I had a reservation. When we entered restaurant there was NO ONE in the restaurant yet the hostess would not seat us. She said they were expecting a large party and our table was needed. She said we had to sit at the bar. After refusing she finally gave us a table- we still were only customers in the restaurant.
Our food was good. Our server was excellent. Very limited menu

All five of us chose different dishes, they were all delicious. Service was prompt, but not rushed, and prices were remarkably modest.

The restaurant is in the Detroit Opera House, so many diners were going to the opera. We arrived a few minutes late and got the last table. It's an upbeat and sophisticated storefront cafe. Our server was very attentive. My friend really liked the ribs, and my chicken breast was very tasty. They were served with broccoli and sliced potatoes. We wanted bread, and had the Bruschetta which was three small slices of toasted bread with salsa. It was $8, so I would avoid it! They should offer rolls or bread.

This is a great place to have dinner or apres-theatre snacks when you have tickets to the opera. You only have to park once, and when finished, you can walk right into the auditorium for an outstanding opera.

Very convenient if you're attending an event at the Opera House. Build in extra time in case they're short of servers as seemed to be the case when we attended. Our server in particular seemed be having problems with most of her tables. It was almost impossible to order dessert (asked another server) and get our bill. Not thrilled with the choice of main entrees but serving sizes are ample and prices are fairly reasonable. I would go again.

The Turkey Foccacia Sandwich was great. Unfortunately my designated server was not so great. One server took my order, someone else brought my food to me, then another refilled my water and drink and continued to check on me. I liked the way the other servers just stepped in. I would still recommend eating here because the food is excellent and the professionalism of the other servers.

My friend and I were going to a performance at the Opera House so we made reservations at the Cadillac Cafe for dinner prior to the event. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was fine but I thought it was overpriced for the quality and quantity. Both of our entrees (fish and duck) were somewhat overcooked. However, the pot stickers we ordered as an appetizer were delicious. The location was very convenient, particularly since it was a rainy night, so I did appreciate that. In terms of the food and price, however, I think there are other nearby restaurants that I would prefer.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. They were extremely busy because of an event at the Detroit Opera House. My food arrived cold, but as soon as I mentioned it they whisked it away and brought it back piping hot. The manager and the chef both followed up to make sure I was satisfied (which I was).

We enjoyed the ambiance and the service. The menu was a bit too fancy for my husband, who was hoping for a standard salad.

Way overpriced and the food was horrible. We ordered the veggie sandwich that had been sitting out so long the cheese that hung over the bread was dried and hard, the sandwich was cold and when asked to warm, it came back barley warmed. We also ordered the London broil which was prepared very very rare, we had to keep asking the waitress for refill on our coffee and water. The waitress kept using the small space between my chair and a pole to deliver food to tables instead of walking around and each time she bumped my chair which was very aggravating. We will never be back.

The crabcakes were good but for $24.00, quality and taste of meal did not measure up. It included a corn and black bean relish on a few field greens. It sounded good but had very few black beans and tasted like bottled roasted red peppers. My daughter had London Broil, also $24. It was cooked rare and tasty but not tender. Mashed potatoes and a little eggplant and zucchini came with it. Menü said Vegetables, but if it was ratatouille. It also didn't have eye or taste appeal.
I think nearby restaurants would have been a better choice before the wonderful performance of Rigoletto.

We stopped for dinner prior to the Opera. We made reservations and our table was available as soon as we arrived. Our server was a delight and understood the menu and what might take a little longer to prepare. We ordered the short ribs and they were for tender with mash potato and Brussels sprouts. The food came in plenty of time to make the performance. The food was not cold but not as hot as I preferred. We had time for desert and sprung for the carrot cake and the chocolate cake. Both were well worth it. The meal was a bit pricy for the two entrees, one glass of wine and the two deserts with 20% tip came to $80.00.

The menu is VERY limited. My entree was served on a small plate and the portion was very small. Not worth $24! The kitchen would not accommodate my initial request that the waitress said they would do. We will not be dining there again!!

