We had a wonderful meal with lovely serve staff! It was everything I hoped especially since I have been trying to dine here for two months!
As a rule we avoid hotel restaurants other than breakfast. But after walking by 3 times, admiring the decor, reading reviews and viewing the menu we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Expertly prepared salmon and steak (they asked for temps on both -THANK YOU!). Accommodated allergies and made wonderful suggestions for wine. Hubby said the Turtle soup was amazing. We were shocked when the chef stopped by our table and we realized our fabulous meal was prepared by someone so young. He was genuinely funny- ran to the kitchen himself when we joked about wanting more of the steak jus to eat with the veggies! Will definitely go back.
Great restaurant, menu was a little limited with only 4 main courses but had plenty of apps and other items to choose from. Will go back again
Crawfish mac’ n cheese was amazing and so filling could have been my meal!
Great food and exceptional service. Easy to tell this restaurant is part of the Commander’s Palace family. And, you gotta love the 25 cent martinis at lunch.
The biggest problem was the staffing. One server and 1 assistant for the whole dining room.it was Sunday and maybe it isn’t usually busy. Also surprising for a good restaurant in NOLA. There are enough other places with food just as good and a better value
We were late for our reservation because of traffic. The staff was wonderful about it and we still made our showtime at the Saenger. Great food and “fancy” comfort food.
Great drinks too with wonderful food, quiet ambience.
Wonderful food and great ambiance. Restaurant felt like old Hollywood glamour, and didn’t feel like a hotel restaurant. Service was spectacular. Would definitely go back.
Another Brennan gem. My wife and I went solo as a couple and returned on St. Patty's Day with ten friends. We had a blast and were delighted with our fare and service. It is mow on our "must go" list when we visit New Orleans.
Amazing experience, I forgot to mention a food allergy and my server corrected I.T immediately! I will definitely be back before I leave New Orleans.
Nice waiters and good food but very slow service. We waited over an hour from placing our order to receiving our meal
The food we ordered was great!. The service however, ruined the evening for us. My husband and I both ordered from a fixed price menu. My soup arrived almost immediately after the order was placed. We received bread, and then we waited for our entree for 45 minutes. The waiter passed our table many times, and did not pour water or ask us if we needed anything. He finally asked us if we had received out entrees. Since he was our waiter, and there was nothing on the table, apparently not. About 10 minutes later, our entrees arrived. He brought the check with the entrees, and we had to remind him that we were supposed to get dessert. He took the check away, and about 10 minutes later we got dessert. A very disappointing meal on our first night in New Orleans!
Do not let its hotel location fool you, Café Adelaide is a terrific restaurant with high standards. This can be attested to by the excellent service, carefully chosen wine, and outstanding food. The Turtle Soup is delicious as is the Tobasco Quail and Black Drum (Fish) entrees. The bar makes drinks with a sublime professionalism. You will miss out if you do not try the café either for lunch or dinner
Monday through Friday $.25 martinis are worth the visit. Food was fantastic. Celebrating special birthday on arrival day in NOLA. Table was decorated and waiter amazing. Don’t miss the chefs menu at lunch. Turtle soup is delish!
Beautiful place and the food was just fantastic!!!!
We loved Cafe A. I had the Turtle soup which a read was a must have...it was. For entree I had the shrimp and grits. Best grits ever. My wife had the quail. Quail is so hard to serve moist....but they did it. The noise from the bar was a little loud at first but once the happy hour crowd left it simmered down noticeably. The service was good, they were a bit overwhelmed at first but when they added another server it was fine. All in all I would highly recommend.
Excellent food. Good lunch value.
Quite atmosphere with great service and excellent food!
I loved almost everything about this place. There was a LOT of noise from the bar across the way.
The food was by far the best I’ve had on my visit to New Orleans. The turtle soup was delicious and so were the shrimp and grits!
THE TURTLE SOUP IS TO DIE FOR! OUTSTANDING!
HAD TO TRY THE SHRIMP AND GRITS AND AGAIN OUTSTANDING. CREAMY GRITS AND JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF SPICE TO BRING IT ALL TOGETHER.
I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT FOR THE OUTSTANDING FOOD AND SERVICE.
Husbands birthday and no special was offered. At least a free desert or cupcake with a candle! Nothing was done. We were disappointed and will go elsewhere next time.
