What Insiders Are Saying
Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba is a tapas restaurant that's been around for a long time. It's ideal for a lot of occasions.
Excellent service and yummy food!
I loved my experience here! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the great weather and there being not a lot of noise!
Fun atmosphere. Great tacos and delicious guacamole. Margaritas were awesome!
fav restaurant! Always so amazjng
The service was very timly, especially considering how packed the restaurant was. The peach sangria was enjoyable and the chicken empanada was our favorite.
Dinner with another couple before a concert. Great time and delicious food!
Had a very enjoyable brunch. Since it was fairly busy, we didn’t not receive the most attentive service but the meal was great and super enjoyable.
Tim was a wonderful server!! I brought my family for their first time and they loved everything!! Ba-ba-reeba was the perfect choice.
This was our first time here and the food was excellent. I wasn’t crazy about the brussel sprout salad, which I felt didn’t quite fit in with the rest of the menu. I also didn’t care for the flan dessert, which was cinnamon. The service was great and the price was so reasonable. I will definitely go back there again.
Good for friends' get-together instead of dating. Portion size small. Food very good. The potato-related things are good. All seafood choices are good. Good service - except a staff member who is responsible for filling water always (9 out of 10 times) pours everywhere - on food, table, etc.
Chicken paella was very good.
Seafood paella was overlooked.
I always enjoy dining at CBBR, however the last 2 times that I have dined there, I was the lucky guest who found a hair in my food. One of the times I pulled it out of my mouth which isn't cool. The other time I caught it before I ate it, but others in my party ate off the same piece.
Great brunch birthday celebration!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent
Cafe Ba B Reba is always one of our go-to favorites. We were super excited when we got a reservation at a decent time! We highly recommend this restaurant!
Wonderful food and sangria. The two times I have been there I have never been disappointed. It is on the pricier side but all the food items are well executed.
Such good brunch loved the Cubano
My husband and I been here more times than I can count. Cafe ba ba Reeba is my go to place when I want to show my out of town guest a taste of Chicago’s greatness. The food was perfect and consistent as usual...you must order gambas con ajo, tenderloin blue cheese and chips, sausage platter (best morcilla around!), grilled octopus, papas bravas, pan con tomate. Wash it down with a cold Estrella and some sangria! Mmm mmm mmm. I’m am actually drooling a little as I write this!
Our service was excellent due to the service and interactions with Manuel who was our busser. He was so attentive, kind, and joyful which showed our out of town guests the Midwestern hospitality and care that makes our city special.
I have spent months abroad in Barcelona and come here to get my fix of the dishes I recommended above. In fact, one time a group of us drove 45 minutes in the middle of a blizzard to eat here. Make a reservation and go! Buen provecho!!!
I will be back
Best sangria !
I always like going here when it isn’t crazy busy. The food is great but depends importantly on your choices. The bacon-wrapped figs are outstanding. Good when you visitors. Everybody likes tapas!
Very nice all around. Great food!
This place is high on my priority list NEVER fails to please
Love this place. We are never disappointed
The brunch menu was SO good, with lots of different sweet and savory options! Loved the Bloody Mary bar too, but I wish there was an option for bottomless!!
We enjoyed dinning there. But it is a bit hard to have a conversation cause everyone is so loud.
We think it's over rated. The tapas were very good, and very expensive. One half of a egg was $2.50 so if each you get 1/2 egg each it's $5.00. Bacon wrapped medjool dates were good, and cost a little more than $1.00 per date. We ordered the mango sangria, and there are were no mangos in it, not even as a garnish, only lemons and apples. Good , but not great. A pitcher is $30.00.
The specialty is paella. We had the seafood one. There's suppose to be monk fish in it, but the pieces are teeny tiny. I guess we were expecting to actually see the monk fish, which we have had in the past at much better restaurants. Same for the tiny clams, I actually had several that were just empty shells . We've had paella in Spanish restaurants both here and in Spain, this falls very short. Also, we never had it scooped out to us onto tiny plates before, it's always served in the skillet that its prepared in.I would not recommend it.
And as for the dessert. My husband had the custard, tasted very good, but only got a shot glass portion, about a teaspoon full for $3.50.
we will never be back. So many better restaurants than this one was.
Somewhat disappointed this time -- some of the choices were not that great or did not "come out" like they usually do. All in all, okay meal.
I decided to go based on a couple friends telling me about this place. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday brunch and mango sangria!! The eggplant was amazing - even my meat eating family loved it. The Paella was delish. Will definitely be back. I've heard Happy Hour is great too!!
Waiter was horrible....kept walking away from table when we were talking to HIM! Plain & Simple Bad!! Im sure you get tons of complaints about him. Don't even know his name because he never gave us the time of day! Our busboy was awesome!
Love this place so much. Food is authentic and yummy. It is a great place to go for any ocassion. Would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.
Loved everything: the ambiance, the service and the food. I highly recommend.
I have been a Fan of Ba Ba Reeba since it open. Great place, great neighborhood, just plan fun. Something for everyone.
Great food great service!
Always love this place! Great sangria and great atmosphere for a casual special occasion!
Love their sangria!
Love the ambiance, the food, the sangria, the service! Everything was great!
The food was pretty good, but I would say it's average for Chicago standards. The Sangria was good, and my experience overall would be rated as "good", but for how much hype I hear about this place, I'm not sure it's worth it. I wouldn't travel out of my way to try it. Sorry!
Everything was delicious as always, and our server was so wonderful and attentive.
