We had a reservation for 2 people. There were 5 small booths available and the waitress wanted to sit us at a table with hard chairs. We asked for a booth and was seated right next to the kitchen entrance when there were 4 other booths available. There was constant coming and going from the kitchen with was distracting to our conversation. Perhaps a little training of the young hostess who was there so she can seat people in better tables.
My friend enjoyed her Whiskey Sour. My margarita was greatly lacking so I did not have a 2nd one as I customarily do.
We enjoyed our food. I had the Carnitas Tacos and they were delicious.
Food was really good. Service was good, but could have been a little bit better (seating, food was sent to the wrong table). The staff was nice. I did like it overall, and I do recommend, but I just had higher expectations coming in based on researching it online.
Excellent as usual.
We took part in the monthly wine dinner for February. A four-course meal with wine pairings. It was absolutely fantastic. They provided information about each wine, about the dishes as well as the ingredients on the plate. It was an amazing experience. 10/10 would attend another event.
The wine dinner was nice. However, the food portion was not that great for the price.
Good food, nice atmosphere, perhaps waiter was new. He was not too good.
Nice Valentines dinner
If you order the chocolate cookie skillet just make sure you order it before you finish, because it takes awhile for it to come out.
we had jaelyn as our server and did his best and was accommodating for our large group.
Good comfort food. Very attentive staff. Used "Open Table" for reservation, received an email that reservation confirmed, but 501 did not have my reservation when we arrived.
The service was really not up to the usual standard for 501.
We were rather disappointed.
This Cafe 501 location is always consistently good! I love being able to make a reservation, even for lunch. Very convenient!
I eat here a lot. This is the first time it was just terrible. We purchased a pizza, topping turned into jerky. Chicken parmesan, red sauce under the cheese so barely melted and chicken overly fried. Special ordered sautéed brussel sprouts, Barely sautéed. So deeply bitter almost raw with almost no spice... no effort taken. Ordered 2 brandy ice... all ice cream very little liquor.
Just expensively terrible over all.
Went for brunch. They have taken eggs benedict off the menu, not sure why. The menu offers chicken fried steak benedict, so seems strange that they could not continue to do eggs benedict. Food and service are always good.
Quality Food
Great service
Patio is great, looking forward to spring.
Great place for date night OR "friends to catch up"
Always a lovely experience at Cafe 501! Love that Coyote Chicken!
It was empty and silent- kind of felt like a library. Food was good. Our waitress JC and waited Jayden were so attentive and friendly- definitely made the experience.
Biggest Downside- half the menu wasn’t available. But the food we did get was good!
Food was very good
It was so good
Had fried chicken and veggie bowl. Both were outstanding. Would recommend. Tried to order delivery with door dash, but could not get a menu.
I’m not one to write reviews. Wife and I finally had a chance to go out and enjoy a night to ourselves and the service here was amazing, food... not so much. Ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf, beyond dry. Wife ordered the corn meal flounder with my suggestion (grew up giggin flounder and frying them up) and I have to say it was terrible. I should know better with ordering seafood in a landlocked state but you never know. We would go back maybe for a lunch if we’re in the area (sandwich selection looked good) but probably will refrain from eating dinner here again.
The food and service was awesome. I look forward to trying some of the dessert next time. I visit OKC several times a year for business and I look forward to eating at Cafe 501 when I return.
Delicious food. Service was goodish. Beautiful building. We eat here often and love it!
Service was excellent and we were greeted right away. The food was a bit bland and in need of some seasoning. I added some salt and pepper to everything on my plate, which is something I rarely ever do. The food presentation however was stunning.
It was closed in spite of our being given an appointment on open table.
Great waitress! Good atmosphere! Food a little pricey, but "fancy" places are like that.
I feel very comfortable eating at 501...food is lovely and they take good precautions
I haven't eaten out anywhere else during the pandemic, but I've had lunch at Cafe 501 @ Classen Curve on three different occasions. The restaurant is doing everything possible to make your dining experience safe and enjoyable. I highly recommend Cafe 501 @ Classen Curve.
First of all they didn’t have us down for our reservation and the service was horrible.
Love the food and the fact that you can reserve seating at lunch!
The decor is really fun and unusual. I loved the dowels hanging from the ceiling!
We had reservations for 1:00 for Sunday brunch and the place was pretty empty. The service was very good albeit a bit slow despite the fact that there were only 2 additional tables.
The food was ok but I will say that it was very oily. I realize we all ordered something fried but our plates were oil soaked as was the food. The eggs had been ordered “over medium” and they were WAY overcooked.
The drinks were great!
Food is the best part of this establishment. Do not expect quick or great service. It will be a while before you’re greeted or seated even with a reservation. Expect one drink refill at most, and one to two interactions with your server. The food is fresh, and flavorful, but that’s hard to overshadow the terrible service, I have attended twice, and both visits were the same.
Disappointing that your establishment ran out of champagne, running out of dinner ware and not having a back up plan made for a very non satisfactory meal.
Had a fun lunch with my girlfriend. Great food, reasonable prices and excellent service. (I believe her name was JC). There's several reasons I recommend it and frequent it!
Great outdoor space for a perfect evening.
Excellent service, food was well prepared and flavorful.
Not sure what has happened since the COVID re-opening, but the service has been terrible the last 3 times I have had lunch here, (all within the the last 3 weeks). No host/hostess available and even the on duty manager seemed hard pressed to help people waiting for their reserved table. Waited 10 minutes one time and 12 minutes the other time - just to be addressed by any staff person. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat, but after this last time, we will be giving it a break for a few weeks to see if they can get things corrected.
We like to go out to breakfast but your options aren't what we are looking for. We like tradition breakfast and it is hard to fine. Eggs , bacon, and toast or Oatmeal.
Small portions. Food burned on the bottom. Slow service
First time at the 501 but will not be my last. Thanks for a great experience.
