Great reliable spot for when you are craving tapas. Always very consistent food and service. The only downer was the noise level was a bit much. Some sound absorbing panels might be a good idea. I wouldn't label it energetic, I would just call it too loud!
Despite making a reservation, they were 30 minutes behind to seat us. It seems like they knew this would be an issue, but never bothered to call me and let me know ahead of time. They then texted to tell me the table was ready, so we rushed to finish our drinks and pay our tab, only to arrive back at the restaurant to wait another 10 minutes to be seated. The food was great, but the beginning of our experience was very disappointing.
Ordered a wide variety of tapas, and all were amazing!! They also had a mango sangria that was phenomenal.
I love You guys!! Great food and service! Whenever I’m in the city I go their !
Food is good. The service wasn't good, we had to ask several times for more water and drinks. Could take more care about his guests.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant. Every time I’ve gone I’ve ended up with a food baby cause I can’t stop ordering more tapas. I also just tried the brunch and wowzas I’m in love with the brunch here too!! Everything that I’ve ever ordered I’ve loved. Also the House sangria is the bees knees
been coming here for over 20 years. you guys could have better desserts tho'. once upon a time your desserts were really good. now they're terrible.
Hanger steak and white sangria were our favorites!
It was an amazing experience and the food was delicious
It was great!
Never disappoints! Went on a Tuesday and had wine at 50% of the price. Excellent food as always.
More than anything, I loved the ambiance. We were fortunate to sit in the all seasons patio area and went for a date night on a Tuesday night. Sangria was great and bacon wrapped dates are a must. Service was good, but average and the server was slow to take our check. The chicken paella was a hit with me, but not for my partner. Nothing that is bringing me back when there are other places to try in Chicago.
Amazing service and incredible food! We ate 6 different things + dessert + drinks and were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the bill was. Highly recommend!
This was my first visit and I’d definitely go back. The food was flavorful and cooked perfectly. My server was attentive and compensating. The environment was comfortable. We sat for hours eating and drinking and never felt rushed to leave.
We went there as a group of 6 people. Each one of us visited this place before so we all knew how it works. We order a bunch of things to start after that we ordered two dishes for each one of us. We all got our food but one of our friends did not. So the server kept repeating that it is considered to be shared, which we know! But we wanted to make sure he knows we all order individual things. He never showed he cares about us. Our friend got his food at the very end when table was clean.
Always delicious and fun for brunch great Bloody Mary bar
Never disappoints! Every time I bring friends here, everybody leaves happy.
Paella was amazing! Would go back to try other dishes on the menu.
Our service was terrible. We waited and waited and had to keep asking out server to check on our order. At one point, a man with a blue tooth in his ear, not dressed as a server, brought us a dish. In the middle of things our server disappeared and a new one appeared that had no idea what we ordered. I like this place but the service was shockingly bad.
I love everything about this place. Food is amazing!
We have come here so many times and continue to love it every time. Service and food are amazing!
Love the food here! We were lucky to get a table around the bar area so we had way more leg room and were able to have a conversation since it can be pretty loud in here. The service was great and since we had an issue getting our table management gave us free dessert! That was such a nice touch on their behalf. Love it here. Will always come back.
Sangria is always a winner here. This time we went Cava Sangria, and while very refreshing, I'd stick to the traditional. Food is always good, and service is on top of it. It does get a little tight amongst the tables sometimes, that's one thing I would change if I could.
No since I’m leaving a bad review. Every place is not for everyone! Just not for me! Hope your experience is better.
Always great food and great service , and don't forget to order a pitcher of sangria.
Divorce party
Overall good food and ambience. Tapas are larger proportions than expected.
Heard my co worker talking about this place and loved to try tapas. Sunday brunch is a big deal for routine for my family every time i'm off on a week end. Parking can be a challenge in this area but I use the park whiz and it was fine, otherwise, this restaurant has a valet for $13. The restaurant is large enough to accommodate group of people but the seat is pretty much close to each other. The menu had choices for brunch but we choose to try tapas. The french toast and rib sandwich was a hit in my family but miss short stacked of pancakes. Seared salmon was just okay and if your into paella, order it early because it takes a while for them to make it. By the time our seafood paella came, we were already full but it was very tasty next day. The noise was vibrant but not loud and can still have conversation with your family without shouting at each other. Overall, i would recommend this restaurant.
Great food as always!
I absolutely loved it! I lived in Spain for a couple years, so I loved that they had some authentic tapas found in Spain. The food was delicious and it was a very cool place.
Excellent selection, value and ambiance! Will definitely come back and try more from the menu
Service was absolutely horrible. It was my birthday too. Our waitress was rude and forgetful. It took us forever to get our food, and when we did order it always seemed to be an issue/our waitress seemed very judgmental. My friend tried to order a birthday dessert and it took forever bc our waitress was dismissive of our table, but catered to the table next to us. Hugely disappointed in Cafe Baba Reeba as I’ve eaten here many times and it’s always been one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Not sure if I’ll be returning as I had a subpar birthday experience.
College reunion baby!
Amazing tapas and sangria! Tapas are portioned for 2 very hungry people. 3-4 tapas were more than enough! Max, our waiter, was attentive, friendly, kind and all-around awesome! Great meal!
the tapas and the sangria were amazing!I will definitely return often.
Great per usual
Bacon wrapped dates, brussel sprouts, scallops, and the spices potatoes are definitely mist-haves if you go here.
It was good
Easter brunch - excellent
Have been before for dinner, but went for brunch this time- I definitely recommend it as a unique brunch spot. The Citrus French Toast was fantastic, as was the bacon Mac n cheese dish. There’s a Bloody Mary bar, as well!
