About Cafe 501 - Classen Curve
Cafe 501, a long-time favorite of Edmond epicureans, brings its colorful, European-inspired cuisine to the Classen Curve. From its humble beginnings as a "little lunch spot" in the heart of historic Edmond, 501 has poised itself as one of central Oklahoma’s most loved eateries. A second location, at 5825 NW Grand Blvd., features the original’s eclectic "French-Californian" approach to dining with a harmonious balance between a hand-crafted menu and a sophisticated yet casual atmosphere that is true to Oklahoma.
Cafe 501 has become synonymous with a discriminating taste in good wine and great foods. From rustic stone oven pizzas, to fresh, uniquely designed salads and delicious specialty sandwiches on house-made artisan breads, Cafe 501 offers tastes delectable enough for even the most discerning diners. When evening arrives, Cafe 501 changes from a buzzing lunch spot to a romantic bistro with soft lighting, an attentive full-service staff, and an expanded dinner menu.

Cafe 501 - Classen Curve Ratings and Reviews
Had a overall good experience. Delicious food and good value. Only complaint was that our waitress was pushing us to vacate our table for an incoming reservation when we had been seated less than an hour. Great food but I wasn’t wild about being rushed out in a rather rude manor. I will be back but will probably get my food to-go.
Very disappointing. We love the Edmond location but this one disappointed us. Menu was good, with options, but service was poor. We were seated at the same time and section as a ten top table so our server was overwhelmed. Restaurant wasn’t crowded so there was no reason for us to be seated in that location.
Table was dirty. No table cloth or anything. Waited a while for the bread to be served. Had to ask the manager for drink refills.
Food was nothing special. I ordered meatloaf (which is supposed to be delicious) but it was dry and cold. Salad lettuce looked old and pizza toppings were sparse.
We will stick to the Edmond restaurant.
Had Christmas with my best friend the noise level was great we were easily able to converse! Great food kind of pricey neither of us were starving so we opted for soup and salads. Server was awesome got that we just wanted to chat and catch up and was always easy to grab when we were ready to order/refills etc!
We usually give 5 stars but this was very disappointing. First we couldn’t make res. For 11. Had to be 11:15. On arrival 75 % of the place was empty. Was told they don’t seat anyone at 11 because the menu goes from breakfast to lunch. Humm. And we wanted breakfast but accomadation couldn’t happen. Humm again. Shown to table. Was over 15 minutes before we saw a wait person. And this was a more than half empty room. Had a tenderloin salad with only 3 one inch pieces of beef that wasn’t tenderloin. No refills on water , tea , coffee. I’m betting short handed but no apology for less than even poor service. It was a restaurant with lots of NOs. I’m sad one of our “ go to “ places is now a NO to go. Will return sometime just not soon.
The food was good and the service from the hostess and waitstaff was also good. However, it was very dirty UNDER the table at which we sat. As I was sitting down I noticed a significant amount of food and debris on the floor under and around the table. I didn’t mention anything at the time because I was on a date and I didn’t want to make a scene.
I've been to Cafe 501 many times and always love it! I'll be honest, I think the lunch options are better than the dinner options but it's always great. We recently went with friends who were visiting from out of town and had a great experience. More than 1/2 the people in our group were gluten-free and we had plenty of options. We also had 4 children in our group but the servers took great care of us and sat us in a quiet corner!
501 Classen Curve always provides great food, great menu variety (everyone at the table will find a favorite on their menu) and great atmosphere at reasonable value. On our most recent visit Friday night, the waiters were challenged by the size of the crowd, but that was not an issue for us. We were glad to see 501 so busy since we want it to be around for a long time.
We eat at Café 501 several times a week for lunch, dinner and sometimes weekend brunch. The food and service are always great. The only issue I've had is requesting a booth. I request a booth with every reservation made and the hostess on the weekend always tries to seat us at a table. Which tells me she doesn't read the special request section of the reservation.
Food was good as always but service was poor. Our server never returned to table except when asked. The very gracious lady clearing out plates got us a dessert menu. Water glasses never refilled. It was my friends first time at this location and I hope this poor service doesn't keep her away.
