The service was quite slow - we had to wait over half an hour at each stage of the meal. However, the food made up for it more or less.
Good place for brunch.
Excellent meal and serving staff were perfectly attentive.
This is our second time at this restaurant and it’s the second time it has been amazing. Our server made us feel very welcome and interested in our anniversary. He could not have done more to make it a great experience; And combined with the exceptional food, it definitely made our night memorable.
The waiter was amazing. He made off the menu cocktails for us that were DELICIOUS. Both our meals were also delicious. It’s only a tad expensive but everything was done with excellence. We thought our portion size was small but we were full without having appetizers.
I like this place for the gluten-free options, that I can always get a reservation, and it is quiet inside. Perfect for a business breakfast.
The food is only mediocre though, and is extremely expensive for the quality and portions. I have no problem paying for delicious meals, but this place is nothing special. They don’t have any interesting ingredients or cooking styles, and any meal I have eaten there has been small and bland.
Love the vibe and great cooking.
Ate on a Tuesday night. Mine and my partner's food was too salty, service was a little slow, but acceptable, just not 5 star. For the price we paid, it wasn't worth it.
Service was inattentive. We were there early am for business breakfast, no one else there but two tables, should not have been an issue. Should not have to work so hard to get their attention for coffee refills, to order, to get coffee refills, to get check, etc etc.
Decor is great, its comfortable, and the food is great. They need to overhaul their service.
Very bad services
Service was on point. Food was amazing. Probably the best steak tartare we've experienced. The whole rotisserie duck meal was extraordinary. Would have loved to try several dessert options but we were so full and satisfied!
Great all round
The brunch menu was extensive. The Crepe Suzette was out of this world. Portions are extremely generous. Highly recommend it.
Nice Sunday brunch. Amazing menu for easter Sunday. Oysters were fresh. Dessert was good.
At $100 per person for brunch (no liquor) I expected more. The server was disengaged, brought nothing positive to the experience (e.g. no interest in discussing the menu) and seemed to know little about serving in what is touted as a top French dining restaurant. The food was fine but I expected exceptional. For example, my poached egg was a bit overcooked and I can only describe the selections on the cheese plate as "grocery store quality". Again, I expected something more interesting than plain old brie and blue at Cafe Boulud.
I wouldn't bother to go again. Toronto has too many outstanding spots to visit here twice!
Booked Cafe Boulud for our first wedding anniversary dinner and we were wow'd from start to finish. This is one of those rare places that make you feel like you're somewhere else. The vibe seemed like this was the type of place to see and be seen and the restaurant itself was upscale, clean, and modern but with warm touches.
I can't decide between talking about the food first or the service. Cafe Bouluds service standards are impeccable. Our server Zach was very intuitive and proactive with our needs and had an exceptional wine and food knowledge and his wine suggestions with each course were all unique and absolutely on-point. The 2 of us felt like we had a very personalized experience and we really appreciated all of his hard work.
The food though, oh my god. I thought I was going to cry when I tried the pate en croute for the first time. Having just recently returned home from Paris a couple of months ago, this was BETTER than any pate I had in Paris itself. The other charcuterie was also outstanding. The 24 day steak was extremely tasty and the sauce was rich and flavourful. The scallop dish was on special which was rich and unique as I had never seen scallops served with parsnips and we loved it.
We loved absolutely everything about our experience and it made our anniversary a special memory that will last for years to come. We can't wait to come back. (On the pricey side- $400 for the 2 of us but you could go cheaper if you don't go crazy like we did). So worth it. Such a special place.
Great food, service and ambiance! I loved it.
Treated my friend for a birthday dinner and loved it. For her birthday the staff gave us an extra dessert and even surprised us with a decorative plate of Madeleine cookies. We were very impressed with the service and were so grateful that they made her birthday an unforgettable experience.
Merci pour l’accueil très chaleureux du personnel, l’atmosphere et la créativité délicieuse des plats présentés !
Always a wonderful experience at Cafe Bulud. The food and especially the service is top notch!
