Very nice old style atmosphere restaurant with good cocktails and food at moderate prices.
The quality & consistency of the food is always amazing. Their steak is out of the world. I would love to know the secret of making it so tender. Bizou never disappoints.
We come often. We were celebrating our friend's birthday. He had never been here before. He was thrilled at his menu choice of beef Wellington. Plus they made the celebration more special by bringing dessert for him with a birthday candle.
Ask for Lazare. His service is impeccable.
Had the 3 course lunch special for Sunday lunch. I ordered the trio of meat. A recommend!
While I've always loved dining at this restaurant, I cannot say that the service for my particular visit was exemplary. In fact, it was leaning towards mediocrity. We were a group of ten and they were nice enough to call ahead and confirm the reservation. One would expect then that they would be ready for the service that a big group demands. Our server was doubling as bartender and never had an opportunity to even check on us periodically as is customary. Whenever we needed something (water, coffee, refills, dessert, etc.), one member of the party would get up to ask either the maitre d' or another fleeting waitstaff. It was horrid to say the least.
I have yet to have a bad meal at this restaurant.
Nice touch by the waiter to bring a piece of chocolate cake with a candle to celebrate our friend’s birthday.
I took a friend for her birthday and we had a very pleasant evening. My Macadamia Nut Crusted Alaskan Halibut was wonderful as was her Parmesan Crusted Wild Alaskan Sandabs. The server brought a lovely, light chocolate mousse cake for her birthday dessert. Very nice service and ambiance.
Delicious food at reasonable prices. Service is efficient and gracious. One of my favorite restaurants. I would recommend to anyone!
Cafe Bizou has a nice ambience and good food and drink menu. Perhaps its most attractive feature that distinguishes it from similar restaurants is its very reasonable $2 corkage fee. Some items like the cedar plank salmon and bread pudding were excellent while the Caesar salad was pedestrian. The wait staff were good and worked very hard but they were overstretched and understaffed which diminished the dining experience waiting for things like opening the wine and brining the check.
Friday night and it was packed!!! A long wait for service and very noisy.
I would recommend for lengthy dining and little conversation. Food was terrific!!!
Always fantastic food & service! They never disappoint. They have certain dishes that are hard to find at most restaurants, such as Sweetbreads & escargot!
Wonderful soups and salads followed by overcooked Alaskan halibut served with an excellent sauce and accompaniments. I might have returned the dry fish to exchange for one not dried out but never saw the waiter until at least ten minutes after the entree wss served.
Most enjoyable evening. We drive from La Jolla for a special weekend and always visit
Cafe Bizou. Our server Lazar was outstanding!
One of or favorite restaurants in Old Town Pasadena. Halibut and salmon were delicious.
Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and responsive to our requests. The food was average at best and their bourbon selection from the bar was substandard for a nice restaurant.
We frequent Cafe Bizou. Good service and food. We ordered the monk fish and crispy potato crusted salmon. Enjoyed the food. They try hard to make sure everyone is happy with their selection. Unfortunately, the a/c was not working, so that was disappointing. I must say that this is the first time we've experience this, but when they called to confirm, they should have mentioned they had an issue.
I like the place. A little too dark though
Our favorite restaurant on Old Pasadena. We had the rack of lamb and the macadamia crust halibut. Delicious with great service.
WOW, WOW, WOW! Our meal was fantastic. The servers were very nice, but a little slow at times. I highly recommend the Beef Wellington as it was about the best I have ever had and the price Could not be beat. With a $2 corkage fee, you can bring your favorite wine.
The food was excellent. The service is usually outstanding, on this occasion it was adequate.
Good variety with something to please everyone. Attractively presented and delicious. Prices very reasonable. Pleasant decor.
We met some friends from Pasadena at the Cafe Biou. We were there early and sat at the bar. Our friends also came early and the restaurant sat us at our table early; nice quiet spot near the window. We brought our own wine ($2 corking charge). Great service, nice menu, and nice overall experience.
The food's great; the beer selection leaves a lot to be desired.
Food isn't as good as it used to be. Ambiance is still good, so if you just want to have drinks, then this place might do.
Slipping. Was our "go to" place. Food was good, but the service was terrible. 20 minutes to actually never getting an Espresso is merely one example. Really too bad.
The food just wasn't good.. sad.. as I love the location, the waiters.. and the location..
Good restaurant for personal or business dining occasions, with a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere/ambiance. Menu and wine list were varied. All items were reasonably priced.
great menus and Prix-Fixe selections that are great. They allow customers to bring their own wine for a mere $2.00 corkage fee.
We sat for 10 minutes before a waiter showed up. I requested a wine list. He dumped it on the table and disappeared for 15 minutes. The drinks were delivered in 15 minutes. Not a promising start.
The food except for the onion soup was very good. My party of 4 had salads plus plank salmon, shrimp/lobster risotto and beef stroganoff (2). It was well prepared and everyone was satisfied.
When I requested the check and a container for one of my guests, 10 minutes went by and I asked a busboy for the container. He brought it immediately. The check arrived without a thank you.
I hope it was a off night as my wife wants to return for the food.
