Café Bionda Ratings and Reviews
We stop to have dinner
We had the appetizer of fried zucchini and grilled calamari .
The oil from the grill calamari on the same plate tried to soak into the fried zucchini (duh).
The Milanese Eggplant salad was good and very good.
The Parmigiana eggplant was just ok.
The dessert was Gelato spumoni . The dessert on a scale of 1-10. It was a 5.
Overall the company and conversation with the person we ran into made the dinner more pleasant.
My daughter and I love this place. The food is authentic and delicious. Wait staff is knowledgeable with the menu and wine list Ambiance can be romantic for couples as well as perfect for family or friends. We’ve dined as two and also as a group It was very busy this past Friday and we got a table (for 2) within 40 min through opentable. We were seated upon arrival. Fun place, not a chain which is one reason it’s so special It’s our go to Italian.
Really unimpressed with the food. Stale bread, marinara sauce tasted like it was just tomato paste and the entrees were uninspired. Drinks were pricey - blah wine for $16 and weak pours on martinis. Our waiter was very nice and fun but that doesn't make up for a bad meal. Would never return.
The first time experience we had at Cafe Bionda was wonderful. Everyone was great! The customer service skills were exemplary and the food was divine! We loved it all. We will be back with family and friends. We made reservations for Brunch. Thank you to the Cafe Bionda Team. Keep up the excellent job!
My son was in town for a conference so was a good choice as it was close to his south Loop hotel. Moderately priced and the food was very good and authentic Italian. I had the Chicken Francese and Avacado wedge salad with the grilled calamari appetizer appetizer for the table. Was very yummy. Server was timely and the restaurant manager came to our table after the meal to make sure that we were happy (we were). Nice wine selection that was not too pricey and very nice. We will be back!
We are frequent visitors to Bionda, one of our neighborhood faves! While the food was amazing as usual, our food took almost 50 minutes (there was a good crowd, but it wasn't crazy)... And the noise level was very high... We will still return as we all have favorite meals to come back to!!!
As usual Cafe Bionda did not disappoint. The pasta with mussels is outstanding and I always bring some home. My friend had the stuffed ravioli and finished all of it - quite a feat. The wine and martinis were really good after a hard day of sight-seeing. This is a neighborhood restaurant for me and I feel so lucky.
Cafe Bionda is an excellent neighborhood restaurant. The food is always very good, and the staff is warm and welcoming. The outdoor area has been improved over the past couple of years, with plants serving as a barrier to State street traffic, but the traffic is not all that bad in any event. I like Cafe Bionda quite a bit.
