Cafe Amarcord Ratings and Reviews
It was a good experience. Some menu items could have been explained better, It was a little confusing when the app and salad came out together and the app being smoked trout in a salad. My thoughts are that the waitress could have explained that since you had to order everything at the same time. Just as a courtesy. One salad could have been skipped ! The steak and lamb was cooked medium rather then medium rear but the flavor was so good that we didn't mind at all. It was pretty noisy but seems every place you go is like that anymore. The service was excellent and we will definitely return.
It was a fabulous experience! All around. It was my first time and I would go back soon and strongly recommend to others. Everything was delicious , from appetizers to desserts and cappuccino ! The service, excellent as well! There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed everything !
Accommodating and attentive staff, tasty food arrived in very good time, good wine list.
The deserts were creative and the presentation was outstanding. Though a good value, a bit pricey. The restaurant has a convenient parking lot reachable from the side street.
Amarcord is a solid choice for eating out in Beacon.
We were new to the area having just visited Dia:Beacon. Found Amacord on Open Table. Menu very appealing and creative. Scottish smoked salmon on asparagus appetizer delicious as well as entrees. Fettuccini Bolognese sauce was just the right consistency; Chicken Pailliard drizzled with truffle oil on arugula topping with shitake mushrooms was a wonderful combination of flavors. Good value for good food; attentive service. Will return.
Our group of seven were here for a special occasion. We ordered salads and calamari to start--all very good. We had the yellowfin tuna with caponata (cooked perfectly to order), the shellfish stew, fettucine and short ribs, and a pasta special. All these entrees were delicious. Service is pleasant and professional. We definitely recommend Cafe Amarcord and will make plans to dine here again.
Although we were disappointed because our table was in the front room with the bar and the TVs, the meal helped to overcome our disappointment. The service was also good which made a positive difference in our dining experience; the hostess went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. We ordered the pork cop and the branzino, both of which were very good. Also, we chose the Super Tuscan wine which was extremely good. Looking forward to a return visit, but will definitely request a table in the back room.
Fabulous meal for a 60th birthday celebration. Knowledgeable staff (Zach! with Karissa learning); glad for the specials (menu looked great, but welcomed having additional choices). Inventive dishes--cheese/persimmon appetizer, great dressing on fresh greens; FABULOUS pasta second dish (focchiette with pear/cheese in browned butter): this was the dish of the night! Entrees v. good, but ribeye a bit fatty (more than customary) and huge portion; branzino-wrapped shrimp sounded better than outcome, with shrimp a bit overcooked, branzino skin not as crispy as could've been, and fennel slaw tasted fishy; odd. Lovely wine, presentation, romantic. Definitely worth a return!
Amazing meal which included locally sourced walnut and pear salad, a starter portion of the ricotta ravioli with truffle and mushroom, fettuccini with the short ribs and sliced beef with polenta sticks. Every dish was prepared perfectly without overseasoning. You can taste the difference with the pasta that homemade. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely stop in again when we are in the area!
Had a wonderful pre fix meal for hudson valley restaurant week. They had a fantastic choice of course options, it was hard to decide. Everything was delicious.
The staff there are courteous and friendly. Everything came out quickly and our host and server were very attentive.
The few times I’ve fined at Amarcord have been wonderful. Highly recommend.
Went to Cafe Amarcord on a Sunday night to celebrate our anniversary weekend. We were traveling, so we arrived about an hour early, but they were still able to seat us :) The service was impeccable. We bought a bottle of wine, a 3 course prix-fixe, and an extra app (omg...the smoked trout was so good) Everything was perfectly coursed, the food was beautifully presented, and delicious. I highly recommend, and we definitely plan on coming back to try some more of the menu!
Restaurant is beautiful....Service was fine.....Grilled calamari appetizer and the shrimp carpaccio were both very good.....Loin lamb chops were very good, the special of cavatelli with veal ragu was totally tasteless.....even adding salt & grated cheese didn't help......since 2 out of 4 had the special, the evening was a bit of a bust....shouldn't happen at a restaurant of this caliber.....:-(
We drove to Beacon for a day in the country. We made reservations at Cafe Amarcord based on reviews and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and accomodating, the menu was varied and everything was prepared fresh and delicious. There were several specials which were excellent. We shared a tagliatelli pasta with lobster as an appetizer. I had the dover sole which was presented to me whole and then fileted. My husband had the tuna. Both were prepared very well. The wine list was moderately priced and everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
