Excellent service; very good food; very reasonable prices
We've been customers of Cafe Bizou since it opened. We have never been disappointed.
The portions, the food, the bar, the service, the price...all fine. Quality dining. We are not the only ones who think so judging from the familiar faces we've seen over the years. Young and old alike, and everyone in between, will find delicious meals and a great neighborhood feel. Enjoy!
Birthday, anniversary and reunion with old friends! 2 if us ordered the off menu item, champagne lobster pasta and it was delicious! We have been going here for decades! Miss the Pasadena location! It was our favorite.
This is our favorite dining place after the Hollywood Pantages matinee. We made a reservation (highly recommended). The food is great. The service is great. The pricing reasonable. And, they don't rush you to open a table.
One of our favorite that we return to over and over. Good food, $2 corking fee and reliable service.
Always a delight to eat here. The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
Still the best dining choice. Brought in the guests from Sweden today, they absolutely loved the food. Every dish on the menu is a worthy pick
I hope this was just an off night, service was horrid! 30 minutes until our order was taken, then 30 more until appetizers came out, one was forgotten completely. Waiter would constantly rush by our table without even glancing our way. Whole experience was like this. Finally after 2 1/2 hours with our dessert dishes sitting on our table for 20 minutes, I had to go to the manager to get our check.
A packed Saturday night and it was still a great birthday dinner for a friend. The only reason I didn't give the food a 5 was that my husband's salmon wasn't cooked as well as he'd asked. He didn't ask for out to be cooked note because or was so busy. Our birthday friend is vegetarian and there aren't many options. Her Brussels sprouts were average but our server took them off the bill. The corkage fee is completely reasonable and we had a wonderful evening. Then when our Open Table reso didn't get credited, they fixed it the next day! Stellar but for the 2 food things mentioned. We will not hesitate to go again and again. Thanks for a great evening!
What a find, a French restaurant that can satisfy many eaters. The food was well priced, delicious and came out fast. Even accommodated making a simple pasta dish for a toddler. I will be back for certain. Also, $2 corkage fee!
VERY GOOD FOOD AT VERY REASONABLE PRICES. They had my reservation, I arrived on time and the table was ready for us. Our server was terrific.
Had a problem with my food My potatoes were not cooked completely. We never saw the waiter until the check came after we finished eating. I would say the service is poor to mediocre. After learning of this there was no effort to reduce the charge or offer a desert or anything .
The prix fixe lunch menu is an absolutely terrific value and delicious! I will definitely be coming back for dinner.
Terrific, as always. Great $2.00 corkage deal. Check out the chocolate martini.
Amazing ambiance & amazing food. Best value for your money
You always know what to expect with this place. And they are always up to par. We love their Prix fix menu $32. This time they had a special Lobster Prix fix, also $32 that they don't always have. Good food, good value, and great service.
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious. The staff is very friendly. Always a good choice to book.
Our favorite restaurant in the Valley. We love this place and have been coming for years.
We love Cafe Bizou! Phillipe and staff are always warm, caring and great servers. The food is always tasty and served well.
Four of us made reservations for 7:00 however we were not seated until 7:30. Due to the large crowd the service was not as attentive as usual.
These two items reduced our review from 5 to 4 but will not prevent our return.
First the positive. the food is pretty good and a good value. A big menu. The ingredients seemed fresh. We had a nice desert (flourless chocolate cake). The problem with the restaurant is the noise!. We had reservations for 7 PM . we did not get seated until 7:30 PM. The waiting is next to the bar. The noise was deafening. The option was to stand outside, but you would never know if your table was ready. I never heard anybody's name being called. Granted the host seemed to know who was next but the system was not shared. The seating inside the restaurant was cramped and still pretty noisy.
I love this restaurant and go often. The food is delicious and reasonably priced
I enjoy Cafe Bizou, with 10 to 15 visits a year. Great spot.
