The most important thing in the service industry is to make every customer feel that they are not just valued but remembered from their last visit, if that is the case, recognised and really warmly welcomed with some relevant comments on possibly their hopefully comic behaviour.
This was the scenario on our last visit. Embarrassed...yes mildly, but fondly remembered... Yes.
Well done to all of the Staff. Thank you.
Service was good. Lovely restaurant. Steak was very small.
Lunch on a busy Saturday was perhaps not the best time to judge, but all the same it was very noisy and difficult to have a conversation. My steak was perfect, the mussels were good and the vegan options were good too - if a little limited in choice. None of us liked our desserts much. The service was very good and the atmosphere wonderfully French. Definitely worth a visit.
Fantastic very lively Soho restaurant bar. Really handy for nearby post theatre dinner. Extremely popular and busy so noise level is very high especially on a weekend night. But great staff, service and simple but exquisite food transcends any concerns. Fully recommend.
Food was excellent, staff were friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. Overall a lovely dining experience
Great ambience, decent food but variable service. Liked the Sunday afternoon band playing and my mussels were great. Maybe we just got the waitress on a bad day, but she was not very attentive.
Unbelievable service, the staff are truly out of this world and are a credit to their work place.
Great fresh produce
It does the job, but nothing special.
Fairly noisy if you want to catch up with friend. Food v average
Fast service for pre theatre, lovely ambience, tasty food, good value
Been to Cafe Boheme a few times now and our first try of the menu formule. My friends beef stew was a bigger success than my duck. I felt the latter was pre cooked (apologies if not) and whilst edible left me underwhelmed. Yes I would go again as it is more intimate than several places in the same area though I cannot help with a bit more effort...... Service was fine and at £21 each for a plat + side and 2 coffees (no booze) on a similar price point than say Balans and Old Compton Brasserie.
Went for a meal pre theatre . Perfect location as theatre just opposite. Food and value for money was excellent had 2 course for £15 . It felt like we were in a traditional Parisian restaurant a great find . will definitely recommend
We had a pre-theatre dinner for four - two adults and two ‘almost teenagers’. We ate rib-eye steaks, fries and mixed salad and my husband and I ordered a yummy carafe of red wine.
Our table was in a cosy corner and our food arrived quickly.
Our waitress was lovely although a little too keen to empty the contents of the carafe into our wine glasses.
Worth eating here if you are in need of a pre or post theatre meal in Soho.
Had a lovely breakfast there and the veggie breakfast was lovely
Excellent place for a pre-matinee brunch on a Saturday. Attentive and friendly service and good value
Came to Cafe Boheme for the first time in 10+ years for a pre-theatre meal and was very much looking forward to it. We arrived 15 minutes early, but it still took over an hour and a quarter to receive our main courses. When the mains finally arrived, we had about five minutes to eat and had to cancel the dessert course of the set-price menu in order to make it to the theatre on time.
Unfortunately the ladies room was filthy as well, as if no one had checked it all day--always a red flag at a restaurant.
On the plus side, the manager did comp our drinks to make up for the long wait, but it was a disappointing meal overall.
Another lovely meal. Choice of food was great. Good portion size. Live jazz was a bonus. Prompt and polite service. Excellent value for money!
Please thank the charming maitre de for being so friendly and helpful.
Lovely Bustling bistro in Soho - recommended for drinks or dinner
I love it there. We arrived at 12.30 for lunch and then moved to the musics seats until 7.30pm. Perfect!!
What a great afternoon. With live music. Not too loud that you couldn’t chat. Lovely warm atmosphere.
Food good. Can’t wait to go back
There for lunch last Sunday and my neighbour on the next table to the side of me was almost sitting on my lap, as 3 people were seated around a small table for two on a church bench. Not the most comfortable of experiences, however I’ve been going to cafe Boheme since it opened, and that wouldn’t put me off. Can be crowded out - even when you bother to book.
A Wonderful Pre Christmas, Pre Theatre Family get together for lunch
The food was good value and service prompt, however the noise level was insane for a restaurant, people were shouting to be heard. Not ideal for relaxing and enjoying your meal.
Went with few girlfriends for dinner and drinks.place was a bit noisier than expected as we sat very close to the bar,but had a fantastic time.service is great, food was fantastic.highly recommend it.
Great place to eat and fun atmosphere to sit in. ,,,,,,,,
Good food but it was too loud
Nice little bistro with a good atmosphere we dined pre theatre and enjoyed it very much
I love Cafe Boheme
Great food , great atmosphere
Great place and excellent service. Food is good but not spectacular.
Lovely food, good service, great atmosphere. Had the pre theatre 2course menu and a bottle of wine which came to £80 so without the deal I think it would have been quite expensive. So you must order by 6.30!
Food was cold when it came. Didn’t revive our drinks until after we finished food by then the coffee had gone cold. Not impressed really.
Superb atmosphere, drinks and delicious food. Service very attentive and friendly. Went for a Christmas lunch with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Finding somewhere to have a relaxed lunch in Soho is not easy and Café Boheme was great on all fronts. Welcoming staff and good food (even the bavette steak which was part of the steak frites offer was pink and tender) combined with good atmosphere and good value. A glass of wine each, sparkling water and coffee/tea and it was less than £60 inc service. I will be back.
Delightful service from Lucy , lovely food, beautiful surroundings.
Lovely staff, quick service and delicious food! :)
It felt like the team were overworked and lacking motivation today. Service is usually amazing but not so this evening. I’m sure it was just a one off, we’ve been coming here for over 20 years and this is the first time we’ve had cause to comment negatively.
Service was horrendous. I will definitely not be returning. I was charged for a glass of champagne that I did not order and the server refused to take it off the bill. Food/ambiance in general was lively and fun but service ruined the experience.
Lovelly setting and great location - however unfortunately on this occassion it was super busy, so noisy you couldn't speak and the waiting staff coulnd't hear and the food was poor, service was slow and sporadic, with meals all arriving at different times and staff berderline rude as they were just too busy - will be sticking to this as a brunch location dinner was disappointing.
Very lively buzzing atmosphere, but rather noisy for a group of five middle aged ladies on a theatre trip.
One of the party was rather uncomfortable as five of us were squashed onto a table for four so she had to try to sit across a corner, otherwise there wouldn’t have been room for us to use knives and forks however much we ‘kept our wings in’.
I did recommend this restaurant to the people in the row in front of us in the theatre as they’d heard us talking about it.
Very good well priced food with great ambiance. Can be very noisy