Consistently good food and service. A favorite place for business or just for fun.
The food and specialty drinks we’re phenomenal. The staff at the bar were friendly and on top of it, but the staff for dinning was slow and many unfriendly.
Food was great and the service was wonderful. Make you try the lemon black pepper and Parmesan fries and the BAYOU BEIGNETS.
A friend and I went for lunch and ordered two ice teas and two steak salads. The bill after tip was $75. Seems a bit much for a tea and as salad.
Good food, cool atmosphere, slow service. Wait staff polite but not well trained. It took more than 15 minuets to get a cocktail. Waiter was quick to take our order and was a nice person. Was odd to have food start arriving before we had our drinks. Not intended but was rushed.
Very good experience, the food and service was outstanding. Highly recommend
Went for Valentine's day. My wife had the special that includes a glass of wine, filet mignon with a small side and a bread pudding dessert. Best filet she has ever had. She thought the dessert was ok (I thought it was delicious). I had the garlic cauliflower soup, salmon, and creme brulee. The soup and dessert were perfect, the salmon was good but the serving was smaller than I am used to. We will definitely go again!
Very friendly staff. Owner very involved in details. Excellent food!
We've dined at Cafe Adelaide before and were disappointed with this experience. This was the day after Mardi Gras, so perhaps they were worn down after a long weekend of celebration? The wait staff was nice and polite, but....they were amateurs compared to the usual excellent service that the Brennan Family of restaurants is known for. I feel spoiled and petty with the following review, but, service always seems to be the pinnacle of a Brennan restaurant experience. The wait staff spilled a beverage on the table (hey, accidents happen), but the arduous task of changing the table linen was handled...awkwardly. A carafe of water was placed on the table (thank you very much), but the wait staff never took an opportunity to replenish our glasses when she was there. We were not offered coffee or desert, but were just presented with a check and then had to ask for these things. We were taking food home and given 2 boxes to carry, with no bag. The host saw us walking out and immediately gave us a carrying bag. I will reiterate that the wait staff was nice and polite. They do need further training in order to be the caliber of professionalism that the Brennan family has established with their eateries. We did enjoy the food. The turtle soup is always amazing. Quarter martinis were a welcomed treat (do know that this a smaller version than what you may normally receive, but still, it's only a quarter!), our main entries were delicious, though my grits (shrimp and grits) were too salty. We'll probably give Cafe Adelaide another shot, but with so many wonderful places to go in NOLA, they need to up their game.
Lovely brunch during a busy Mardi Gras season. The bananas foster French toast was fantastic.
Actually the food was not that good. The waitress acted like we were bothersome.
The whole atmosphere was kinda gloomy. One waitress, not ours, kept glaring and making angry faces.
The place was only about 3/4 full so not super busy. They put butter on the tables. Then about 15 minutes later gave us our drinks. We just kept looking at the butter.
Is bread going to magically apear? No
Finally receive food and asked for some bread. Again look of annoyance.
Two days later we went to Brennan’s for breakfast and it was beyond fabulous.
This place was horrible all the way around!
Great food and real close to Mardi Gras parade route. Hard to find Shrimp Corn Dogs any where but here.
Worst waitress I’ve ever had.
Leah was provided excellent service. Shrimp Taso corn dog amazing. Great brunch, and .25 cent martinis.
Saturday brunch. Food was superb and service spot on.
We had a reservation for 1130 AM for 4 and arrived about 15 minutes early. The restaurant was empty and we were asked to wait in the bar area. Service was good - polite, etc. but slow...this was a lunch on a Tuesday and we ordered an appetizer (the bayou beignets - wouldn't recommend, very dense & dry) followed by our main orders. Three of our attendees ordered the "choose two" lunch special and the second course of that was extremely slow in delivery - we sat for 15-20 minutes in between courses...very long lunch. In terms of the food - I had a salad which was good; the pick two meals were full servings of each dish - a lot of food.
Great food. Great place to brunch. Wear your hat and get three free martinis. Excellent value.
Went on Sunday night during NFC championship. My wife and I were the only diners throughout the meal, though the bar next door was full of people watching the game. We had turtle soup, Roast drum, Shrimp and grits, and raspberry sorbet. All dishes were well prepared and tasty. Dylan and Aaron took very good care of us, and we had a nice visit with Sous Chef Serigne.
