When evening arrives, Cafe 501 changes from a buzzing lunch spot to a romantic bistro with soft lighting, an attentive full-service staff, and an expanded dinner menu.
Great good and service.
Chicken and waffles were amazing!
Always a great go-to for consistently good food and service
A friends birthday
We had brunch this time-all four of us had something different and we all loved what we got! So that’s an accomplishment!
My only suggestion would be that more dishes should be offer without pork. Our waitress was helpful in telling us some options but it would be great if the printed and online menus stated what the options were. 3 of the 4 of us dining are either vegetarian or don’t eat pork.
Thanks Cafe 501! It was yummy!
Cafe 501 is consistently good. I love their menu. The wait staff are friendly and seem to really like their jobs. It is a great place for conversation as it is quiet. They have a wood wine selection. I love their brandy ice. I have eaten most everything on their menu and it is all good!
Menu was great- very excited by the offerings. However, execution was just okay. Nothing wowed us. Service was great. Felt very bright- like they had recently replaced all of the bulbs in the place with super bright florescent bulbs, ruined the environment.
Our party of two visited Cafe 501 with a 7:30 reservation on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was full but there were no people waiting for tables so I don't think they were overwhelmed. The only issue we had was with the service. While we were seated immediately and greeted by our server, it turns out our server was also one of two bartenders. As a result she was doing double duty behind the full bar and waiting on a section of tables. There were about 12 people sitting directly at the bar in addition to all of the customers throughout the restaurant that may have ordered drinks from the bar. While I'm sure working the bar and serving the tables located close to the bar may work just fine on a normal Tuesday evening, it was not conducive to good service for those of us seated at the tables near the bar on a busy New Year's Eve. If visiting Cafe 501 on an expected busy night, I'd ask for a table located away from the bar area that does not rely on the bar tender to act as their server.
Lacey is a wonderful waitress! She was very knowledgable and fun. Thank You Lacey for making our dining experience top notch. We will be back! Happy New Year
The overall experience seems to be on the decline. The food was good but not great and it seems a bit run down. The service was excellent though.
We had breakfast and the food was great. The service wasn’t as good as expected for a 90 dollar breakfast for four. We sat in the middle booths up next to a separation wall and when we looked to the side the top of the wall right next to us at eye level was very dusty and straight out gross. I wish they would keep this cleaner
Family Christmas Eve dinner
Food was very good
Cafe 501 is consistently great food and an overall nice place to dine and visit without a lot of noise. The wait staff are friendly and food is delivered as soon as it is ready. They also have great brandy ice which is always my favorite dessert drink.
Wonderful food and service as always!
We were in Edmond Sunday morning and looking for a local restaurant when Cafe 501 caught my eye. They didn't have my reservation but seated us anyway. Then I discovered my reservation was at Cafe 501 in Oklahoma City. Somehow I guess I selected the wrong Cafe 501. I didn't know there was more than one. The omelet and bloody Mary were great!
Always a great local place to go!
We enjoyed a quiet dinner. Our food was very good and our server was great. Thanks!
Great fall menu!
Seemed like maybe they were short staffed but they adjusted and we had a super experience overall! Food was amazing!
501 remains one of my favorite restaurants.
Service and food are exceptional.
Sunday Brunch - delicious
Great waitstaff. !!!!!! Food always good.
Great food! Nice quiet setting. Outstanding service!
A meal before the OKLAHOMA PHILHARMONIC CONCERT. It was a scrumptious meal and we had a lovely time.
Great food and service, thanks.
Everything was good except that our server was a struggle.
Great food. Great service. Large portions. Wish we had room for dessert because they looked so good.
Food is ususally very good at 501, but service is often not great. Last week we had the best waitress (I wish I could remember her name)! She was very attentive, really great in every way.
We chose to eat at cafe 501 for our anniversary dinner. Our food was great, the service was excellent and they took care of providing us with desert for our anniversary. Excellent experience. Love it and will be back.
Good food. Was disappointed that your wedge salad was not on the lunch menu.
It was too dark! They put the shades down halfway through our meal. Strange since it was lunch time.
Great for Sunday brunch!
Everything was great except the food, I ordered the $40 steak and they came out with a burnt, not even a 6 oz. steak, it wasn’t even the size of my hand. I asked them to take it back. Salmon was okay though. The prices are way too high for how low quality the food is.
Lunch with 2 friends today. We had the same waitress back in April and she remembered us! We couldn’t believe it. Great service!
I gave a 2 star because the foo was really good. However the service was awful. Our waitress was very short with us and did not fill our drinks very promptly. We arrived at 12:30 for our brunch reservation and were seated right away. We ordered an appetizer that cane out fairly quick. We ordered the guacamole and pimento cheese and it was delivered with 6 large chips. That was enough for each of us to have a chip. We ate those and asked for more and were given 6 more rather greasy chips. Needless to say we had dip remaining with no chips to eat it with. An hour and fifteen minutes later our food had not been served. I went in search of a manager. I spoke with a hostess and she said she would send the manager over. A manager NEVER came to check on our table. Someone from the kitchen delivered our food and as he was putting it down he quickly said I’m am sorry for the wait we will give you 50% off of your tab and you can have dessert on the house. Of course we said that is not necessary but thank you. Our waitress never said anything to us other than occasionally filling out drinks. When we were finished we were given the tab and there was no mention of dessert. We did not need or want any dessert but I felt it was poor service. Even if it was not going to be comped our waitress still should have told us the dessert options and asked if we wanted anything. This was a horrible experience. I love the 501 Cafe in Edmond and will continue to frequent it. However, I will not be returning to the one at Classen Curve. Maybe our waitress avoided us because our food was so delayed and she was nervous. I just am not sure but we were nothing but friendly because I understand these things happen but the way it was handles was not very professional.
Meghan was a great server! Not too pushy but attentive! Would definitely visit again!
Great service and the food was tasty.
Always great food and friendly service
