Cafe Baci Ratings and Reviews
Always a fantastic experience when we have dinner here! The food is amazing, I LOVE their homemade Marinara sauce, the special touches the servers give you and they do make you feel like a guest in their house! We go for special occasions since they are a drive for us, but the drive is worth it and this time it was date night with my husband! When the dinner was over I wanted to do it all over again because the food is THAT yummy!
We are frequent visitors to Cafe Baci for special occasions or just a good meal! We took out of town visitors this time and so enjoyed being able to have a good conversation along with a good meal. The waitstaff is competent and especially so when we are assigned Suzanne.
Cafe Baci is always reliable. Always crowded in season. The wait staff are most accommodating to special requests. Not cheap, you pay for every change, but we will continue to be loyal patrons as they are, overall, a good place for dinner and meeting friends.
I came here with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. Even though they did not take reservations and it was first come first serve, the wait was not long at all. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious authentic Italian with huge portions. One plate can serve two people. Our waiter was very nice, funny and attentive. They always make sure to fill your water glasses. I will definitely be going back soon!
Our second time at Cafe Baci. This time was Valentine’s Day and it was very nice. Crazily busy. Baci sachets are to die for, veal delicious and the Francais grouper excellent!! Terry Anderson, our asked for waitress is outstanding. Makes the meal even more wonderful. My 85 yr young mother loves this restaurant! Keep on being what you are known for. Fabulous!!
This is a great place for Italian cuisine. The food is delicious and the portions can be large. We had calamari and shared it. It is enough for four people, as an appetizer, so we took some home and reheated it the next day. It was still excellent. It is an amazing value.
we went with 2 other couples and one couple had never been there before. Everyone was delighted with their meal. The waiter was busy be we were in no hurry and a 7:15 reservation put us at a busy time. We had a great table all the way in the back and it was very quiet there. Waiter was great with us. food was perfect. I did have to ask for the anti pasta for the table that you get with open table. it was good to have it while waiting for the meal. A good time was had by all
When arriving for our reservation we asked for a table in the quietest area since our guests were hard of hearing and too much noise is painful. We were seated in the second room with two large groups talking loud and shouting. Asked waitress to politely mention this to manager and the table. No results. We ate fast and left immediately. On. the way out I told Roberto Mei the owner and he apologized but it was too late.
I hadn't been to Café Baci in several years but was happy to find it is still a great restaurant. The menu has a good selection of options (meat, seafood, vegetarian, pasta, etc.) and we all chose a different fish dish. Each of them was well prepared, delivered piping hot and delicious. Our server was attentive and lots of fun. This was a great choice for a pre-theater dinner. It will definitely be on my favorites list!
Sat in the back room. Not very comfortable or attractive. Our waiter lacked personality and was not very visible. This restaurant seems to have gone downhill as more new trendy places have opened. The lobster tail special is no longer available. This is a good place that needs a major makeover!
We like Baci's and use Open Table to get the appetizer platter and usually get in without much of a wait. The menu doesn't change. Good chicken dishes, nice pasta and veal. Veggies come with the meal but the salad and soup are alacarte. We felt a little rushed by the waitress. That's the only complaint I have. It WAS a Friday night however.
We had wanted to eat at O Mamma Mia in Sarasota, but were disappointed that it had closed several months ago. So we used TripAdvisor to find other Italian restaurants in Sarasota, and Café Baci got very high reviews. The restaurant looks "old", and could use a little sprucing up, but the food was absolutely outstanding. One of the best Osso Buco's I've ever had, and all other courses and our cocktail were all first rate. When we revisit Sarasota, this restaurant will be on our definitely-eat-here list.
Excellent, good quality food that met our expectations in every way.
We were very happy with our table location and service as well.
We love the bread that is served italian style with olive oil and other ingredients.
The veal was tender and delicious.
Excellent Tiramasu with great coffee to end the evening.
We've been to Cafe Baci a number of times for their early dining before the theater and enjoyed it. That's why we went back this time. However, it was definitely an off night. We, the first couple, showed up 15 minutes early, but were seated. Second couple showed up on time and were kept waiting until walk-ins were taken care of first. Then, it took another fifteen minutes to get our waiter. Since we were on a tight schedule, one woman in our party was ready to go to speak to the hostess, when the hostess came by with the antipasto plate (which is a nice courtesy the restaurant provides). When the waiter finally arrived, and we ordered their red and white wine specials, we were told they were out of the red and we should order off the wine menu. No offer to substitute another red for the same price. OK. He brought the white wine while we perused the red wine list. Apps and entrees were served. The ice bucket for the white arrived toward the end of the meal. Then Nicholos forgot that the desserts were served and came to ask for our dessert order. Clearly not a good night. Maybe they were short-handed, but a professional waiter would have responded better.
