Cafe Bink Ratings and Reviews
Went on weeknight. Not very many patrons. Service was very slow. We were seated and greeted by waiter quickly, water and drinks ordered and served in appropriate time. It was at least another 15 minutes before our order was taken. Actually a table that was seated sometime after we were had there order tAken and were served long before we were. The food was not bad but nothing exceptional. It doesn't call us back.
Slowwwww service, food was less than bland. I ordered salmon it tasted like eating a stick of butter, my friends ordered fried chicken it was burnt and the mashed potatoes tasted old. The only good thing was the bread. So disappointed as heard binkley did a great job. Not at this location.
We weren't greeted for quite some time after seating. Very slow service. Food was not what server said. Only 2 servers for whole restaurant. Ordered an app and dinner and it took 2 hours. Then, to apologize they offer us complimentary dessert donuts and brought them out burnt. 3 out of 3 times disspointed. Will never return.
Great food; less formal options like sandwiches & gourmet mac & cheese along with more sophisticated fare like mussels and daily chef specials. Focus on local foods. Amazing french fries. The only thing I can't get used to is having other diners seated so close to me - the tables are so close together you have to slide them apart to pass through, and you have to work to not hear your neighbors. Not much privacy. Service is always great.
...and neither is Cafe Bink. The food is "normal" but specially touched by a 'Chef', rather than a 'cook'. My Moscow Mule was expertly made. The pulled mozzarella was beautifully prepared and tasty without the usual bar-scene deep fry/breading. Both the fried chicken and the eggplant were delicious and served in a timely manner. It's a small place but just the right size for our taste-we'll definitely be back.
I ordered the $14 green salad for lunch. For that price, I expected a decent portion. The salad was fresh, but heavily dressed. And I was shocked when served a dinner side salad portion. Mind you, there was no protein in this. There was also no bread served, which is ok if the salad was enough. Ridiculously priced. Shouldn't be more than $8 for what you get.
During a regular trip to The Boulders we had dinner at Binks Cafe a short drive away in Carefree, AZ. It is another of the Binkley family of fine restaurants in the Scottsdale/Carefree area that uniformly puts a big smile on your fave. Really good food but casual with lots of locals. Excellent service with a real down home feel. I had killer salmon while my wife really enjoyed her trout. The wines are noteworthy. Keep up the good work Binkleys!!
This was my first visit to this location and expected the same quality as the other Binks restaurants. I was not surprised in the least. Great food, great ambiance and Donna was stellar. This restaurant fits into the Carefree scene perfectly. I will go back as often as I am able.
Cafe Bink is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant, tucked into a small Carefree shopping mall. It is fun, casual, energetic, and the waitstaff is friendly and competent. Best of all, the food is consistently outstanding! I anxiously await the arrival of the Binkley Bakery next door to the Cave Creek property.
I have been to two Binkley's other restaurants and this is one I won't return to. It's restaurant week out in Scottsdale AZ so thought we'd try this one. Special menu was chintzy in the selections. I ended up with chicken, kale salad dessert & coffee--hardly worth the price. Others ordered the other appetizer and sand dabs for entree-mediocre at best. The coffee was delicious and plentiful. Service was TERRIBLE. sat outside and was a little chilly & had to ask twice for the heaters to be lit. If we didn't talk fast enough for the waiter he ran away to do something else & returned, resentful to answer questions. Not impressed and will not be back. It's worth was a $40 dinner which was over $80.
Outstanding food. The croquet madame was excellent. For an appetizer try the chili rell
eno. It had such a pleasant crispy exterior and the sunny-side up egg that sat on top of it set it apart from the usual chili relleno. The French fries, of all things, set themselves apart from any fries I have ever had. The exterior was very crispy, and the inside had this incredible melt-in-your-mouth quality that I have never experienced before when eating a French fry. When weather permits, be sure to dine on the outdoor patio, which provides a beautiful mountain view. I heard many favorable things about this place from co-workers and I wasn't disappointed during my recent visit. My only disappointment was that the trout meunier, which was very good, wasn't accompanied with a starch. I'll definitely return.
Our server was also very good.
Enjoyed Restaurant Week at Bink's. The menu selections were excellent and unusual.
Our group of four enjoyed the tempura squash blossoms and sand dabs. I was the only sand dab lover so asked the chef to do me proud in convincing the others how delicious they are. He more than succeeded! Thank you for a lovely evening!
This is a neighborhood favorite as the food is dependably good, the staff pleasant and the barkeeps know their stuff. The wine selection is nice too, not too much and yet, something for everyone.
A place that will become a regular stop when you are in Carefree.
Wonderful small restaurant in Carefree (which does not have too much to offer in terms of good restaurants). We sat outside which was great - it is on the main road but the view is lovely of the rocky hills. Waitress was thoughtful and great. I had the ribs (yummy) and friend had the quiche. Both were great. I'll be back! I'll always choose outside because it's so glorious!
We were promptly seated upon arrival and busboy poured us water. Waiter put down bread and olive oil. Pretty good stuff. Then we sat there for ten minutes totally unattended. The wait staff waited on other tables, brought out and served food, but mostly stood over by the outdoor service area and talked and laughed. We got up and walked out.
Such a disappointment! A good restaurant is consistent... I had dined at Cafe Bink a week earlier. I ordered the exact same meal as I had prior. NIGHT and DAY. Last week was a wonderful meal. Could not wait to share this find with my husband and best friends. This was a salty mess. French Onion soup tasted like kitchen bouquet and nothing else. The salad was not a $13.00 serving. Two at the table ordered Fried Chicken on the recommendation of the waiter who barely tolerated our presence.
The chicken was over salted and the mashed potatoes and gravy side was so salty that it couldn't be tolerated. Not impressive.
The food never disappoints. Our food was outstanding! However, on this trip, our server took 21 minutes to arrive at our table. Did not know what the vegetable special was even after we asked her to check. She knocked over a full glass of wine without as much as an apology. Furthermore, she did not even offer to get a clean rag to wipe off a purse in its wake. I assume she was in training or perhaps something terrible was going on in her personal life. Hope that she appreciated how easy going and generous we were with her.
I finally found out why I have been hearing raves about chef Binkley. The menu is perfect as well as the food. Service was also great. My wife and I were in the area and both wanted to check out Cafe Bink. We are glad we did. We had an appetizer dinner which was delicious along with the house red wine.
Great location neselled in the bolder rich landscape of cave creek. The menus is unique and well done. Our party had a wide variety if the menus items and all were exilent. Looking forward to returning and have three or so items in mind. Not to big as to create a conversation level that takes an effort. Wait staff works well with each other and stay ready for the next round.
Great to see Cafe Bink on Open Table, and made my 1st reservation this visit. Overall we were very happy patrons, having been away 4 months and looking forward to what we consider one our neighbourhood spots. Service by Bill was warm and attentive as usual, and the food delish. Must be the 10th time in a row my husband has had the Trout and it never disappoints. This time, I tried the Eggplant Parmigiana, which was outstanding. I do wish there was one other chicken choice besides Fried Chicken on the menu, but it's a small complaint. We'll return again and again to Cafe Bink, alone and with friends.
Note to other diners, be sure to request a patio table if you want to eat outdoors. I didn't, and have never done so when I made phone reservations. Luckily they were able to accomodate us, otherwise we would have turned away.
