A gleaming rotisserie is used to slow-roast chicken à la broche, whole lobster, and even rum-scented pineapple. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, and offer brunch on Sundays.
Designed by Martin Brudnizki of London. The vintage-inspired ambiance is highlighted by a comfortable lounge and wraparound banquettes, a dining counter, and a semi-private room that accommodates up to eight guests. The restaurant has received several accolades since its renovation including Best Restaurant in Canada at the Notable Awards and Canada's Hundred Best Restaurants.
Lovely dinner. Incredible dessert. Great service. A wonderful experience. The grapefruit givre was awe inspiring.
One of my favourite restaurants but unfortunately my wife got sick from the oysters this time.
The food was hit and miss. The escargot and the tuna tartar were amazing. The "special" Salad Nicoise was not very special. Cocktails were tasty. Service was amazing. Warm, friendly and attentive.
Booked Cafe Boulud 'Weekend Brunch' however at time of reservation only Four
Seasons hotel breakfast available. Better OpenTable/Restaurant coordination required. Disappointed.
Food and service excellent! Will definitely return and recommend to our friends.
It cold not have been better. I felt like I was at a starred restaurant. Food was impeccable, service amazing, ambience terrific, loved every second of it. Wouldn’t change a thing!!! Highly recommended.
Glad to celebrate my birthday here. Great food and service! Will definitely come here again.
We ordered duck confit which was inedible because it was so salty. The restaurant took the duck away and replaced it with chicken seamlessly. Still this cast a pall over the evening.
Had a nice brunch with some old friends. Our server was very kind but my coffee was empty more often then not and they took my friends credit cards to the back without telling us why. When he came back and took mine I asked where he was going with it and had to call him back twice, not that we recieved an answer.
All in all though, I would go back. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is amazing!
I’ve dined at all the “high end” restaurants in the city, this wasn’t our first time here and our server Zack was by far the best. Great experience. Thank you
Ordered the escargot, octopus, duck and the steak tartare paired with a bottle of 2002 Bordeaux. Loved everything except the steak tartare - the spices and sauces (Tobasco) added really took away from the flavour of a nice tartare. Found the presentation of the tartare to be very poor as well. All the other items were great and service was amazing!
As always we enjoy our experiences… Starting with the leader Jeremy and Zack looking after us, everything was outstanding… It is definitely our top pack in the city....
I went there with a friend who has a severe cow dairy allergy. I informed Cafe Boulud when booking, and they advised my friend to give them a call to "discuss" what she intended on ordering. When my friend called the restaurant, she was told Why are you calling? Just tell your server.
When we arrived for brunch, the menu had changed from what had appeared online the night before. My friend had a very limited selection now. The server informed us that the menu had changed several weeks ago. She was excellent in the manner in which she dealt with the situation. She was knowledgeable and took the problem seriously.
The food was tasty and well-presented.
They're known for their rotisserie and it is easy to understand why - perfectly seasoned and cooked. The side dishes were obviously made with care and expertise too. Service was impeccable, classy setting without being uptight. Great setting to catch with my friends!
Food is drastically overpriced for the value. Small servings. Waiter hovered over our table and repeatedly asked us whether we needed anything. Steak was sliced and presented on plate (wasn't aware that was the approach being used) and was tough. The DBar downstairs generated a lot of distracting noise. Too much duck on the menu as well (it's 2019, and people are eating far less duck). Might want to shift the menu from all French to something that is more European. The bathrooms are too far away from the restaurant as well. Overall, disappointed.
It is always a great experience at Cafe Boulud. Beautifully prepared food and professional staff makes dining there a pleasure
The food was superb. I and another one of the guests ordered a second serving of our appetizers - the calamari and the escargot. These two particular appetizers were so delicious. The restaurant is spacious, yet dived up by pillars, dividers, and decorative curtains so tables feel very private. The service was impeccable. It was an awesome treat to dine here.
What a beautiful space!! This restaurant is absolutely perfect from the food to the space to the service! They were accommodating to dietary restrictions. The service was impeccable, attentive, friendly and professional.
