We did not stay for dinner. Noisy! Not conducive to a small quiet dinner. Your can hear the music and the conversation from the DBar people the floor below. A 5 oz glass of wine was at the minimum $17.00 to $24.00. The wine list while extensive is only appropriate for those who have an unlimited budget or are on an expense account. The menu choices a o.k. but the prices are over the top. $16.00 for a bowl of onion soup - outrageous! Again if you have an unlimited budget or are on an expense account maybe?? I assume because it is in the Four Seasons Hotel and it's a French restaurant they think they can get away with the pricing. I can not give you a review on the food as we did not eat anything. The server was quite pleasant and when we got up to leave the Manager came over to offer us a glass of wine or to split an entree with us and asked if there was anything he could do to have us stay. Nice touch, but not for us and probably never will be! Sorry Cafe Boulud.
It’s a lovely quiet and confortable restaurant. The food was good. But our experience booking through OpenTable was less than ideal. There was no information at time of booking that for brunch on Sunday, that all guests Are required to order at least two courses at a price of $48 — Regardless if it was eggs or steak. Table assigned to us was set for five. Even though the reservation was for four people. We had to ask if we could sit at another table that was available and set for four. But why wouldn’t the host offer that to us?
Similarly, for this calibre of restaurant. Was surprised about the limited menu offerings and the limited opportunity to make adjustments. Alternate ingredients were not suggested, even when there are allergies. (Only the offer to delete ingredients). The experience seemed to me to be about standardized products and a limited menu for simplicity in the kitchen, rather than the more personalized service I would expect at a restaurant of this calibre and price point. Similarly, steaks that were ordered medium came rare (or medium rare at best).
Charging extra for things like toast or breakfast potatoes when you’re ordering a pricy two or three course meal seemed like a money grab. I feel sorry for guests staying at the hotel that can’t have a one course breakfast at their hotel on the werkend, if they desire.
The pastries were delicious. The yoghurt parfait was fresh and good as were the chocolate molten cakes. Caesar salad was pretty good too. It is a very lovely reasonably quiet spot with views overlooking Yorkville
I would come back to the restaurant at another time. But In my experience the hallmark of a top-quality restaurant is the service — making sure guests are comfortable, offering suggestions to customize menu items or seating as needed, and ensuring items like steak are prepared as ordered. Which were lacking the day we were there.
We took our parents out for brunch to celebrate their 72nd
The restaurant was advised of the occasion.
The food was acceptable but not reflective of the price.
Service was not attentive. Had to ask for things several times. Waiter seemed to be new. We expected better.
Restaurant does not live up to its reputation.
Would likely not go back.
I was disappointed in my Kale salad....had been looking forward to having the Frisee salad but it was taken of off the menu
Thank you for an excellent service!!
You are treated wonderfully here - the very best service imaginable. The special Tuesday charcuterie table is a treat. I had a grapefruit-based dessert that was very unusual, and outstanding. We have been a few times to this restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel. Always a great experience.
Steak tartare was fantastic. Service was fantastic.
Food, ambience and service was second to none. Bit pricey but overall and awesome experience for special occasions. Thank you Razeen ( Our server/waiter) for your personalized and very attentive service.
It was very nice having the cake that I have requested!
Thank you for all your attention
Be of the consistently BEST restaurants in Toronto. Well worth the money.
Wonderful as usual. Elegant but not over the top formal. Food is great and service is fantastic. Highly recommend
Good food. Good service other than the waiter spilling a drink. A bit pricey.
Lovely dinner, great friendly service!
Everything was perfect, only slight complaint was that the music from the bar below was a bit loud.
The food was just okay, service was a bit slow, the hostesses were not that on point. Overall I don't think I would come back here for brunch. Nothing special and not worth the price unfortunately because the interior design is lovely. I expected more for the Four Seasons.
Fantastic experience at Café Boulud on Sat night. Service was amazing and the food was very tasty. They were very accommodating to our friend's 2.5 yr old son. He was a good boy all night, but the server made him part of the evening by befriending him. Very cool. It was my husband's birthday and he said he would go back there again for any occasion and he's a hobby chef!! :)
Our server was attentive yet gave us space. It was a delicious meal and the molten chocolate cake was amazing! Had a wonderful time!