Cadillac Café is very convenient for those attending events and performances at the Detroit Opera House. However, the wait staff seems poorly trained, understaffed, and painfully slow in responding to simple requests, such as water or a cup of tea. The menu is appealing with good choices, but the actual food is only fair. We had lamb chops which did not seem first quality and were more fat than meat. The key lime pie is delicious. I might try them again, if the weather forecast is terrible, because it is really convenient to have dinner and already be at our performance destination

We enjoyed our meal, though portions were small. (The website boasts "small plates" but our server suggested they were full meals. ) That said, our server was very friendly and helpful, even though he was quite busy. The restaurant is on the Madison side of the Opera House -- not clear from the Open Table listing -- and has direct access to the Opera House for the performance. The food was fine -- my wife had crab cakes which she enjoyed; I had a Caesar salad which was as expected. The appetizer bruschetta were terrific. We arrived early in the evening (545) and the service was pretty quick, though the restaurant got much busier by the end of our meal.

The food was ok at best, most of it is precooked so nothing is fresh. It was WAY overpriced for the portions and it was an all around disappointment. I got that scallops entree it came with four scallops over maybe 1 oz of cooked greens for $25!

There are so many really great options around that I would never go to this restaurant again.

The location was very convenient prior to the Brit Floyd concert when The Detroit Beer Company & Small Plates had a 2 hour wait. We were starving & didn't realize that there was a café at the Opera House. Just goggled the website thinking we could find nachos or something like that. Turned out to be a very enjoyable, satisfying experience. An, our server was wonderful!

Very friendly service. Waiter was helpful and engaging. We ate there before going to the play at the Detroit Opera House and it worked very well. Suggest arriving well before the start of the play (we arrived 1 1/2 hours before the start of the play) as seating capacity is not great. When the doors to the theatre were not yet open at the time we were done with our dinner, the hostess offered us some drink and a place to sit in the lobby. Very thoughtful. I will definitely go back when attending an event at the Opera House.

Wife and I booked dinner reservation. We had tickets for the lion king show. The cafe's location is very convenient. We arrived on time and were pleasenly greeted and were seated right away. The Cafe appears small and intimate at first but after being seated the space was large enough to host many tables without being "over crowded". Pleanty of personal space and room between tables. The waiter Gerald was very attentive and made the whole experience memorable. The menu may be considered limited by some. However for us there was a fare amount isf selection that would appeal to variety of pallets. The shrimp cocktail and bruschetta was good. The salmon and lamb were cooked perfect. Just the right amount of potato and Haricot verts. The serving time between appetizers and main course was perfect. Our water glasses were never empty and Gerald assured we were served a perfect Olive martini. We will return again

We ordered the lamb chops requesting them rare, but the waiter explained that they were only available medium. We agreed to this and said, "As long as they're not well done that will be fine." They were Well done. Cooked to death, but still eatable, so we ate them and didn't complain, but I wouldn't order them again.

My wife and I made reservations here for convince prior to a show at the opera house. Our seating was nice right on the windows looking at Comerica Park. We both noticed how rickety our chairs were. The host told us that the ushers at the opera house provide behind the scenes tours if we inquired. The usher laughed at us and said they did not. Our service was good; however the food left a lot to be desired. We both asked for side salads, which st $12 a pop were underwhelming and had brown leaves. The menu was different than what was online. I settled for an $18 order of perogis, which were very average. My wife ordered a $26 chicken dish that was very average as well. The side was dried out green beans and what looked like a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. We were very disappointed with the quality of food especially for the price. We will not be back, or recommend dining there.

Reserved a table for dinner before the show. You can't get more conveniently located than the Cadillac Cafe, entrance to the Opera House is in the cafe. Restaurant was clean and well appointed. Wait staff (Burk) was attentive and friendly. Menu is not large but it is a "cafe" after all and everything we ordered was quite good. We would go back again.
