I used to go to the Cadillac Bar years ago when it was closer to 5th and Mission. Was bummed when they closed. Back in San Francisco for the weekend and excited they were open again in their new location. My wife and I had the Cadillac Platter which was more than enough for two. Each had a couple of margaritas. Queso was really good too. Really had a great time and I’d be a regular if I didn’t live in Virginia! I say go, go, go to the Cadillac Bar!
I went to Cadillac to celebrate my Graduation, and have never regretted. My and my friend's overall experience was great! Food is delicious, atmosphere is fun, and the service is excellent! Alfredo, the bartender, made some awesome drinks (mango, pineapp-jalapeno, cucumber mint). Our server, Guillermo, was very attentive and made sure so that I had the best experience. Guillermo is the legit Papi of that place!!!
The food was mixed - the puffy fish tacos were very crispy and good however, I felt the carnitias were greasy as our plate was covered with oil. The service was rather poor. We waited 5 minutes at the hostes stand and then over 10 minutes at our table without a waiter greeting us. I finally flagged down a sever walking by who said she was not our server but she did take my drink order. Eventually our sever came with my drink. The atmosphere was very noisy happy hour scene. Not our type of place but I'm sure many others would like it. Oh, BTW open table information stated that happy hour was 3-6 but the sever told us it was onl 3-5.
The service was good and the location perfect for the theater. I had the chicken fajitas and, with the exception of the salsa and Frijoles Charros, the food was unremarkable. My wife had the tortilla soup; it was close to being inedible due to the high salt level. Pricing was reasonable for SF.
Puffy. Tacos. Yum.
Found Cadillac Bar & Grill online while looking for restaurant close to Orpheum. Was intending to go somewhere fancier, but based on good Yelp reviews on their food and quick service to make show at Orpheum, decided to go to Cadillac. We had were greeted and seated immediately, waitress also came over right away and took our drink order, when she returned she took our food order, and we were eating within 20 mins. The food was all delicious, some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had (and I’ve eaten a lot of Mexican food!). We had enough time after eating to enjoy the last of our drinks and not feel rushed at all! We had 5:30pm reservation and were out at 6:30pm, walked across the street to Orpheum with plenty of time for 7pm show. Cadillac will now be our go to for Orpheum!
Food and service was fine, but the guitar duo was loud and unsatisfying.
We were seven before "Hamilton," and our sweet server made sure all was done in a timely manner, always with a smile. The guacamole and chips are the best, and I really liked my enchiladas suizas. The mango margarita was very tasty but didn't have much tequila.
Guillermo was the best!
I went on a first date here. I was recommended Cadillac Bar by a friend. Probably not the best place for a first date as there are giant TV's everywhere and they can be a bit distracting, but if you are into a sports bar type atmosphere, this place is for you. The food is really good. I split the fajitas with my date and they were one of the best I have had. We had the chicken and steak and most places the steak can be a bit tough, but here they were amazing. I also had a jalapeño margarita which was pretty weak, but overall, I would highly recommend Cadillac Bar and Grill.
Great place to grab a quick bite. Love the “fluffy” tacos with really fresh gauc and the margaritas are top notch too!
We had made reservations here to have dinner before seeing Hamilton at the Orpheum Theatre. We were late due to bad traffic, but they held our table after I called. The staff was fabulous. We loved Guillermo, our waiter. They made sure we got our order in a timely manner. The food was delicious. We’d eat here again!
Staff was friendly and welcoming. The service was good. All of the food was fresh and nicely presented.
Such a nice, casual place to go for a meal and a drink. The food was awesome and our server couldn't have been better.
Good fajitas. Weak/sugary drinks. Lively atmosphere and food came quickly. Service was poor, and one item was forgotten (though removed from the bill). We were also rushed out so we could get to the show, despite being totally on time/early.
Had a great meal. I had the Carnitas in citrus juice and would have it again👍
We had reservations before a show at Orpheum and was hoping that the most conveniently located restaurant would also be the best. Our server Pedro was friendly and attentive. The live music was delightful. And the FOOD! We always think you can judge a Mexican restaurant right from the get go with the chips and salsa and that was true here. The mango halibut ceviche was excellent, the puffy tacos is everything good about Mexican food and we had the tres leche cake for dessert which was the best we’ve ever had. We will definitely be back
We picked this place because we were attending a concert that was close by. The food was a mixed bag. My wife’s chili rellenos were bland and she only ate one of the two. My carnitas puffy tacos were on the other hand quite good. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was that of sports bar and the noise was quite high but manageable.
