Cafe B Ratings and Reviews
Excellent smoked salmon appetizer, served brochetta style with arugula. Turtle soup was not the traditional New Orleans style and would not order it again. It needed to be heated more, although it was served in a handsome cast iron and enamel crock. The filet mignon was delivered well done instead of medium, but calling it to the waiter, it was removed and a second steak was delivered perfectly cooked. The maître 'd later visited the table, showing a real interest in customer service. It was a birthday visit and overall a lovely evening.
The special soup (oyster Rockefeller) did not have any oyster in it or if there were, they were very small bits and it was very salty. The other meal that was served was cold. It was poached eggs with hollendaise sauce on focaccia bread that was3 inches thick. Very unappealing and grotesque instead of delicate and lovely like you would expect such a dish to be presented. Dud I mention it was cold?
Such a great find. I was looking for a restaurant as I was leaving the airport. The food is great, all the waitstaff are so knowledgeable and will recommend things you never thought to try. I had oysters for the first time based on a recommendation and they were delicious!
I had the grilled artichoke dip (loved the bread with it) and the sautéed black drum topped with shrimp bordelaise (AMAZING). The lemon butter on the fish with shrimp, crispy Brabant potatoes, and garlic sautéed kale was the best lunch I have had in a long time. It was light but filling and I had some leftover fish to bring home. It was a birthday lunch my coworkers treated me to and the hostess gifted me a $25 gift card for future meals there and Lemon Doberge dessert that was delicious.
First visit to this very lovely restaurant on Metairie Road. Our servers, Gabby and Sara, were two lovely young ladies who saw to our every need. Food was delicious - flash fried oysters, fried eggplant sticks, grilled romaine/crab salad, butternut squash soup (excellent!) and shrimp remoulade. Dessert of 1/2 lemon and 1/2 chocolate doberge was superb. All in all a lovely evening in a restaurant I would highly recommend
Sunday brunch on August 27. Had reservation but place was crowded and had plenty of kids. Chose to eat at the bar. Bartender/server Andrew was great. Good drinks and drink fixing recommendations. Crabcake & eggs, gumbo and crab au gratin appetizer were great. Peach pie desert finished off the great meal. Had mixed experience here in the past. This brunch will probably get us to try dinner again. Metairie continues to be not an easy place to find a combination of nice atmosphere and good food. Cafe B, at the right time, could change that for us.
