Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba is a tapas restaurant that's been around for a long time. It's ideal for a lot of occasions.
Hanger steak and white sangria were our favorites!
More than anything, I loved the ambiance. We were fortunate to sit in the all seasons patio area and went for a date night on a Tuesday night. Sangria was great and bacon wrapped dates are a must. Service was good, but average and the server was slow to take our check. The chicken paella was a hit with me, but not for my partner. Nothing that is bringing me back when there are other places to try in Chicago.
Amazing service and incredible food! We ate 6 different things + dessert + drinks and were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the bill was. Highly recommend!
Always delicious and fun for brunch great Bloody Mary bar
Never disappoints! Every time I bring friends here, everybody leaves happy.
Paella was amazing! Would go back to try other dishes on the menu.
Our service was terrible. We waited and waited and had to keep asking out server to check on our order. At one point, a man with a blue tooth in his ear, not dressed as a server, brought us a dish. In the middle of things our server disappeared and a new one appeared that had no idea what we ordered. I like this place but the service was shockingly bad.
I love everything about this place. Food is amazing!
We have come here so many times and continue to love it every time. Service and food are amazing!
Love the food here! We were lucky to get a table around the bar area so we had way more leg room and were able to have a conversation since it can be pretty loud in here. The service was great and since we had an issue getting our table management gave us free dessert! That was such a nice touch on their behalf. Love it here. Will always come back.
Sangria is always a winner here. This time we went Cava Sangria, and while very refreshing, I'd stick to the traditional. Food is always good, and service is on top of it. It does get a little tight amongst the tables sometimes, that's one thing I would change if I could.
No since I’m leaving a bad review. Every place is not for everyone! Just not for me! Hope your experience is better.
Always great food and great service , and don't forget to order a pitcher of sangria.
Overall good food and ambience. Tapas are larger proportions than expected.
Heard my co worker talking about this place and loved to try tapas. Sunday brunch is a big deal for routine for my family every time i'm off on a week end. Parking can be a challenge in this area but I use the park whiz and it was fine, otherwise, this restaurant has a valet for $13. The restaurant is large enough to accommodate group of people but the seat is pretty much close to each other. The menu had choices for brunch but we choose to try tapas. The french toast and rib sandwich was a hit in my family but miss short stacked of pancakes. Seared salmon was just okay and if your into paella, order it early because it takes a while for them to make it. By the time our seafood paella came, we were already full but it was very tasty next day. The noise was vibrant but not loud and can still have conversation with your family without shouting at each other. Overall, i would recommend this restaurant.
I absolutely loved it! I lived in Spain for a couple years, so I loved that they had some authentic tapas found in Spain. The food was delicious and it was a very cool place.
Excellent selection, value and ambiance! Will definitely come back and try more from the menu
Service was absolutely horrible. It was my birthday too. Our waitress was rude and forgetful. It took us forever to get our food, and when we did order it always seemed to be an issue/our waitress seemed very judgmental. My friend tried to order a birthday dessert and it took forever bc our waitress was dismissive of our table, but catered to the table next to us. Hugely disappointed in Cafe Baba Reeba as I’ve eaten here many times and it’s always been one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Not sure if I’ll be returning as I had a subpar birthday experience.
College reunion baby!
Amazing tapas and sangria! Tapas are portioned for 2 very hungry people. 3-4 tapas were more than enough! Max, our waiter, was attentive, friendly, kind and all-around awesome! Great meal!
the tapas and the sangria were amazing!I will definitely return often.
Great per usual
Bacon wrapped dates, brussel sprouts, scallops, and the spices potatoes are definitely mist-haves if you go here.
It was good
Easter brunch - excellent
Have been before for dinner, but went for brunch this time- I definitely recommend it as a unique brunch spot. The Citrus French Toast was fantastic, as was the bacon Mac n cheese dish. There’s a Bloody Mary bar, as well!
Love Cafe Ba-ba-reeba! Every time I come here I leave happy and full, the food and service is always excellent, one of the restaurants I always recommend to friends.
Very good, we will forsure come back. Lots of things we didn’t get to try.
My husband and I came with our two young children for a weeknight dinner while visiting the area for spring break. This was a great experience for all; the food and drink was delicious and there was something for everyone - even my picky two year old left with a full belly. The ambiance was warm with lively conversation such that we didn’t worry about other tables even noticing if our kids had a fit of some sort as they sometimes do. They have kids menu options, activity packs, kid cups with lids. It was great to be able to enjoy a quality meal and drinks as a family.
Grilled octpus was amazing!! I will definitely visit again soon. One of the best restaurant for friends' get- together in Chicago.
Great food in a fun atmosphere. The selections are all so fresh and flavorful. The hardest part is narrowing down to a few dishes to try. I was here five years ago on a business trip and this week everything was as good as I remembered.
Everything was perfect. We had a great time.
We've been coming here for 20+ years. Great Tapas and sangria! Needs cleaner updated decor though.
The tapes were good and came quickly. Our server was very attentive and nice.
One of my favorites! Great food, excellent service, and pleasant atmosphere!
It was our 30th anniversary so we were a bit dismayed by the crowds and noise level when we arrived and realized most people in the restaurant weren't even born thirty years ago. Bad choice? But everything ran like clockwork. Our reservation was for 8:30 and we were seated at 8:31. Cocktails and first tapas came promptly, the wine arrived just ahead of the entree, and any need we had was addressed promptly. It's just too loud to be romantic, but thankfully they stuck us in a corner where the walls on either side of us enabled conversation. On Saturday nights on Chicago you can often wait long past your reservation to sit down and your meal may take hours to arrive, so we give Ba-Ba-Reeba high marks for their tight ship.
Good food, “amazing” peach sangria, with an energetic vibe!
Very good tapas. Have been here a few times over the years. Seafood paella flavorful but VERY salty (waiter claims it's the cooking process?). Excellent grilled octopus and sangria!
Our waiter was so incredibly nice. He was very observant of my tree nut allergy. And the rest of the staff was so welcoming. It was a little cold in there though. But my boyfriend and I will always come back. It’s one of our favorite places