Highly recommended. Sherman Oaks is the original location, and it's the one with the most charm. The restaurant started in a converted house, and has expanded into the next house. The food is always excellent, and they tend to have a prix fixe menu available for lunch and dinner that's a real bargain. We were there for a birthday, and the birthday girl (woman) was served a slice of their flourless chocolate torte with a candle in it. We requested no singing, but the staff normally sings to the birthday person. It's a great place for lunch or dinner - alone, with friends, regular time, special occasion, you name it. I have to admit we haven't tried all their openers - their lobster bisque is so good we always order that. But between various friends and me, we've sampled much of the rest of their menu and never been disappointed.
Valet parking during meal hours, as they're right on Ventura Blvd and street parking is minimal and hard to find most days. But sometimes you can find a place on the street. They're pretty busy, so reservations are a good idea, and essential for a large group.
Lobster special is great ! Nice restaurant for dates or family! Casual but classy and always comfortable! Wear your jeans but bring your manners !
The food is always delicious and so very reasonable. You can't beat the inexpensive corkage. And if you sit on the enclosed patio, it doesn't get more romantic. We LOVE Cafe Bizou!!
Outstanding overall experience and great food and service. A gem of a find and I highly recommend it for anyone.
Wonderful food at fair prices. Impeccable service. What's not to love?
This is my favorite restaurant on the Boulevard. Food is delicious, service is attentive, and prices are affordable enough to stop by often.
Ladies room situation is horrible
Great restaurant! Excellent food, wide selection, superior service and superb value. Every time I've been there the experience is top notch. Highly recommend.
I've lost count how many times I've had a great meal at Cafe Bizou. It's always great. Service is terrific. Reasonable. Perfect for Birthdays and Showers.
Very fun evening celebrating a friends birthday with great food.
We went for brunch on a Sunday and the restaurant was crowded with large groups celebrating happy occasions. It's a great place for family gatherings. The service was a little slow, due to the large groups, but it was cordial and thoughtful. Our food was served hot and the waiter was kind enough to bring us a complimentary dessert because we mentioned that our friends were welcoming a new grandchild. All in all, it remains a comfortable, well-situated place to meet our friends who drive over the hill to join us.
Great food, staff, and service. Always wonderful to go there and enjoy a nice evening.
Great service - great price -
The only think that I will recommend is to train the hostess at the hostess desk a
customer service - she was not friendly - rude - we had reservation as everybody had but she was not coordinating professionally - no smile no welcome - we were on time .she asked us , not in the professional manner if four of us are here we said yes . Then she said you can wait ! WOW. No apology no time frame - no concern -
Train her - she should not be there if she does not like her job - there are many people out their who would love to have her job . A simple smile and kindness and acknowledgement at hostess desk is all you need .
I will recommend your establishment to friends and colleges but I will tell them about your rude hostess too .
I always enjoy Cafe Bizou and the deeply discounted corkage fee!
I always love to go to Cafe Bizou. My son loves the Lobster and Shrimp Risotto, he usually gets that when we come. My daughter is a vegetarian. She loved the potato and mushroom soup. It was tasty and thick- perfect for a cold night. She was so full from the soup she could only eat a third of her pasta and vegetable entree. My husband and I got the Chilean sea bass. Both of ours were undercooked. My husband had his cooked further and was fine when it returned. The rubbery consistency of mine made me decide not to get it back and asked for some bruschetta which is always great. I think it was early and the kitchen was getting inundated- I’ll give them a pass this time.
Great food in a nice atmosphere
This place was worth the drive, it is nice to see a restaurant that is not trying to price gouge you.
Our server James provided excellent professional just the right amount of attention.
Very good authentic French , not modern French food.
Onion soup = Dark rich broth very tasty.
Escargot = Large tender in the shell, mild garlic flavor a bit on the oily side not buttery, 6 are
Halibut = Two different sizes are a great idea, two different prices, perfectly cooked.
Bouillabaisse = Great price, nice tasty broth, could not taste the fennel, lots of sea food, forgot to
deliver the Aioli, when it was delivered it was pink and tasted like Thousand Island
dressing. Friday special worth a try.
Baguette = Good except that it was pale on the outside and undercooked inside.
This was our first time here, we will be back.
