We had a great time celebrating my birthday. We started with a dozen raw oysters, very good. My wife had the grilled swordfish special while I had the hanger steak. Both meals were excellent. We finished with the birthday desert lagniappe, doberge cake.
We always have a great time at Café B!

Solid all around. Waiter—David?—was knowledgeable and attentive without being annoying or phony. Everything we ate was good.

Decent value for a Brennan eatery and food was very good, service was good and would go back. Everyone now is featuring brussell sprouts and they were fine. Didn't much care for the fries though, they were greasy. Overall it was pretty good, and it's in the neighborhood.

We love Café B and ate here two days in a row this week, once with another couple and again with four relatives for our annual Christmas luncheon. The food was outstanding as usual, and our waiter Frankie made the meal a pleasure.

Food was okay... nothing to write home about. Had the grilled fish... hated the mushrooms. My niece had a burger. She said the burger was unseasoned but the sauce was good. Service was okay, nothing extraordinary. Really just a okay experience.

Sat down for 5:45, they quickly brought water then disappeared for 15 min. Came to ask us what we wanted to drink at 6:00. I said I wanted a happy hour drink and she quickly told me it just ended at 6:00. When I told her we had been sitting for 15 min and were waiting to order for a while and it wasn’t our fault she took her time, all she said was sorry. Really was upsetting since the same drink we wanted for $5 now cost us $14 x’s 3. This was a total downer for the rest of the meal. Can’t stand slow waiters to begin with but when it cost us money ......

My business colleagues have eaten here before and thought it had been better. The service was very good, attentive and not pushy. The Turtle Soup (first time!) was a bit bitter for me but ok, crab cakes were good, shrimp app was good (esp for bread dipping), the fish was very good (can't recall which we ordered), and we also shared fried oysters (good but I've had better at sushi restaurant). Perhaps it was a slightly off night for kitchen but no complaints.

There were a lot of tables with children. Some were fighting with adults clanging the silverware together.
I made a reservation for 2 and when I arrived my friend was already there so I could not ask for a different table. Our table was against a wall and in a walkway. Everytime our waitress passed behind my chair she had to push me in more to get by. I am trying to eat. I don’t need the waitstaff bumping me.
When I make a reservation I expect to be given the best available table not the worst.
The food was good but there are places with much better food.

I wanted to treat my granddaughter to a special breakfast before she returned home. I had just had surgery and she had come to help me. So, I thought brunch at Cafe B would be perfect. After all, it's a Brennan restaurant. What could be better? Right?
Well, they sat us in a corner, it wasn't the least bit crowded and I had a reservation just in case. But, okay. We did want to talk.
My appetite was still a bit down so I just ordered a pancake and eggs. Imagine my surprise when I got a pancake with burned greasy meat bits all over and stinking to high heaven. It had been cooked on an uncleaned grill! Uncleaned from the night before! How could the lady who delivered it not have noticed!?? She actually expected me to eat it!?!
I sent it back and this time it came out even worse. Can you believe! Same grill, burned, stinking and RAW. They hadn't even considered cleaning up the grill. Just slapped some more pancake mix on the same too hot, filthy grill! I was to eat that???? What other equipment wasn't cleaned???? I sent it back. How could you even deliver that to the table??
The Manager came out and said that they were cleaning the equipment (you think!) and they would give me some biscuits. Really.
We causciously ate some of the rest of our breakfast, paid and left. Praying we wouldn't be ill. I apologized to my granddaughter and promised to never go back again. She was horrified!!
So, no. I will not be going back. Or recommending it. Please check your food carefully.
Hopefully, the Chef was notified and will make sure that the kitchen is CLEANED before anyone goes home.

I love cafe b usually. Brought my friends here to impress and everyone was disappointed. We had the filet mignon and they were overcooked and tasteless. Best thing was the onion ring appetizer.

Excellent smoked salmon appetizer, served brochetta style with arugula. Turtle soup was not the traditional New Orleans style and would not order it again. It needed to be heated more, although it was served in a handsome cast iron and enamel crock. The filet mignon was delivered well done instead of medium, but calling it to the waiter, it was removed and a second steak was delivered perfectly cooked. The maître 'd later visited the table, showing a real interest in customer service. It was a birthday visit and overall a lovely evening.

We preferred the four top table in the center of the main dining room facing the windows for future visits. We preferred it to the oyster room. My cauliflower soup was mushy and mediocre.
