I had wanted to go to this restaurant for some time and had seen good reviews. I was disappointed.
I ordered the lamb for dinner. The meal came out looking lovely but the lamb was the driest, stringiest piece of meat I have ever had. It looked and tasted as if it had been made several days ago and reheated several times in a microwave.
I will not be going back. The lone exception was the service. The waitstaff was very nice, attentive and efficient.
Absolutely delicious . Great craft cocktails and delicious and well presented dishes.
Great food, friendly atmosphere
Overpriced, very small portions that are more art and science than food. Food is visually pretty and interesting, but not that tasty.
Unbelievable. By far the most incredible culinary and dining experience I’ve had all year. Kudos to both the executive chef and the pastry chef for their imaginative cuisine. Thank you for providing us with such a unique dining experience!
Went here for Mother’s Day special and everyone in my party was super impressed - with everything! The service was patient and thorough; the food was delicious though a little pricey (an extra basket of starter pastries was $10); the cocktails were quite tasty; the ambiance was beautiful, making the rainy day way more palatable.
Food really tasted aweful and even though presentation is nice spending 120$ in a bad meal not worth it
Waiter didn’t know what vegetarian is kept giving to my son dishes that had fish octopus
Extraordinarily fine cuisine served with care and special attention. The craft cocktails menu was very creative, with something new and different for any discriminating palate. Seasonal ingredients perfectly prepared in appropriate portion sizes. A must visit in Cambridge.
Very nice space and the concept, but food was quite disappointing. I am willing to give them another try though
To be completely honest, the experience left me confused; I am not able to say if I liked it or not... The restaurant is a beautiful modern space, calm, and you will find the service very friendly and attentive if you need some help... About the food, I liked my four courses menu, except for the foie gras pancake which is uninteresting for my taste and too pricey for what it is...
But I possibly need to understand the chef cooking concept and personally, I‘ll return another time at this place, (maybe with the menu still on the table all along the experience this time), to make my opinion more clear... One sure thing: it challenges me!
I thought the food lacked flavor. Beautifully presented but left disappointed.
The house cocktails are uniformly excellent, all fresh variations on classic cocktail themes, playful and with savoring. Attentive and friendly staff. The meal was sadly hit or miss, with some dishes confounding expectations without a corresponding payoff or main ingredients feeling water or ignored alongside very appealing accompaniments. Some interesting ideas but it never came together as a coherent meal, but also not a small plate or tasting menu.
From a previous experience my recommendation would be to enjoy the cocktails and more straight forward bar menu.
Only complaint was that we were too full at the end. SO GOOD!!! Thank you! We will be back next week table of 10.
The food and ambience were excellent, but the quality of service left much to be desired. While the staff was pleasant they seemed stretched and were MIA for long stretches. Perhaps they were understaffed that day. Drinks took forever to get to us...having been there in the past, I hope this is an anomaly
It was a mother-daughter night out and we had a wonderful time.
The service was impeccable.
The food menu was quite a departure from American foods. Love their menus! So very artistically done especially the cocktails named after animals.
We loved and enjoyed all the courses we ordered: Jonah Crab Day Boat Scallops and Quail & Halibut. And, the desserts: Scotch and Birch and Grapefruit Entremét were divine!
The check was quite a bit more than we were used to. Clearly. Yet, it was worth it for both of us. We'll definitely return for more! Hopefully soon.
Great food, went with a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their dishes. We had wonderful service! And fun drinks! Will definitely go back!
Cafe Artscience is awesome. Great food & drinks and the service was excellent.
The Day Boat Scallops were delicious! Cafe Artscience brings a wonderful definition to the future of food.
Amazing cocktails. Awesome space. Good food. Great cheese.
Thoroughly enjoyed the meal -- from cocktails through to the desert. A bit higher price than anticipated but a very worthwhile experience. Give it a shot!
Food was outstanding. Everything we were hoping for. Glad there was a vegetarian tasting menu!
Soecial lunch place when I want to test myself. 4th visit. Consistently good.
This is an interesting place. great space and good service. The menu is small and unusual but everyone enjoyed the meal a great deal.
Cocktails were awesome. Service was slow even though the restaurant was pretty empty and my pasta didn’t have any flavor
Very impressed by the presentation and thoughtfulness of the menu. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back
The food is great. The only thing that it is a bit noisy due to lack of insulation which makes a quite conversation hard. I was there on a quiet evening, but assume when the restaurant is full that it will be very loud.
The menu and food is fantastic, as well as the service.
I had an exceptional business dinner. The food is simply fantastic, but you need to realize that because of the high-tech science-based cooking techniques they use, the food is often unrecognizable visually. Everything we had was exceptional. Pricing is relatively high.
Excellent. Very cool decor. Most interesting cocktail list I've seen in a long time. Founded by an MIT professor who brings a scientific approach to his cuisine and cocktails. Some interesting/fun approaches to some of the dishes (ask the waiter about which dishes provide these kind of surprises).
It was a wonderful experience. Food and atmosphere was unique. The service was amazing. The drink menu alone will bring me back.
Interesting and Good food. Excellent service.
Honestly confused about what this place was. Friendly staff, strange decor, aesthetically off, menu was misleading!!! :((((
We had a dinner with a couple of friends on Saturday night. Restaurant was more than half empty. Service was great but we were very disappointed with our food. Octopus salad was cold and looked like it’s been prepared in advance. It’s was tons of finger potatoes in there but very little octopus. Also it’s was salty. The Foie gras dish cost $22 and looked like a joke. We all agreed that main dishes wasn’t bad but a bit too salty. We spent $480 for 4 people. Drinks were cool and tasty but food wasn’t worth it. None of us will be back and will recommend this place to anyone.
I primarily chose this restaurant for the Tagliolini with truffles. However, I really enjoyed the art as well as the great cocktails and good whiskey selection. The four course meal service was excellent, I was never rushed through a course, but also never had to wait long between courses. The Jonah Crab first course melted in my mouth. The Tagliolini did not disappoint. My prime rib was cooked perfectly and was complemented well by the onions (and other alliums). I requested some shavings of the black truffle onto my steak and they accommodated me at a reasonable price.
As for cocktails, I started with a Vieux Carre that was magnificently blended. I tried their Amur Tiger, which was a great variation on a Boulevardier. They had a vaporizer of cinnamon to add a smell before you took a sip, which really added a nice touch to the Manhattan I ordered (but did not mix well with the orange garnish of the Tiger). A tasty Cab Sauv with the steak was a fine pairing. They had some good desert wines, although the Port selection was limited (but the port I bought went well with the dark chocolate and almond tart I had for desert).
Great service, great atmosphere, great food and drink. I recommend.
Artistic food preparation. Delicious flavor combinations. Perfect portion sizes. Well thought out wine list and cocktail menu. Modern yet comfortable setting. Attentive staff.
First of all, the waitstaff was excellent. Friendly and efficient. The artwork was interesting. We had rhe sea urchin panna cotta. It was one of the best things I had ever eaten. We then shared the sweetbreads and the fois gras. Both were outstanding. Then came the ribeye. It was cooked perfectly, but was a little bland and tough and needed seasoning. The dessert was ok but did not live up to the rest if the meal. It was quite exensive.
Excellent cuisine on gastronomic side, interesting design and location, prices demand this to be a special occasion rather than your average Friday night outing.
Very modern vibe down to the techno music. Food is clearly exquisitely prepared. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the flavors. Pricey. Portions are on smaller side (artsy quality vs quantity) so you have to be prepared to do a pretty penny.
