Our Fox View room with a grand view of the historic Fox Theater and Main Street. This semi private space continues the airy Mediterranean décor of the original dining room and has a seating capacity of forty. Come stop by and see what we have to offer.
Delighted to discover this gem in Visalia!
Amazing night. Lamb cooked to perfection. Husbands gourmet burger to die for. This will be a fixture when we are in the area.
We had a party of four. Two ordered a salad with salmon, one ordered the meatloaf special and I ordered the salmon dinner with rice and veggies. We we all well satisfied with the food. The waiter was good and took care of us as we would expect. We all like this place in the heart of downtown Visalia. I whole heartily recommend it.
We had dinner before attending a show at the Visalia fox theator. we have normally had dinner at a near by Mexican restaurant but decided to try something new. We were pleasantly surprised. Great food and a good value. We will be back
Our waiter seemed kinda confused with the menu., also seemed like he was in too much of a hurry. The restaurant is super noisey. When I made my reservations they asked if we were celebrating anything special and I told them yes, my daughters 25th birthday. I told them again at the restaurant and they never did anything. So, I told them again and the bus boy came over and just kinda tossed the dessert on the table and walked off. Wont be back there for a special occasion.
The food was very good and the service was really great. A very nice restaurant for a special occasion.
Good food. Prices reasonable for what you get. Quality of food is consistent. Nice atmosphere.
Great food. We had to ask for our waiter a couple times. I saw him in the back talking with another waiter....
We waited an hour for food, in spite of letting our server that we had to leave for an event by 7:15. Didn't have time to do more than gulp down a little bit.... Hopimg to stave off hunger the rest of the night.
Slow service. Food was mediocre.
First time there. Took a chance and loved the food from there. Absolutely loved the artichoke and fontina fritters. I can't wait to go back to try their other menu items. My date enjoyed their Avocado Chicken Breast. I had the Almond Crusted Basa Filet. We really enjoyed it there. We will be back.
Great place to celebrate my wife’s bday with the kids! Food was great! Drinks were great!
A very good experience. We keep on going there. Must be good.
We had a great time and the food was great. We were taken care of.
Our server Sheri was wonderful. Let us take our time. Did not have our first wine selection but she was very nice about it. Food was good but this time the service out shinned the food.
Reasonable prices, good atmosphere, good food, and servicd was grest.
We brought friends from Arizona, as I remembered you had a really good filet mignon.
Very disappointed that this item was not on the menu. Your bread, too, was quite disappointing. Are you becoming a hamburger joint? Saw quite a selection of burgers. WE still love the atmosphere, but the menu needs some work.
Great pizza and beer! Great date night!
We planned on celebrating a birthday today for a friend whos wife is in the hospital. Cafe 225 isn't open on sundays. Frustrated that they don't have their hours correct with open table because I had a reservation at 1:15 today. We had to find another place.
Food was slow but good!! I really enjoyed my date here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good value date. Basa was really yummy.
Absolutely delicious!
We went to Café 225 for dinner before attending a concert at the Fox Theatre, which we've done before. The food and service were really nice. We did not feel rushed, as sometimes happens in a busy restaurant. The menu is varied enough that you can always find something you'd like to try. The wine list could have been a little longer, but we did easily find a wine we enjoyed at a fair price. I'm sure we're going to return. We were able to make the reservation online, which was really convenient for both us and the restaurant.
We had a great evening at dinner. We had great service. We were taken care of. The food is consistently good.
Our server Anna was great. The happy hour prices are amazing. Food was good but service was better.
Mothers Day
We had a good evening at Cafe 225. The server was attentive to our needs. The food was hot and fresh. Plan to return.
seriously nothing special! Overpriced for the quality of the food. Good atmosphere and service only.
I thought the food was good. The service was excellent!
Extremely noisy...and not in a good way...as we were seated across from where plates were be stacked by dishwasher going in and ou, as well as cooks and platers yelling. Artichoke fritter-type appetizer tasted raw on the inside and finally found one tiny bit of artichoke in it. I had side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Sadly it seemed to be just balsamic and olive oil, now seasoning. They used to have a good vinaigrette. We both had steak frites and it was served with 'cold' gravy...actually cold! The fries were standard frozen shoe string fries. We were really surprised how bad it was since we USD to eat here a few years ago. Last time was Mother's Day 2016 and it was bad then. I attributed it to the busy holiday. Apparently that was not the case. We will not return.
I made a reservation at 8 o'clock on Valentine's Day. We got there 15 minutes early just for them to tell us they don't have a table for us because there boss forgot to take them off open table. so thank you for ruining my special day I don't appreciate it...
Great quiet atmosphere. Food was delicious. Try the lamb kabobs, great service with even greater food.
Very underwhelming. I had a Margherita pizza and you would think with a wood oven they could get that right. The crust had zero flavor and had a texture of being microwaved. My husband had a steak which was very thin and certainly not worth the price. My cosmopolitan was pretty good but a little sweet for my liking. We will not likely return to this restaurant.
I was hopping to get a table at the front as requested. Instead we had to sit to all the way to the back where it was cold. When we arrived we waited 5 to 10 minutes to be seated. Was our first time here. Not too happy.
Busy Valentine's night so a but crowded and hampered service a bit, but pleasant waiter.
Good and creative variety on the menu with moderate to slightly high prices but not outrageous. Our meal had good flavor but was overcooked/burnt do they didn't charge us for that item. Menu said it was happy hour but they didn't give us happy hour prices on our drinks.
Nice find on the Main Street of Visalia- stumbled in with a little hint from the internet that the chef had trained and previously worked in San Francisco. Looking for high quality and savory food, I was drawn to the creative menu. Once inside, I was very pleased with the ambiance and excellent service- that was just the perfect blend of attention and concern combined with time to leave me to eat alone in quiet to people watch and decompress after a long day of travel. The lamb kabob (as recommended as one of the servers 2 most favorite dishes) was FANTASTIC and I picked a perfect bottle called Renegade to pair with it. There was no room for dessert- but I will save room for that the next time I return!
Haven't been to 225 in years, decided to mix up our restaurant dining. Food was good and flavorful. Our waitress was nice and attentive, but seemed like she had too many tables and was pushy for us to order. The hostess was lost and walked around the entire restaurant looking for a table for us. She also appeared to be clearing tables. Overall the dining experience was OK, not what I remember from Cafe 225. I've heard lunch there is great.
Had a great time with my lady, we both enjoyed our meals thoroughly! I had Garlic shrimp linguine and she had the Mac & cheese with chicken, delicious! Service was great as well our waiters made sure we had everything we needed, much appreciated! I'd recommend Cafe 225 to anyone!
Excellent as always. Thanks for a great evening. The food was excellent. Happy New Year
New Years Eve Dinner. The food was fantastic as always and the service was great. Our server thought it was taking a bit too long and stopped by often to give us updates but we were there to take our time and enjoy the evening. It was a great evening!
Excellent food and friendly, fast service! Highly recommend!