Service was excellent. My cup of coffee was kept full the whole time and it was always hot. Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Very friendly and professional service
Service is very good, decor and ambiance is very good.
The food is good but not outstanding compared to the price. I recommend it
Server was excellent and service was quick. Food was delicious and of exceptional value. This was definitely a highlight of our trip. Thank you!
My friend’s 60th birthday
Excellent food and service with no attitude. Highly recommended.
I would recommend the Cafe for people seeking comfort and luxury. This bistro style restaurant strikes the right balance. I ordered the Tartine Salmon wanting a light lunch but it lacked the sophistication implied in the price point and the peacocking of the establishment. Otherwise the service was excellent and the ambience was perfect.
service was rushed and not attentive. Didn't listen to requests for items to be left off order.
overall understaffed on the last visit.
Had an ok experience. Our waitress wasn’t particularly warm or engaging. It was just average. Our waitress could’ve made more of an effort to be friendly given that it was my birthday. Was a bit disappointed by this type of reception.
Whole duck is best duck I ever had in the city
And fantastic service
It pains me to write this review. I went to Cafe Boulud with really high expectations last weekend. I dined with two of my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. I've read so many spectacular reviews that we were also very excited to try this restaurant. Maybe it was valentines weekend or short staff that caused our not so great experience.
Our waiter was not very engaging, maybe he had too many tables to look after. We waited a long time before he approached us for our drinks, another long wait for our dinner order. When clearing our tables to make room for dinner plates, the side plate fell and broke right on the table beside my arm, I didn't complain but no manager came by to even say anything.
All our food took a long time to arrive. For our mains, I ordered the steak tartare and my friends go the steak. Both steaks were overcooked and cold, management did offer to replace them, but everyone was so hungry that no one wanted to wait another 30 minutes to eat. My tartare was overpowered by too much mustard, if that's what they meant by spicy then I would have had it as is.
We did ask for a bottle of sparkling water, but the waiter kept refilling it without asking if we wanted a 2nd or 3rd bottle... we discovered that on the bill at the end. The manager did comp one of the steaks, but our whole night was ruined with disappointment by that time. I'm so so disappointed, i was expecting amazing service, attentive wait staff and spectacular food... but we got none of that. Sorry Cafe Boulud, I don't think I will be coming back.
Café Boulud is always a go to for working dinners! The staff is incredible, service top tier and the food always delicious.
Had a great date night there with my wife. Would definitely go back.
Great food! Will definitely recommen this restaurant to my friends.
Thank you for a lovely dinner & for the extra touches to celebrate my birthday.
I was very disappointed in the quality and taste of the food. I ordered salad niçoise thinking that co I got from a chef Like Mr. Boulud would be out of this world. It had a big chu k of lettuce, 3 pieces of green beans, 3 very small tune which was perfectly done( the only ingredient tasty), 3 wry small cherry tomatoes boiled, skin removed but no taste, 1 anchovy and 3 fingerling potatoes boiled and no taste. The famous dressing was missing or absent from the dish and actually all there was present was a bowl of lettuce. It was $29 for that so called salad with so few and missing ingredients. I had to go home and eat something to appease my hunger. I think chef Boulud needs to hear this review and do something about his Niçoise salad.
I just wanted to have a much more positive experience but I did not.
Steak was medium rare and cold instead of medium well. Was already 11pm, didn’t want another one so instead of not charging for the steak, they only comped 1 drink. We waited an extra 20min for our table. While they abandon your reservation if you’re more than 15min late. In any case, we had many other places to choose from in the area, we tried this one and won’t go back. The value is not there but sure, the ambiance is nice.
Very good except crab bisque appetizer wasn’t hot. We told the waiter, he seemed concerned about it, walked around restaurant without talking to anyone, and returned to his station without further comment.
Good quality food and prepared excellently. Grass fed steak. Heritage chicken. Heirloom vegetables. Family style dining. Fabulous pastry chef.