We enjoyed our Saturday brunch - celebrated our friends birthday. Delicious food & outstanding seevice.
Food was fantastic. We will be back for sure!
Visited the cafe for lunch on Family Day. Ambiance was amazing at the resto, the decor was beautiful and vintage. The service was sub-par, considering this Cafe is in the Four Seasons and has a pricey menu. I ordered an omelette with mushrooms, I think there were about 5 mushrooms in total which I was disappointed with and the omelette was way too thick for my liking. Overall, I wouldn’t come back, I was expecting a much better experience than I got!
Food was mediocre. I couldn’t tell if the duck confit was actually duck or beef. I expect better quality for the price.
My wife and I went for a late Valentines day dinner. It was a fabulous experience. The menu is straight-fowardly 'French Bistro'. Onion soup, steak tartar, and steak frites, foie gras tourchon, ... All the favorites are here. This isn't a place to find the latest trend.
Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. I recommend Cafe Boulud for any romantic occasion.
Both a comfortable and exquisite dining experience at the same time. Excellent food, superb service in a tasteful, elegant atmosphere and at a great city location too. Hard not to gush about this gem.
Came here once before and the meal was fantastic. 2nd time here for belated valentine weekend. Apps were better than the mains. Wife orders steak medium rare and it arrives well over. Sends it back. We thought second steak would arrive shortly. I finish my main.. And her steak shows up 5 minutes later and it still wasn't a perfect medium rare. So basically I ate mine with her staring at me and she ate hers with me staring at her. Just terrible.
We also ordered an expensive wine. Waiter comes and pours remaining bottle. Then takes it away with at least a full glass remaining. We thought he did this thinking they are bringing extra glasses of something special for the steak screw up. Nope. I'm sorry.. But everyone knows the mark up of wine, and then we lose a glass on a bottle. Not acceptable. It felt like this place just can't operate well while it's busy. We won't come again.
Went for Brunch with a baby and stroller. They were very accommodating with giving us a table with room around. The food was good, the portions were big and the service was very attentive. Would definitely do brunch again.
The hostesses were absolutely charming. Had the crepes and the Eggs Benny and they were both really good. I suppose it can't be helped in a large hotel, but I could have done without the bevy of loud infants. It be nice if they had a quiet section. Other than that, it was really nice place with a great decor.
Overall experience was wonderful
Knockout new menu, great vibe.
Food were too salty.
Food is great，service is awsome. I would recommend it when you need to celebrate an aniversary or a date.
food is not good. seats r very tight， average
Awesome experience from beginning to end!! Special thanks to Zachary for providing excellent service and great recommendations.
Cafe Boulud has been consistently good every time I’ve gone with my wife. Brunch and dinner has attentive service; the food is fantastic with great portions; and it has a nice ambiance that isn’t distracting when you’re trying to talk. It’s definitely our place for special occasions now.
Sorry I cannot give this restaurant a great review. I had high expectations and the restaurant came short of these expectations. I understand that this restaurant is under a great chef who serves up bistro inspired French food. Overall, I think the food lacked interest and taste. It was very bland, save for the deserts, which were tasty and imaginative. I ordered salmon trout and while it was competently cooked, it was tasteless, no citrus, no herbs, nothing but a piece of fish on a plate with vegetables and potatoes. My friend ordered duck and it was also pretty tasteless. Sorry, I would have liked to have said better things but just feel that I cannot lie.
Great had a good time
An enjoyable lunch with impeccable service and excellent food .
Always enjoy dining here. Service & food excellent!
My friend and I both ordered steak frites for lunch. The fries were the worst we have ever had with steak frites. Either they are just really bad or were sitting around for a long time and got cold. The décor in the restaurant was nice enough and the chairs were comfortable. My friend said that her steak was undercooked. Dessert was just average. Quite a disappointment for a restaurant in a Four Seasons.
Everything was excellent. The service was quick, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly. I was here at lunch with a friend and have previously been to Cafe Boulud for dinner. The main difference was the lighting. The interior lighting was too bright during the day. I enjoyed the ambiance when I was there for dinner. It made me feel like my friend and I were alone in a busy room. I was expecting that same feeling at lunch. This is a minor opinion. Everything was lovely otherwise.
