What Insiders Are Saying
Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba is a tapas restaurant that's been around for a long time. It's ideal for a lot of occasions.
Great place! Not only was the food great, but it was very reasonably priced and the staff was incredibly attentive. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic food! Delicious flavors! Great service and great ambiance. The place is big and was lively even on a Sunday night when we went. Will be back for sure!!
Food is amazing! I’ve been coming here for years but haven’t had a chance as much recently since moving further away, but it is worth the drive.
By far my favorite restaurant in Chicago! Great food, great sangria, and great prices!
The patatas bravas and goat cheese dishes were so tasty. The meatballs, chicken empanadas and shrimp paella were ok. The red and white sangrias were sweet. Our waiter was so attentive.
Always delicious, always great service.
Awesome spot for birthday brunch - we loved the Bloody Mary bar, food was delicious and we had an awesome server. Highly recommended!
First time back in 5 years and the food was just as amazing as we remembered it. Loved ordering a number of different but small dishes to share. The short rib was delectable, the garlic potatoes potent but delish and the meatballs were tasty. My only regret is I couldn't eat any more, stuffed!
Valentines date night!
Great food with tons of flavor! You won’t regret it! Make reservations to have a guaranteed seat! They do weddings too!
Our favorite go-to spot!
Always great food and great service!
Excellent place for food and drinks! One of the best if not the best one so far, in Chicago for Spanish Tapas.
It was a very nice dinner among friends. The tapas are great. Very flavorful and served hot and quick from the kitchen. The service was a little slow from the order taker and had to chase her down to get the check. This is a lively place and loud conversations. We were there for fun so it wasn’t an issue.
Great food and great place!
We went on 2/15 to celebrate Valentines Day. The food came out at strange intervals and not 1 item came out hot. Luke warm at best. Flavors were delicious ok, nothing special.
We were at Cafe Ba-ba for valentine's. The service was good, but the food did not meet our expectations. The lam order was good, but the side salad that came with it had something that looked like a nail that belonged to the person who was cutting that salad. We informed the server and she took it off our tap.
I was hoping a manager could have looked into this to avoid having this happen to other people in the future.
The food was great but the hostess was extremely rude. They accepted a 10 pm reservation and when we got there the door was locked. We and a bunch of other couples who had a 10 pm reservation had to wait outside and knock on the door a few times to get the attention of the hostess. She then proceeded to yell at all of us for coming late inspite of them calling and asking to come by 9:45 (none of us got any such calls btw). She said “for this one time..”, she would seat us but going forward if we come after the doors are locked, they would not allow us in.
This was the start of our valentines day dinner. The food and the service staff were great though. We may come back in the future for the food
Waited over a half hour with a reservation, comp'd us desserts for it, server okay, typical low key restaurant, bar service sucks, otherwise nothing to complain about besides the wait.
Hands down the best server I have ever had. She was so nice and had great suggestions. It was my husband's first time at the restaurant and he loved it. Thank you so much for making our Valentine's Day so wonderful! We will certainly be back and hope to see the same server again!
Valentine’s Day dinner
Always great to go to Cafe Ba Ba Reeba :)
Fabulous as always!!
Unfortunately we had a snake of a waiter assigned to us. We came in for happy hour just in time and he was trying to restrict us from getting an additional pitcher of sangria, and gave us the most expensive wine choices when we asked for recommendations. Otherwise, one of my favorite places and food is delicious.
My favorite spot to go to.
We enjoyed the food and atmosphere very much. Service was friendly, helpful and efficient.
The food was very delicious. We will return.
We've been here many times. Favorite restaurant in Chicago.
Get the Paella and the Octopus. Cut up the octopus, mix it with the Paella. Also, get the sangria.
Our server was great and everything tasted really good!
Fun place to enjoy tapas! Great sangria! The recommended items on the menu were wonderful! We were there on a Sunday night 6 pm so wasn’t noisy. We will return
Great overall experience. Food was perfect, will be back again.
Amazing food. Always difficult to find a well rounded gluten free menu but this place does it. Drinks were just as good.
Will definitely be back. Only downside; so good it’s always busy and super packed. Making a reservation is the way to go especially on the weekends.
Our server was very nice and the food was excellent. Pretty decent value considering how much we ordered!
The hostesses were beyond kind in helping us. We knew we'd be a little late for our Open Table time slot because we were coming after a play, so we stopped in before, and a hostess added 15 minutes.
The play ended a little late, so we were a little late, but were seated right away. I thanked the hostess on our way out, and she so very gracious.
Our server was excellent also.
I would have liked the order of our food served slightly differently, but it was really tasty!
Food just ok tasting in comparison to other. Tapas restaurants
Great food as always!!
Everyone was very accommodating because we had two more extra guests than expected