Group of nine met here for dinner before Hamilton. Our waiter Guillermo was great -- very attentive, was mindful of our time restrictions and very accommodating about splitting the bill. Just a five-minute walk to the theater. Everybody enjoyed their dinner at Cadillac B & G.
Excellent in every way. There were four of us and everyone loved their dinner and drinks. Yummy chips, salsa, and quacomole too. Great service. It is right near the Orheum theater so perfect to eat there before.
Food is very good but restaurant is extremely noisy.
Worst Mexican food ever - except for the guacamole and chips. I would return for drinks and the guacamole and chips.
Do not eat here. Worst Mexican food I have ever had.
music was loud but very fun. overall great place! we got our in great time to make it to our show
Service was very good. Food and drinks were excellent.
Not fancy, but the Mexican fare is distinctive, tasty and pleasingly presented. A perfect place for a modest meal before the theater, just a short walk away.
Recommend this place when you have a LARGE group and need quick turnaround before a show. Food is OK (and a bit limited) but service is good and "fast".
So much fun. The waiter was exception and super fast. Perfect for dinner before the orpheum.
It was a busy night so you weren’t able to seat us on time for our play thereafter. Too bad as we love your restaurant. We were early and you still didn’t have a place for us for 40 minutes.
This was a big disappointment. We made 5:30 reservations in order to get to our 7:00 show just 2 blocks away. We arrived at 5:30 and I was told that a lot of people had come in at 5:30. Seems that’s the point of having reservations. At 6:00 I went to the front desk for the third time and the woman there looked up my reservation again then apologized and we were shown to a table immediately. We ordered a main course only and I explained that we had been seated late and were worried about making our show. The server minimized my concerns and said everyone there was going to the same show. As if that helped. We noticed that, yes, the table next to us was holding the same tickets as we had. And they were given dessert and their check before our food even arrived.
The food was delicious and I assume that is why this place stays in business. The ambiance is noisy sports bar - which is fine as long as you know that. There is an utter lack of care for the customer though. Will never recommend and certainly not go back.
Food was ok, terribly slow service for a late afternoon meal. Recommended only if you’re not in a hurry.
Loud & Fun!
Food was delicious and the service was great. Very short walk to theater.
Great Mexican food, but crowded and noisy. Waitress didn't bring out the chips and salsa until after the main course was served. We cancelled the chips and salsa. Otherwise service was fine. My husband liked the chicken fajitas, but he would have liked more extras like sour cream etc. I had a skewer of shrimp, peppers, and snapper with rice and veggies on the side that was excellent. It's very convenient if you're going to the Orpheum.
The food is amazing. The service was excellent. They asked if I was going to the show at the Orpheum, which I was. They kept the food coming out quick so we would not feel rushed.
The food is delicious and the mango margarita is a MUST ! Compare to other Mexican restaurants the menu items are limited but the quality of the food shows they prefer to specialize on what they serve.
Loved the food and ambience. Our only problem was that I asked for my leftovers to be boxed up to take home and the girl threw them away on accident. It was not our waitress Denise, it was another server.
Our waitress asked if that was ok, and I told her yes. I didn't make an issue of it but I would have liked my leftovers for the next day.
Our second time out. Just as good as the first. Puffy tacos..that's all you need to know.
Great food and drinks, the value was worth it. Our server had to be flagged down a couple of times, even though the restaurant was mostly empty.
We visited Cadillac Bar & Grill for dinner before a recent performance of Hamilton at the nearby Orpheum Theater. There aren't a lot of quick dining options near the theater, but the Cadillac Bar & Grill is quite close and offers quick, friendly service. We both had margaritas the puffy tacos, fish and pork, are were very happy with our choices. I would definitely come here again for a meal or happy hour when in the Civic Center area.
The location is convenient to the Orpheum theatre but that may be the only reason I'd suggest a friend eat there. Much better Mexican food to be gotten elsewhere for less. Margaritas were good but too pricey.
