Food was fantastic-very authentic Italian and service was good-friendly waiter. decor was a little dated, but nice nontheless. We did see a nasty bug on dividing wall by the table which was a little unnerving.
Generally okay but food did not seem freshly prepared.
Great service, great food—always a pleasure to dine at Cafe Baci.
Our first visit here and we weren't disappointed! We were given a small antipasto plate (on the house) to start with that contained blue cheese, olives, various sliced meats and a couple of lightly breaded and fried cheese balls. That was followed by a large basket of bread sticks and freshly baked onion focaccia and a dish of freshly chopped herb oil. Fantastic! I had the Veal Parmesean and it was delicious! Lots of cheese, tender thin pounded veal, and the red sauce was excellent! I had it topped off with lots of freshly grated parmesean. Instead of a side of pasta, I opted for some fresh green beans that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I just had to try the mini Cannoli's for dessert. Wow!!! Best I've had since moving to Florida two years ago. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with just the right amount of light. I can't wait to return! Bravo!!
This place is consistently good day in and day out.
On my list of very good restaurant overall. Food is good, prices are reasonable and has very nice overall appearance inside and out. Will continue to enjoy dinners there.
Great food and service. The food is always excellent.
Consistently, very good food and service. Good value= pleasurable dining experience. Entrees run$18-35 dollars and restaurant has a full bar and ample wine selection
We eat at Cafe Baci at least once a month and this was the slowest service we have ever had. It took us 90 minutes to get our meal.
Outstanding food, Harry provided great service. Definitely will go back!!
Café Baci is always a treat. We go for the fish, and this visit didn't disappoint. The grouper française was excellent.
Everything was good from beginning to end. Great talk with owner regarding his and the restaurants history. Will return.
Local Italian Restaurant, had never tried before. Online reviews were good so we thought we would "give it a try" and Cafe Baci lived up to it's reviews. The Mussels Posillipo were exceptional and the Red Snapper Baci was equally good. My wife had a very nice salad and veal picatta which she thoroughly enjoyed. Service was attentive and prompt but not "hovering." Nice meal and evening - we will be going back!!
Wonderful food . Excellent service
Good traditional Italian food in pleasant, rather quiet surroundings and professional wait staff.
A "must visit" each time we come to Florida. Michelle is an excellent server with the perfect blend of efficiency, friendliness and warmth. The veal dishes are exceptionally good. Pasta sides are large and tasty. Small Caesar just the right size. Drinks generous. If you are an Open Table diner enjoy a free antipasto plate and an after dinner Limoncello- you might have to ask for the Limoncello. Definitely a must try as far as we are concerned!
We had a family dinner to celebrate my nieces birthday and we had a great time. Food is great, they provide a complimentary charcuterie plate to start, good wine/drinks and also a complimentary desert for the birthday girl!! We had the veal parmigiana, chicken parmigiana, Fra Diavolo and fettuccine with shrimp. All our meals were great. I would recommend to family and friends and actually we dined here because others recommended to us.
AS always we were greeted and sat at the table we usually request, even though this time we did not mention it. The redfish is my favorite, but everything tastes good.
This place was amazing, the service from everyone was extraordinary. The food was delicious and they are very nice and attentive to their guests. Best meal I had on Sarasota.
It was a busy dinner time, but we were waited on right away. We sat by the wall with couples on either side of us. I don’t like to sit facing a wall or to sit so close to couples on either side of me. The couple on one side was very loud and annoying. This ihas been one of our favorite restaurants in the area so we will return in April when the snowbirds take flight to the north. The food has always been good, but I tried the mushroom ravioli and thought it was bland. There are plenty of good options on the menu.
food and service were exceptional - will definitely return
Absolutely Fabulous
Our 3rd visit...food and service were impeccable. Authentic Italian dishes, perfectly seasoned, generous portions and wide selection of reasonably priced wines.
We got an unexpected complimentary antipasto platter because we made reservations on line!
This place is a gem.
Lots of ambiance, good food, reasonable prices, what else could you ask for!
This establishment has a touch of class, well managed and they treat their customers well. We received a nice surprise due to the fact the dinner was booked through Open Table.
Wonderful Experience. Everyone goes above and beyond. Chef is talented. The food is delicious.
Our food was very good although not as hot as perhaps it should have been. It was a busy Thursday night and service was slow. Fortunately, several of us hadn't seen each other in a while so lots to talk about. I enjoyed the eggplant dish but husband's chicken parm was not hot at all. One friend ordered a salad and thought it rather small for the price. Overall, we had a good time and more than decent food.
this is where we go to get the best italian meal in the area. we are in venice but drive to Sarasota. we always tell new people about this restaurant and when we go with them they love it. A great for lunch also. Leo is a great asset to Cafe Baci.
Had fantastic service from Naomi and a delicious meal...once again!
Both the veal and chicken dishes were very tasty!
Service exceptional and was very good!
Waitress was very attentive A plus service!
Never have been disappointed with a meal at Cafe Baci
Had a great authentic Italian meal. Ingredients were very fresh and the sauces were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We have dined at Cafe Baci many times and each time we are very pleased with the food and the service. Actually, Cafe Baci is our favorite restaurant in the Sarasota area and our "go to" restaurant if we are meeting friends. Our recent visit was a group of six and we were easily able to carry on a conversation and enjoy our get together. The food was outstanding, as always....I had the chicken parm and along with the roasted potatoes and green beans, it was delicious! Other items on the menu area also favorites...the flounder francaise, the harvest salad, chicken marsala, etc. We plan on many more visits to Cafe Baci before heading north at the end of the season.
Outstanding and consistent food and service.
This definitely was the best Italian meal I have ever eaten! Excellant service and ambiance. Would recommend this place to be one of the first to dine at in Sarasota.
Always one of our go to places each time we come to Sarasota in March. Our dinner was wonderful. I had the flounder Francaise.. so very good. My husband had the Chicken cordon blue which was very good as well. Our waitress was lovely and the manager was wonderful. He visited our table many times and was just so enjoyable to talk with. See you next March. Thank you.
Clara was a very good waitress. We will request her table next visit
Birthday Event with friends in town. Everyone had a great meal!
This was strange - all of the tables around us received a little antipasta platter except us. It was our first time at this restaurant and it really made us feel excluded. NOT good P.R.
Excellent quality and value.
Had a nice early-bird plus dinner with some friends before an event. Both the early bird servings as well as the sides are amazingly generous in size, and tasty to boot. Service by Michelle was attentive, congenial and totally responsive. A good time was had by all.
Why not five stars? Because the hostess who seated us at 4:00 pm indicated that our preferred table was not available, because it was otherwise reserved yet it remained vacant the entire time we were there, plus the gnocchi, beloved by me, came drowning in marinara when a smidgen would have let the gnocchi shine.
