniversary with our son and daughter-in-law. Started with a nice glass of cabernet, followed by a goat cheese salad. I had Szechuan linguine, there was an order of the fett chile, the pappardelle, and a chicken pesto order. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was prompt and waitress was pleasant. We have eaten here a number of times and we have never been disappointed. Cost was $220 which also included 1 cosmo and a rye whiskey. We will return.
The food and service were top notch as usual. We never leave disappointed!
We enjoyed many hours luxuriously enjoying our dinners and conversation.
The "Snowtones" sponsored by the Corydon Ave. Biz even made an appearance and entertained with some Christmas season songs.
Good time had by all!
Took a relative out for a birthday dinner. Service was excellent; friendly and attentive. We all had a pasta dish and were all most pleased with our choices. Decent wine and drinks selection. It was very busy as it was a Saturday night so a little noisy but lots of fun. We will definitely return.
As always, terrific. Great food and service. Everything on the menu is delicious but I can’t resist the homemade gnocchi with beef ragu which is out of this world. Great Caesar salad and terrific soaps (corn chorizo, and seafood chowder) as well. If you are a first time diner there and you like a bit of heat, the signature Fett Chile is a must!
This was our first time to Café Carlos but it won't be our last. We had the fish tacos as an appetizer - loved the spicy sauce. We also ordered the signature Fett Chile and it was excellent. We are looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. Service was attentive.
Every food item was very good. Over the top was the knowledgeable waitress, Bonnie. She knew the menu inside / out and had many options for our celiac guest. Not afraid to make suggestions without dominating the decision. The beer and wine list was short but did not detract from the experience.
Cafe Carlo remains one of our favorite places for just about every occasion. The food is consistently great and the service is excellent. The chowders (seafood, corn) are excellent, and the gnocchi with beef ragu is to die for! Also, if you haven’t tried their signature pasta dish, Fett Chile, it’s a must. Cafe Carlo will never disappoint!