Food was great but there was an abundance of screaming kids/toddlers
Good variety of choices on menu.
Everything we had was delicious .
Nice ambiance .
Servers were very friendly!
But took a while to take the our order.
service was excellent and staff very friendly. The food was very testy and the presentation very nice. Did not feel rushed and we could have a conversation. very nice evening.
We love the ambiance at this restaurant
Great spot when in the Yorkville area. Food and service always outstanding. Expect nothing less from The Four Seasons and their affiliates.
We did not stay for dinner. Noisy! Not conducive to a small quiet dinner. Your can hear the music and the conversation from the DBar people the floor below. A 5 oz glass of wine was at the minimum $17.00 to $24.00. The wine list while extensive is only appropriate for those who have an unlimited budget or are on an expense account. The menu choices a o.k. but the prices are over the top. $16.00 for a bowl of onion soup - outrageous! Again if you have an unlimited budget or are on an expense account maybe?? I assume because it is in the Four Seasons Hotel and it's a French restaurant they think they can get away with the pricing. I can not give you a review on the food as we did not eat anything. The server was quite pleasant and when we got up to leave the Manager came over to offer us a glass of wine or to split an entree with us and asked if there was anything he could do to have us stay. Nice touch, but not for us and probably never will be! Sorry Cafe Boulud.
Best fried chicken, crisp, light, moist! Other dishes were equally delicious. Dining room was full but surpisingly quiet - very easy to have conversations with friends. Great place for a relaxed Sunday brunch.
It’s a lovely quiet and confortable restaurant. The food was good. But our experience booking through OpenTable was less than ideal. There was no information at time of booking that for brunch on Sunday, that all guests Are required to order at least two courses at a price of $48 — Regardless if it was eggs or steak. Table assigned to us was set for five. Even though the reservation was for four people. We had to ask if we could sit at another table that was available and set for four. But why wouldn’t the host offer that to us?
Similarly, for this calibre of restaurant. Was surprised about the limited menu offerings and the limited opportunity to make adjustments. Alternate ingredients were not suggested, even when there are allergies. (Only the offer to delete ingredients). The experience seemed to me to be about standardized products and a limited menu for simplicity in the kitchen, rather than the more personalized service I would expect at a restaurant of this calibre and price point. Similarly, steaks that were ordered medium came rare (or medium rare at best).
Charging extra for things like toast or breakfast potatoes when you’re ordering a pricy two or three course meal seemed like a money grab. I feel sorry for guests staying at the hotel that can’t have a one course breakfast at their hotel on the werkend, if they desire.
The pastries were delicious. The yoghurt parfait was fresh and good as were the chocolate molten cakes. Caesar salad was pretty good too. It is a very lovely reasonably quiet spot with views overlooking Yorkville
I would come back to the restaurant at another time. But In my experience the hallmark of a top-quality restaurant is the service — making sure guests are comfortable, offering suggestions to customize menu items or seating as needed, and ensuring items like steak are prepared as ordered. Which were lacking the day we were there.
We had an overall great experience.
We took our parents out for brunch to celebrate their 72nd
The restaurant was advised of the occasion.
The food was acceptable but not reflective of the price.
Service was not attentive. Had to ask for things several times. Waiter seemed to be new. We expected better.
Restaurant does not live up to its reputation.
Would likely not go back.
I was disappointed in my Kale salad....had been looking forward to having the Frisee salad but it was taken of off the menu
Awesome food and service as always!
Thank you for an excellent service!!
You are treated wonderfully here - the very best service imaginable. The special Tuesday charcuterie table is a treat. I had a grapefruit-based dessert that was very unusual, and outstanding. We have been a few times to this restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel. Always a great experience.
Steak tartare was fantastic. Service was fantastic.
Food, ambience and service was second to none. Bit pricey but overall and awesome experience for special occasions. Thank you Razeen ( Our server/waiter) for your personalized and very attentive service.
It was very nice having the cake that I have requested!
Thank you for all your attention
